Rosalind "Roz" Hayes was born to be a star, so when she chased her passion from her daddy's little clapboard church to the hustle and bustle of Manhattan, she expected to see her name in lights over the big city. But Broadway's dark and dreary without the sparkling Julliard credentials to brighten the way. Determined to let nothing keep her from her dreams, Roz writes a play of her a one-woman show where naughty fantasies are spun into filthy realities for private audiences throughout the city. A show so wildly successful, it's been running for twelve years straight. Until this Friday, when Roz becomes a costar in someone else's production. Can our talented actress rise to the occasion, or will stage fright bring the curtains down once and for all?
Writer of multi-cultural erotica and seductive romances, and whatever else comes to mind. Tattooed vixen. Wicked humorist. Incurable humanist. Proud geek! Lover of pit bulls, fast cars, all music, and candy. Alter ego of adventure/thriller novelist Isadora Monday. That's the short version.
I'm a tough tomboy type with a hidden romantic streak, and I have a penchant for finding the funny in things. When not writing, I can be found reading everything from Steve Berry to Zecharia Sitchin, Walter Mosley to Iris Johansen. Words are wonderful things.
Other tidbits about me: I've got a degree in biology from UC Berkeley (Go Bears!), I'm a certified massage therapist, and a licensed bartender. I'm mother to two wonderful pit bulls, and I'm currently working on the design for my next tattoo.
This was an odd little book of erotic sex scenes that got progressively more interesting and frankly more salacious as it went along. I'm not complaining mind you. It just wasn't exactly what I was expecting but then I didn't know the term Doxy before I read this book. The book was inviting because it was well written and it was presented in a unique form as if it were a series of performances our main character Roz was giving with her clients. Roz had a distinctive voice which was worth listening to but honestly the book was most interesting in the scenes without any sex like the confrontation with the wife of a client in the restaurant and near the ending with someone who might have been close to Roz once and perhaps will be again. There's room to grow from here and see Roz again in the future but it's hard to know what Roz's Saturday looks like.
my first Sable Jordan read. quick, steamy, super hot (bust out the fan). I did find myself wanting more at the end... o, the cowboy's (sigh)! can't wait to see if the next story is just as entertaining. will definitely read more from her.
It's a good book not my favorite from this author. It's a fast easy read. It's short. The one reason I can say of my I'm not a huge fan of the book is their is a lack of connection between the characters. I know she is a Doxy, but she seems a bit delusional at times and the only real sliver of romance we get is at the very end. What I did like is the sex scenes are very hot! And we do get this happyish ending.
Such an original presentation of the life and times of one 'performer' of the world's oldest profession. Sable's writing style is a gift. Truly. The language itself such a seduction. So enticing and complete and fresh in its expression. So creative and innovative in her approach, this woman is a talent not to be ignored; a writer's writer. A 5-star read from start to finish.
