Scarlet infiltrates a slave auction in order to obtain evidence of fraud by Minister Godwin. After mowing down multiple vile and corrupt aristocrats, she eventually confronts the mastermind, Godwin. But then all of a sudden, she's faced the Crimson Dragoons of the Vankish Empire, the kingdom's longstanding enemy! Don't miss the second volume of this popular fantasy about a young and beautiful villainous with a martial arts background!
damn the dragons are so nerfed, though Scarlet is strong she shouldn't be able to defeat a dragon so easily, to begin with, they ain't even the same species, but the dragons here are just lame-ass big lizards that can fly and breathe fire
Oh my goodness, my heart is reeling from how EPIC this volume was, and just how crazy that cliffhanger was because talk about a complete game change for this story!!!
If volume one was really good, volume two is extremely good! The action is even bigger, better, stronger, and funnier compared to volume one! Not only that, though, the heart that was woven in concerning moments with Nanaka really touched me because Scarlet may be out to punch all the villainous nobles, but she isn't ruthless just to be ruthless. The way she genuinely cares for Nanaka speaks a lot about her character, that not only can she be (and is) very caring, but she has a strong sense of justice, too.
It just happens to come out through her fists… LOL!
One thing I was shocked by was the romance that took place very early on! Oh my goodness!! I WAS SQUEALING!! And not just at that scene, but a later one too, because it was just too good!! I cannot wait to see what unfolds later on because surely this is going to be a ship that sails?! And early at that?!
Going back to the action, though, it was so incredibly awesome! I feel I was deep into reading and was shocked it ended because of how fun it is to see Scarlet having a good time beating everyone up! LOL! She's definitely not like any other villainess I've read before, and I'm VERY excited to see what's to come next in her story!
Also, the new character that came on page later on…I can't wait to see him again! LOL!
So cute and fluffy. Moving into slave auction territory and a lot of sum getting the smack down. Scarlet has a new admirer that rides a dragon, whilst Julius shows a bit of his magic. Ends on a cliffhanger. I dislike the heroine so looking forward to her beatdown.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This one continues with the gang getting together to take down some more corrupt nobles and bust up a slave auction with the help of Scarlet's Beastman butler Nanaka. Getting to beat people up and dispense justice...how can our FL say no to that fun?
Julius continues to be a little sketchy and a pain in the butt- and Scarlett's older brother continues to get ulcers over her actions. We also get introduced to a growing religious scheme and a Dragon knight from an unfriendly country getting in on the mix.
It's hard to believe that with so much violence you can still enjoy it so much, but I think the reason the violence doesn't become too much is that comedic slapstick nature it has. I do have to say though, someone who doesn't like violent slapstick is not going to have a good time. I feel like the entire nature of the heroines personality revolves around this violent inclination. Thank goodness that she is rather righteous as well, so she only gets the satisfaction from bringing violence to criminals.
The story in this volume wraps up the slavery auction arc but the big reveal at the end puts the story on its new spin, and actually has me super intrigued. Looking forward to the next volume!
I liked this volume more than the first! It had a lot more action and we got to see more world-building solidified by a good showcase of the characters’ powers. I also love the twist at the end, of someone in a fantasy setting introduced as a reincarnation from the modern world. I’m curious about the third one! (And more Prince Julius hehe - I’ve actually come to like him more here, not from his out-of-nowhere confession but just because he encourages Scarlet’s love of beating people up AND enjoys the list of nicknames she has collected over time)
This series has a plot other than punching, and it is being introduced in this book. There are a lot of plot beats in here, and the art continues to shine. Just, it cuts out just before the really good punching bag gets introduced to my girl's knuckle sandwich.
While volume one impressed me more for its humor and spectacular characterization than its artwork, volume 2 rewards with superb art—and Scarlett’s continued antics. The greater physicality and wit lends itself to a protagonist who loves punching people.
Love how we got more detail about the powers and the characters. The Prime minister got his just deserts so I'm happy. Looking forward to seeing how the plot will progress.
full review on the first volume, but a fantastic work with a lot of time and care put into it. i truly adore this series, and could probably read it every day without getting tired
