Berry Purple Betrayal: Hadley Home Design Cozy Mysteries Book 3

Rate this book
Hadley Sutton has an eye for style, an ear for gossip, and a nose for trouble.

Following a months-long interior design project at the town’s iconic ivy-wrapped mansion, Hadley finds herself at the top of the suspect list when she’s accused of killing the owner of the sprawling estate. Even worse, that list belongs to her flirty friend, Officer Dennis Appley.

Then evidence mounts against Hadley after a life-altering revelation leaves everyone stunned. Soon the entire town turns against her, jeopardizing the new life she’s built in Darlington Hills. Determined to prove her innocence, Hadley delves deeper into the mystery while working at Walnut Ridge, keeping her conniving competitor at bay, helping Carmella solve a surprising act of vandalism, and pursuing a budding romance with her boss’ brother. And with Officer Appley hot on her heels, she uncovers centuries-old secrets buried deep within the Ladyvale Manor that lead her closer to the truth—and danger—as the real killer will do anything to keep Hadley from learning what actually happened.

Berry Purple Betrayal is the third book in the Hadley Home Design Mystery Series. If you like sassy sleuths, enchanting small-town settings, twisty plots, and lighthearted whodunnits with a dash of sweet romance, you’ll love Emily Oberton’s cozy mystery series.

Another great book by Emily Oberton. This is the 3rd book in the Hadley Home Design Mystery series and I loved it as much as the 2nd.

In this installment, Hadley once again finds herself in the middle of a murder, but this time she is the prime suspect. She has to race against time to prove her innocence. While she is trying to prove she didn't commit murder, her friend Carmella has a mystery of her own. Carmella and Hadley are searching for the culprits who vandalized the high school where Carmella is the principal. During Hadley's investigation into the murder, it turns out that there were several people who had a motive for murdering the victim. But could Hadley's investigation get her killed!!

This book has so many twists and turns and the list of suspects just keeps growing as Hadley Unravels family secrets. If you enjoy small-town mysteries with a great protagonist, quirky characters, multiple suspects, surprises, and a bit of romance, this series is for you. This may be my favorite of the entire series. This is the last book in the series at this time but I am really hoping there will be more.

History and murder too

I really enjoyed this book, so much so that I wish I could check out the town and the historical house at the center of the action. Interior designer Hadley unexpectedly inherits the county's most historical home after a party where she is suspected of killing the previous owner. Shunned by many of the townspeople who think she is guilty, Hadley works to find the real killer while keeping up with her job and two prospects for romance. Meanwhile, a hurricane threatens to make life even more interesting and sets the stage for a confrontation with the killer since she is getting too close for his comfort. But never fear, after plenty of action, there is a happy ending.

I really enjoyed all 3 books in this series thus far. Good story lines and characters, intriguing mysteries. This book has so many twists and turns and the list of suspects just keeps growing as Hadley Unravels family secrets. If you enjoy small-town mysteries with a great protagonist, quirky characters, multiple suspects, surprises, and a bit of romance, this series is for you. favorite of the entire series. This is the last book in the series at this time but I am really hoping for more books in this series. Lemon Yellow Lies: Hadley Home Design Cozy Mysteries Book 1 is still my favorite. I have recommended this series to family and friends.

Hadley does it again!!

Hadley not only has a job of finding the killer in this latest installment; she's trying to save her reputation and avoid being convicted of the murder! She also has multiple mishaps that help the reader feel connected to her - Oberton has created a fun, lovable heroine who can be klutzy, have bad hair days, and keep the reader laughing and guessing what will happen next. I can't wait to begin book 4!

Another excellant book in Hadley Home Design Cozy mysteries series. Hadley just seem to be in always in the middle of the mystery no matter where it is. This one has a lot more twist and turns to keep you quessing at who the murderer might be. If you enjoy a good clean murder mystery then this series will be perfect for you.

I've read all 4

4 got s little confusing with who was dating who near the end of book.

When there is a series I don't usually review each one, but I will say awesome cozy mysteries. Each one builds on main characters personality and s!ight changes to scenery

Not great but not awful. Definitely didn’t hold my interest like the first two in the series.
