Always a fan of romantic fiction, I've always been in love with the alpha-male. So in love, I've never been quite satisfied with the restrictions of series romance. I like to get into a guy's mind and have him do or say exactly what he's feeling at the moment, and sometimes I shock even myself! I consider my stories soft erotica; one man, one woman, heterosexual. But since abiding love is always the happy ending I'm looking for, my couples are always monogamous. My guy would never share his woman with anyone, and she is always enough to satisfy him. Since I believe that love starts with lust, my stories are always highly sexual, explicit in nature, and hopefully totally satisfying to my readers. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writing them.

"I love you. I need you. You belong to me."

Hot damn! This novella totally set me on fire!

With her captivating writing style, Lynda Chance has delivered another winner—Seduced by the American Millionaire. It was a juicy and sexy short story with endearing characters and steamy sensual erotica.

I feel like it’s been a long time since I last read older couple romance. In this book, the hero is fifty and the heroine is forty-three years old. I didn't know that until I found out for myself from the story, and did I mind? Not at all. In fact, I was surprisingly pleased with how sparkling their chemistry was. Even though Richard is fifty, he's still hot and sexy as hell! He could easily melt me into a puddle with his possessiveness. Yeah, possessive heroes = my kryptonite. Their sexy times were mind-blowingly scorching, completely beyond my imagination. This novella ruined me for other erotic stories!

"Why do you think you can tell people that I belong to you?"
"Because you do."
"No, I don't." Her voice was even.
"Yes, you do. You're mine. You belong to me. Mine."

Just simple like that and I loved it!

”I’m fifty. Shit. That sounds old when I say it out loud.”

Yay, a hero who is actually older than me….

And a heroine in her forties.

Loved the description of his house..

… and his kitchen…

”Richard, stop. We have to talk about this. I can’t believe you’re trying to bribe me with your kitchen. I can’t sell my house and move because I love your kitchen.”

This was typical Lynda Chance, arrogant, overbearing, want to be in control Alpha Male. What’s not to like.

Sweet Satisfying Smut.

I liked this LC between an older h/H - a dangerous looking club owner and a sweet single mom who's trying out newfangled wings. He's uber dominant (does LC do any other kind?) who likes to get his own way and she's seemingly acquiescing but is not above a bit of manipulation of her own.

Hot-OTT jealous alpha hero and soft-feminine heroine in their 40’s.
This was a quick fun-steamy read. I enjoyed it so much that I wanted more of Richard and Jenny.

Seduced by the American Millionaire has two tiles. Some places I see it under the title The Mobster and the Soccer Mom. This was a nice read. I think this was the author's first book which isn't bad, but I love the two pervious books.

Jenny is a shy and divorce   mom of twin boys in college. She was meeting her girlfriends for a night out, but ended up at the wrong restaurant. She was in the restaurant that is owned by Richard. Richard is a hustler who makes his money anyway he can. When Richard sees Jenny, he thought she was a lady of the night. Jenny also thought Richard was a mobster. But after 3 hot steamy nights,  and Richard's controlling ways both will try to pursue more.

The author does make her men controlling, but each male character in her books are so driven by desire, the men goes crazy. I think some women just like a take charge kind of guy in their read. This is ok with me because it brings out the steamiest romance and sex between the two characters. Richard was a bit paranoid for Jenny's safety but he meant well. I also thought Richard was sexy and very caring. I loved how he treated Jenny, he made her feel like she was the only one in the world. Jenny was not use to the environment and guys like Richard, which made her seem naive at times, but it works well in this story. Another nice read. I wish I could find a site for the author, so I could know about her upcoming books.

**re-read** This is book one in the Louisiana Liaison series. When Jenny plans a night out with her friends but accidentally goes to the wrong location she never thinks that she will find someone like Richard. Richard knows when he see's Jenny she isn't in the right place, his bar isn't a place for someone like her. The longer he see's her the more he wants her and he's sure if he can have her he will be able to get her out of his system. Jenny has never met anyone like Richard and isn't the type to have a only physical relationship but can't deny her attraction to Richard. The more time Richard and Jenny spend with each other the more the lines of their "relationship" become blurred and the more it seems that they both want a real relationship. Let me just say that I love Lynda Chance I've read several of her books and she knows what she's doing she makes you connect with everyone in her novels and care about them. Her heroes are fantastic they are demanding possessive, strong, controlling crazy in love men and I LOVE them. Richard was no exception he saw what he wanted and took her. Lynda Chance is one of if not the best at writing a short story, I never feel like I've missed anything and I never feel rushed. This was a great start to a series.

