Two centuries after Victor Frankenstein's monster escapes to the Arctic, three scientists head to the North Pole to investigate a mysterious ship found frozen in the ice and stumble upon Frankenstein's notes about the creation of his creature, an experiment that the modern-day scientists set out to re-create. Original.
This is a fun Frankenstein ('s monster) novel. I suggest it more as a companion to the movies than to Shelley's original. The characters are not the same, just the process. It's a contemporary setting, or rather one that starts thirty years ago and ends up in the present. It isn't the best-written book that I've ever picked up, but it tells a good story in a sympathetic manner with some pleasing twists and turns in the plot. Remember... There's a light... Over at the Frankenstein place.
I really enjoyed this book. I love the benevolence bestowed upon the creature. I love the whole tale. It took some effort finding a copy in good condition, but it was well worth said effort. I'm happy to have this in my library.
