Johnny Cantu is a huge fan of the 1950's, he wears his hair in greaser style, listens to doo wop music and plays in a 50's tribute band. After graduating from high school Johnny gets a night shift job at a remote warehouse in New York City and finds an unusual machine in an old wooden shipping container he suspects is a time machine. Johnny learns to operate the machine and travels back to the 1950's and at first it is everything he hoped it would be. Johnny joins a doo wop band and falls in love with the bands lead singer sultry and beautiful Ella Smith. Their love is forbidden in the 1950's and they find themselves stranded in the wrong time.
