Sooo it’s getting to the point that I’m now buying a. True crime that I’ve already read from the library or 2. Buying a true crime by a different author from the original book I read a year or more ago of the same crime. For example I started this book and thought it sounded familiar and really good. Yeah so I read it awhile back and gave it four stars. So read this book! It’s a suspenseful murdey story

There were a few problems with this book IMO opinion, althought nothing earth-shattering. I found one, literally one, error in the entire book which pleased me to no end after the horrific editing mistakes I've come across in the past month or two.
Now for my opinions:
I think it sucks and was for no reason other than shock value for Glatt to put excerpts from the victim's emails to another woman she was having an on-line affair with. As far as I can see there is absolutely no reason to include them. How mortifying for her family. I'd love to ask Glatt what the point of that was. I can understand that having to come out in court but 'I wanted all the information available to the public' doesn't work for me here. There was no need and it was insulting to me on behalf of the victim and her family. It's bad enough they had to hear all of it in court.
I also don't understand why the husband was listed as a survivor in the victim's obit. Her sister wrote the obit so why in the living hell was her murderer included? WTF?
The victim's parents found there way around this, thank God above, but why in the world is the husband of a murdered wife allowed to give directions to not only have his wife cremated but be allowed to pick up the ashes at his descretion, all the while under suspicion of murdering said wife? I'm sorry but it seems to me that there should be a law that negates any and all marriage rights when the other person is being investigated for the other persons murder. Had he got the ashes what would that have done to the family, on top of everything else? I applaud the parents for doing what they did with her ashes. I'd have done the same exact thing myself.
There were a few confusing instances, one where the lead detective asked the defendant's brother how he knew that his wife was dead before he was notified. A few pages earlier it was written that a friend called the defendant to "break" the news to him.
When the case went before a grand jury, and after the grand jury heard testimony from the defendant's brothers, the lead detective withdrew the case from the grand jury's consideration. Huh? That's it - no more info on that. It makes no sense and I'd like to know the decision behind that personally. I think that's very important to this story and this book.
The defendant's sister-in-law, Edwina Tims, is portrayed like a hungry vulture and I think Glatt portrayed her correctly. It was hilarious at the end, when the husband confesses, and then she above all, but the rest of his family too, look like the assholes they are. God forbid, if someone in my family murdered someone I would stand by them...BUT I would NOT make excuses for them and I would NOT make the victim(s) or the victim(s) families look bad. His family should be ashamed of themselves with Tims heading the list. I can only hope she stumbles upon this review at some time or another - YOU'RE A DISGUSTING HUMAN BEING. Almost as disgusting as your brother-in-law and you dare spout that you're a Christian? Laughable.
Lastly, and this is right at Glatt - stop putting the false advertising on your books that say it's full of "alarming" and "shocking" photos.....unless it is. Read my updates for more info on this. I know ALL t.c.'s do this but it's endlessly annoying to flip to the photo section and see the prosecutor's face as a "shocking" photo, the high school the murderer went to, his home he grew up in, the city sign for the city he lived in, etc. STOP IT.

I love true crime books but this has to be the most boring true crime book I have ever read in my life. It was very badly formatted for Kindle and it was just all facts and quotes really. There was no real story and to be honest the ending summed up the entire book in like 2 pages which could have just saved me a lot of time if I just read that.

This book was well written and only stated facts about the murders of Dolly Hearn and Jennifer Corbin.

I felt that the evidence was nicely laid out and in an order that was easy to understand.

The only problem I had was, because it was just all the evidence and facts, there wasn't much storytelling to keep an interest.

Heartbreaking

This was another good book by John Glatt, but I feel so sad for the two boys. I would have liked an update on how they are doing.

This was a pretty jacked up story or well thing that happened because it wasn’t a story it was real. I mean this guy got away with murder once and then almost twice. Honestly though I don’t think he was very smart about it in either situation. But it was a good read.

For months, the young son of Bart and Jennifer Corbin had told anyone who would listen that he was afraid of the violence that went on behind the closed doors of his elegant Georgia home. Then on the morning of December 4, 2004, 7-year-old Dalton ran to a neighbor's house, sobbing. What was uncovered was almost unbelievable to the Corbins' neighbors: Jennifer Corbin was engaged in a secret cyber-sex lesbian affair and successful dentist Bart Corbin had a bizarre and frightening past.

Jennifer Corbin's death looked like suicide. But that didn't fool young Dalton, and in the coming weeks the police uncovered an even more horrifying story: Dr. Corbin had been left by a woman before, and he may have gotten away with murder once but justice would make sure that he stood trial this time.

I have to say that I really enjoyed this book. I actually turned on the television last night and saw that a television movie of the case was being broadcast. I didn't watch it, but I certainly give this book an A!

It was a well written book that wasn't drawn out and boring for a change. It saddens me that this sort of thing happens but what he put his children through was utterly disgusting. I'm pissed he took the plea bargain I would have rather he be really dumb and go to trial where he would of got what he deserved. Alas if the verdict appeased the families I guess that's good enough for me. My heart goes to the families robbed of such beautiful women and to the poor children that had to be put through hell at such a young age. Heather your a bright light in the dark God and Jennifer smile down on you for your strength and courage keep up the good work. As for the Corbin family you did what u felt to be right don't blame yourselves for the evil your son portrayed. Bart your a sick man that will be dealt with harshly when the time comes. Hope only leads me that your time in hell will be wretched. It's the least you deserve.

Very fast read - a story of a successful dentist who murders his wife, in the same way that he murdered his girlfriend while in dental school fourteen years previously. The old murder was classified as a suicide, and he thought he could get way with it a second time. After he killed his wife, which no one believed was a suicide, the original murder was brought into light, and he was convicted of both murders.
