I read Philothea because of his patronage to the Pontifical Right of Apostolic Life under the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest. Sales’ doctrine is beautiful and an approved formula for salvation and sainthood, I especially appreciated his acknowledgement of the passions and how we ought to order our consciences. As St Paul wrote, “All is lawful to me, but not all is profitable”. Highly recommend this work
