This is a story about truth and lies, injustice, narcissism, mental health and love. I wanted to share my experiences with you to demonstrate that no matter how crappy things get and no matter how deep into the depths of despair you find yourself, there is always light at the end of the tunnel. This book will hopefully provide you with some useful information by sharing my experiences but also to let you know that you are not alone in your own personal circumstances. Things do get better with time and the truth will always come out. I have learned to be persistent, honest with myself and to look after me. Without that I would have broken a long time ago. Brace yourself……..

Short and Easy Read!

I gave this book an average rating. Not that it was bad but it just didn't seem as solid as other books I've read. By that I mean there was no real depth in the story. The basic theme is: "I dated someone wrong for me and knew it but felt lonely. So we got married, had 3 kids despite increasing evidence we weren't compatible and wife was controlling and using me financially. Mom clung to kids, we kept arguing which is harmful to children so we divorced. Wife sabotaged me AND the children and created division and alienation. I hired an attorney. Courts eventually gave me custody. The kids adjusted after a while and are doing better and so am i. The end"
I just think the author could have elaborated more, perhaps adding in a few court scenes and scripts of what was said . Or a Guardian's Report from Child Services detailing accusations and handling. Or even photos of the children and family or their input on life now.
And there were unfortunately more than a few spelling and word usage mistakes. One example being that the ex told a "shear lie." Shears are scissors so I hope not lol. The correct word is "sheer." Another is that he came from a "close nit" family. Again, I hope not because a nit is a lice egg attached to the hair; "knit" is the correct spelling. And using "where" for "were."

Bad Dad is a matter of opinion

Unfortunately, there are a lot of men and women in the same situation. It is not always easy trying to find the right person to have children with. My ex-husband and I had different parenting techniques. When we divorced, I was always made to look like a bad parent. I never talked bad about him, but I suffered emotionally. It took me 11 years to trust another. Always put your children first. They watch everything you do.
