Three hedgehogs living in a little house on a farm are desperately hungry and decide to steal three apples from the orchard. This infuriates the farmers who set out on an expedition to arrest the thieves. But a witness has some surprising new proof that turns the criminals into heros.
Word play and visual puns abound in this witty and enchanting book by a brilliant young Spanish author and illustrator.

These illustrations are marvelous! The story has a strange pace, possibly an effect of it being translated from another language, and it's terribly short, but I liked it. Would definitely read to a very young child.
Me encantó que está organizado como una obra de teatro, con actos, personajes, etc, y al final le explican a los niños lectores conceptos como colofón y pantomima, para entender mucho mejor la narración. Además los dibujos son preciosos y la historia es súper bonita. Lo amé.
This was absolutely precious. Hedgehogs are one of my favorite animals of all time and this was just so sweet and endearing. (I also recommend looking up Jude Law reading it out loud )
I saw this while I was weeding at the library and I love hedgehogs, so I had to stop and read it.
It was... interesting. I got the feeling it was written more as an exercise than an actually written-for-children book. It's presented as 2 pantomimes and a colophon, yet a glossary at the end explains that neither of the terms are actually used in their typical definitions. The illustrations also incorporate a lot of foreign words from several languages, which makes for a very strange experience until you come to the end and find they are also included in the glossary.
Picked this up at the library...my son and I LOVED it. We got to the Glossary and kept going back to get more and more from the story. SO CUTE and VERY interesting for my soon to be six year old who is interested in foreign languages! The illistrations allow for a BIG story told in a pantomime in two acts and a colophon. Spanish is interesting to my son since kids in school speak Spanish. I took French so he was impressed that I knew ANYTHING besides English and we both liked the Latin references. Great, quick read which keeps us thinking long after the story has been told.
