This was a great page turning, adventure with suspense, romance and a who dunnit therein.
This novel is part of a series but it seems to be able to be read as a stand alone novel as the author kept the reader up to speed with the main characters so didn’t feel that pieces were missing. However, the only part that didn’t make sense was the last chapters which switched to another female character’s story and her point of view …and tying up most of the parts about the main female character without her final point of view which had been front and centre for the rest of the book. But at the same time, this ending has the reader wanting to find out what happens next for Megan!
Martial physical relations were just alluded to so a clean read with enough romance to keep this reader happy!
Highly recommended - please read!
Received this as an Advanced Reader Copy via Bookspout and this is my own opinion given voluntarily.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Cassandra might be a happy newlywed, but there are still bumps in the road
a sloppy journalist, a politician who cares more about his own ego and pr than the folks around him, a big beautiful, loyal and kinda crazy dog, and various men with somewhat hush hush backgrounds and certain skills collide with women who really want a little peace and a quiet existence
highly unlikely- they are all trouble magnets
Megan and Cassandra are thrust into each others lives facing really bad publicity, and sometimes imminent lethal threats
can spunk, bravery and loyalty companions save them, or might they lose everything?
intense drama and action packed conundrums and whodunnits
Newly married Cass has gotten herself involved in an embezzling scandal and now a murder has happened. Three innocent people are being blamed. Cassandra feels she must help unwind who committed the crimes. Her friend, Megan and her giant dog try to helper. None of the innocents have any idea who did it. Read to the end to find out who is to blame and who survives the ending.
Although this one started a little slow for me, I have to remember that it is a 7-book series, and I've only read 1 and 7. So, I'm sure I missed ALOT that I had to catch up on.
However, once I "caught on", it was amazing. I am especially intrigued by the last four or five chapters. WOW! And I mean "WOW!"
Now my task is to read 2-6 so that I have the whole story.
With Cassandra and Briggs back from their honeymoon, they are confronted by slander, scandal and lies in an article from journalist Kevin Arnold who is staying at the Inn. Giving him a piece of her mind Cass is worried about the reputation of the Poppyridge Inn. But when he is found dead, Cass and Megan have to figure out who killed Kevin Arnold. With lots of twists and turns, you are treated to a good whodunit! I received and ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
Lies at Poppyridge Cove is an interestingly, twisted mystery. This mystery kept me well entertained and guessing all the way to the end. I especially enjoyed the clever way Ms. London merged this mystery with the Megan Henny Cozy Mystery series. I can never get enough Fred love!
A story that is well written, with all the things and all the feelings. I enjoyed meeting Megan and will follow up with her series. I recommend this author for a cozy good read.
I really enjoyed this book. I wish I had read them from the beginning to get the full story. The characters were enjoyable and the storyline was too. And loved Fred. Will definitely continue reading this series.
Fast moving murder mystery read. So many characters in and out of story made things hard to remember or keep track of what was happening. I do not think I will be purchasing any more from this author.
Poppyridge Cove Inn has another mystery, but so does a quaint city that shares similar traits. Who is the murderer, & who took stole the money from the the people in Seacrest? Why was Cassandra name when she has never been there or Megan when she has never been to Poppyridge? Who exactly is August or Amanda or Mayor Gunderlund? What about the woman named Celeste what is her role? But most of all how will a lovable Great Dane named Fred play into it all? All I can say is that this questions are answered along with a few more when you read the book. It will keep questioning until almost the very end.
This book has mystery and intrigue. The author keeps you guessing until the end of the story who the culprit was. This is a great ending to this series. If you like cozy mysteries, you will enjoy this book.
I received a free ARC, and this is my honest opinion.
