Stacy can’t wait to get back to Switzerland and start her new job at the Lakeside Hotel – but things don’t turn out as she’d hoped. Some people are hostile, and there’s the language problem, too – Stacy’s sense of humour is tested every day. She’s glad to find a friend in the local community, but Kim has problems of her own.
When Emily arrives from England to give Stacy moral support, hotel manager Rico takes them on a trip to the Ticino on the other side of the alps. But the snow comes on the way home, and a terrible accident changes everything.
Left in charge of renovating Lakeside, Stacy soldiers on, hoping that the most important person in her brave new life will soon be back…
Escape to Switzerland with this lovely feel-good read and find friendship, romance and above all, travel! Perfect for fans of Jenny Colgan, Christie Barlow, Julie Shackman and Amanda James.
I enjoyed reading "Saving the Lakeside Hotel" so much that I was looking forward to reading how Stacy would find working there, rather than just being a guest. Her betrayal by ex-boyfriend David in England should have made her ready for a new relationship but she prefers to concentrate on the rebuild of the hotel as a spa and improving her language skills.
Having decided to put his IT career on hold, hotel manager, Rico, is anxious to do the best for the hotel, which had been so successful in the past, before his mother’s death. He is also hoping that he and Stacy will become closer, but soon even their friendship is in trouble.
In addition to these threads there is another strand in the plot about, Kim, a young Swiss woman trying to juggle her career with motherhood, against the wishes of her husband. Her friendship with Stacy helps both of them to work though their problems, while a catastrophe causes a dramatic but pleasing conclusion.
A great sequel to Saving the Lakeside Hotel. Stacy is back in Switzerland, working at the hotel where she and Emily passed a few days for a much-needed holiday. But living in another country and having to learn another language is a cultural shock.
I love how these stories immerse you in Swiss life, and the characters become more like friends with every book. There are trials and tribulations, some lighthearted moments, and plenty of tension, and it had me gripped all the way through!
It was clear from the first book that MMC liked FMC but the situation was not correct for either. Fast forward to this book & things are still not perfect & neither one seems to grasp the neither is life. With some twists & turns that had me rolling my eyes at them both they eventually work out what they want & the story ends. So onto the next to figure out if it all works out well in the end.

I was glad to be able to read book two of this series directly after finishing book one. Do you believe in love at first sight? What if it only hits one person that way? Read on to find out.
