Missy returns to West Point after her semester at the Naval Academy. Things all seem to go nicely at first. Her mobster buddies are no longer causing problems. Things in the Mid-East are winding down and the U.S. will be withdrawing its troops later that year. Everyone is watching how the new administration in the U.S. will be handling things.
The transition team does have concerns, however. Once they discover supernaturals exist and how some of them have been helping defend the country, their initial reaction is to seek some rules for engagement. Missy is so powerful they consider her to be a weapon of mass destruction which must be controlled.
Then, the new Defense Secretary asks Missy to use her teleporting ability to do some more spying. What threats might there be from secret nuclear programs being carried out by their enemies? What will she find? And … what will she be asked to do about it?
P. G. Allison has always loved stories about female characters with special powers (Supergirl, Wonder Woman, Bionic Woman, Batgirl) along with stories about witches and werewolves. The Missy the Werecat Series is about a girl growing up with no pack, no pride of other werecats and no Alpha; Missy is a girl with fantastic abilities doing great things in today's world, amongst humans. Other books in this paranormal, new adult, urban fantasy series have Missy going on to West Point and eventually serving in the Special Forces.
I have stayed with the series thru 12 books now counting Tracey. Still an easy read to grab your attention. It would be nice if we had a Missy with all her strengths and character. Scary still would be a Missy on the other side. Just don't let the book banners in places like Fla read as they would ban Missy for her scandalous actions and lewd comments
I enjoyed the early books in this series, but I have found it more and more difficult to divorce these stories from the reality of the USA government. I know it is fiction, but the author has tied the stories into real world events and for the last few I can’t help thinking how could Missy and fellow supernaturals trust an administration that could end up being run by somebody like Trump. There is also the problem that in the real world the US has made a complete mess of the Middle East and Afghanistan. Early in this book I thought the author might have finally ‘bit the bullet’ and tried to address some of the issues, but I suppose the author has just gone with, this is fiction and American presidents are always rational, honourable people.
As for this story, the big problem with this book is quite a lot of it was basically a dating club and a boring domestic soap opera.
If possible I would have given 1.5 stars, I have been generous and rounded this up to two stars.
Great. Missy has had to retrain a new administration that she was friendly WMD
Missy is having a busy Junior year at West Point. With all her activities and now a new language to learn mixed with the activities the special forces still use her for she hardly has time for her boyfriend John. Thank goodness he is just as busy. There are new Iranian threats that have to be neutralized in ways that don’t compromise the USA. I have to admit I own all this series. This one isn’t as active as some but still really good. Also introduces all the players and lets you know there are some great stories behind the scenes. Look forward to next book.
Another worthy entry into the series. I hope P.G. will be willing to take things to the next step however. Meaning a character as powerful and influential as Missy is becoming will alter events on the world stage such that it will become most illogical to continue to follow the real worlds recent history timeline. Given the positive nature of Missy's personality I'm sure that overall the alternate world will be changed for the better.
I have been looking forward to this book so much. It did not disappoint. I stayed up all night reading and it was so worth it. I got caught up on so many side characters and met new ones too. There are new abilities to explore and I enjoyed every bit of it. I want to be Missy when I grow up. Enjoy!
What a great read. Missy keeps doing the impossible, but has a heart of gold. I would really like to let the author know that I am glad that personal politics are not in this book but just a fantastic story. Really can not wait for the next book. I also can't wait whom else will brought into the fold.
Love this series great story and characters each book leaves you wanting more , if you want a book that has adventures friendships that you like to be in or books that makes you laugh and cry, then this book is for you. This missy book series is a must read you only have to read the first and your be hooked. Enjoy reading can't wait for the next one!
Missy is so happy to return to West Point for the remainder of her third term. She has a new roommate and so does Tracy. Mike has rented an apartment nearby and life is good. There are changes in the administration, both at West Point and the federal level and things have taken a turn in Iran which requires her intervention.
Loved this newest addition to Missy series. I cant wait to see what hijinks she gets into in the next book. I really hope that there will be more chances to see the development of Missy and all the other characters.
This series continues to provide a simple, but fun story with patriotic, loyal characters. By simple, I mean not complicated but easy to follow so that you can enjoy the plot without the need of a PhD in nuclear physics.
I am really enjoying both of these series. Really captivation reading. I am really enjoying reading about Missy and Tracy their friends and loved ones. Looking forward to the next installment.
Overall very good on the positives. I like the fact that usually the good guys live and the bad guys die if needed. It’s to bad you have keep going back to explain things from other books, but i understand why it’s needed.
Another well written and interesting book by P. G. Allison. This series has not fallen into a pattern of “same as last just a different location “ . Looking forward to the next in the series.
I really enjoy reading about Missy’s adventures. I can also appreciate that it is getting harder and harder for the author to weave her magic into these fine tales. Missy’s gaining more and more power is making her life more and more unique.
I enjoy this series. Very creative and aware of world conditions. I do not feel though that it is necessary to encourage youth to have free sexual relations outside of marriage as these books encourage. Other wise great story telling. David s
I can't wait for more. The characters and plots are first rate. Definitely my newest favorite author. I can't wait to see the next one. I really look forward to the rest of those series and highly recommend it.
Another great Missy adventure! I really enjoy all that Missy and her friends do and all the stuff they get into. I love learning about all the new powers Missy keeps gaining and all her michevous adventures she has.
This series was very good. I enjoyed reading them all. I look forward to seeing more adventure and character (s) development as they age out and change with life growth. Do keep use waiting to long for the next installment and spinoffs.
I enjoy reading how Missy is continuing to grow in her knowledge and her friends. She loves her country and always tries to do the right thing without violence. She defends herself as needed.
Again she is a person (supernatural) that is not to be messed with. Even with new supervisors she can hold her own. Her character grows stronger with each book. The author is doing a great job with the main character and her friends.
Iran decided to create nuclear weapons! Will Missy be able to find where they are storing the raw materials and where they plan to manufacture them! Can’t wait for the next one!
