Mommy Can't You See... His EYES Are Always On Me!

Rate this book
This book is a recollection of a child’s memory, based on a disturbing true story of child abuse, mine. Writing has been self healing for me. I am sharing my story for the first time, hopefully to inspire other victims to be brave enough to face their demons and to write it all down.

My books are written from the heart and I hope to inspire people to be the best that they can be.

I will be happy if my books touch even one life

I hope by sharing my stories it will to inspire people to be the best they can be.

Regardless of your situation, it is entirely up to you how you chose to live the rest of your life.

First you have to accept that if you were a victim. And as hard as it is, you have to let go of the hatred.

You have two choices in life.

Choose to be miserable and continue the cycle of abuse and ruin not only your own, but other people’s lives.

OR

Choose to do the exact opposite. Treat everyone with respect and kindness, just the way you wished you would have been treated.

I feel like I must always be on guard, but over the years have learned to trust and love.

My advice is to be very careful and selective of whom you chose to surround yourself and your loved ones with.

Never ever lose your sense of humor.

I start every day with a smile. First thing in the morning I smile to myself in the mirror and then I smile at everyone I meet daily. A smile is free and brings a little bit of much needed joy into life.

You will be surprised how many people’s day you can make a little bit brighter just by the moment you take to share a smile.

Go out and share a smile and maybe even a laugh today. You will be amazed at how happy it makes you feel inside. I love to share smiles and I love to laugh.

May God Bless You All!

"Mommy Can't You See...His EYES Are on me," by Carol Fetter is a self-published Indie autobiography for $3.99. It was an Award-Winning Finalist in the True Crime: Non-Fiction category of the 2012 International Book Awards.

I work in psychiatric emergency, and deal with sexually abused men and women as part of my normal duties. Sexual abuse is, unfortunately, a very common social problem. This is the first autobiography I have read on this subject and I highly recommend it. I believe Ms. Fetter's courageous exact account of her childhood, when a sexual predator moves into the family home with her and her mother, may help other victims of abuse. Further, it will assist those with normal childhoods begin to understand why such people are often driven to drug and alcohol abuse, self-harming behaviors and suicide.

Ms. Fetter's simple writing style portrays her childish innocence. She writes from the point of view of a ten year old, and one cannot help but completely empathize. Here is an excerpt:

"I love Friday nights. I get to watch Brady bunch first and then the Partridge family second. My two favorite shows in the whole world. I am definitely going to marry Greg Brady and Keith Partridge and Donny Osmond some day. I love them all. I will be so happy being married to them."

The contrast of this innocent child with a manipulative abuser is horrific and disturbing. How can a child explain what is happening when her every move is covered? Who will listen to her anyway? Who would believe her? The young victim does not understand and has no life experience to defend herself or explain to her mother what is going on. The pedophile is the classic manipulative and convincing sociopath, and the naive ten-year-old is utterly outmatched.

I recommend this 75 page book for those who wish to enlarge their experience, and who have a strong stomach! You will grow to love this innocent child, and rush through the book to find what happens to her. Compelling and horrific as a head on train wreck, it is an easy read, but not for the fainthearted!

Ms Fetter is an Ambassador for Childhelp and donates $1 from every purchase. Childhelp is an organization working toward the prevention and treatment of child abuse.

I can't recommend this book enough. I am awed and inspired by the courage and integrity of Ms Fetter, and her stubborn efforts to survive and rise above the terrible years of trauma that could have, and in fact would have destroyed a less determined individual.
