I have never heard of this author before, but for sure I am going to keep an eye out for her.
The plot and style reminded me a bit of Alisyn Fae`s The Fae Prince of Everenne installment. If there is a trend that wants to emerge, I am here for it. I want to read about complicated political schemes and plots taking place in courts populated by immortal beings with enormous power and kinky issues.
However, in what concerns this book I would have liked to see more work done on worldbuilding because it feels like only the main love interest has some solid character development, while the rest (including the main character) are some un-denominated characters.
I also take issue with the way the main character comes to have her powers. She is given the blood of the fae/elven lord and she becomes like him (or something that can be considered close to his kin). It weirds me out a bit how he falls in love with her, afterward. Because, technically she is like a sister or at least some blood relative – IF- she transformed after she received his blood -meaning that her organism received his blood. (But, I am trying to make an abstraction of that, even now while reading the second book).
But, overall, it was a fun read. I recommended it, for sure.