This book was really short but kept me interested the entire time. It starts out with Jenny walking into a bar, the wrong bar. There she meets the owner of the bar Richard. Richard knows from looking at her she is not the normal bar whore that hangs out in his bar looking to hook old men for money. He also know he wants her.

This book takes almost no time to read and usually i don't enjoy those short reads. There isn't time for a relationship to develop and build. Not enough time for details. In a way this book showed me I was wrong. That was still an issue to some extent but the way author just jumps right into the relationship, and the couple stays together the whole time it doesn't seem like this book is missing anything. Usually there are a lot of side characters and filler material in full length novels and I think Lynda Chance has done a great job of writing short romances and keeping them interesting.

FREAKIN H.O.T. THIS HAS GOT TO BE ONE OF THE SUPER MAX ALPHA MALES I'VE EVER READ. RICHARD IS TERRIBLE BUT I LOVED HIM ANYWAY, DOMINATING AND SWEET AT THE SAME TIME. POOR JENNY DIDN'T STAND A CHANCE, AFTER A WHILE I DON'T THINK SHE REALLY CARED. SHE JUST WENT ALONG WITH THE WOOONDERFUL FLOW OF THEIR RELATIONSHIP. THEY REMINDED ME OF THAT OLD COMMERCIAL "BET YA CAN'T EAT JUST ONE" THAT'S HOW THEY FELT ABOUT EACH OTHER. IT WAS CLEAR THEY COULDN'T JUST KNOCK-DA-BOOTS ONE TIME AND THINK IT WOULD BE ENOUGH. UH-UH! HELL-TO-THE-NO!!!!

I have read a few by Lynda Chance now and they are all short stories. However the hot factor is there. The men are all possessive, jealous, cavemen types and I am not complaining.
This was the first one I have read of her books and I really liked it. I love these alpha men types with there dominant seduction techniques. If you like that sort of thing, you will enjoy her books.

Well, I read the whole novella without DNF, so there’s that.

To be fair, I dislike novellas because they’re so often written with insta-love or insta-lust. This story was insta-obsessed/possessive/lust and love all at once, right from the first chapter. Hero was 50 and heroine 42, yet she came off as an inexperienced teenager.

Totally unrealistic storyline, obviously written to appease a specific fantasy for older women (?). I didn’t enjoy the story as it was just too unbelievable… lol at one point the heroine is inner dialogue’ing how ‘the hero is acting so different suddenly, he’s never acted like this before’. Um, they had literally only known each other for less than 24 hours 🥴.

Another part of me was thinking, ‘oops! The triggered/offended book police are not gonna like this, or that!’ 😂

Still love this author, I’m just not a fan of novellas I guess.

aka The Mobster and the Soccer Mom.

Starts out, Jenny is supposed to meet her friends at a restaurant for dinner. She sits at the bar having a drink to wait for them. While she's sitting, she notices a man sitting in a booth giving her some pretty rough, mean-like looks. On his table is a leather portfolio and two cell phones, and a Bouncer, or maybe he's a Body Guard comes over to talk to him. She's pretty sure the man is a Mobster.

Richard owns the bar, and knows Jenny is either in the wrong place or is a cop, and either way, he needs to get rid of her. He sends his man to tell her the Boss wants to talk to her in his office. She goes to his office with the idea that one of her friends had called on the phone.

Richard comes in and slams the door behind him and scares her. He is struck by how much hotter she is close up than she looked from across the room. He wants her.

"Richard looked at the woman in front of him. She was nervous. She was sexy. She was his next fuck."

Jenny is a 43-year-old mother of twin boys who've moved away to college, and recently divorced from her cheating husband of almost 20 years (the only guy she'd ever been with, who wasn't that great at sex).

Richard is 50, but still hot and good-looking, and very, very good at sex.
He recognizes she's nervous and skittish and realizes he's going to have to seduce her, unlike the his usual type of women who just jump into bed with him.

"Okay. Here's the deal. I know you think it's too soon to have sex."
"I know you've got this good girl thing going on, and I respect that. I'm trying to respect that. But babe, I've got to at least touch you now. I can't wait to touch you."

Jenny feels safe with him, and decides she doesn't want to go the rest of her life wondering what it would have been like with him, so decides to have the affair with him.

The story kinda goes downhill after that.
He tries to boss her around a couple of times, but she doesn't let him get away with it.

He starts to come off kinda pw'd.

She goes to his bar and sees a woman flirting with him and thinks he's going to cheat like her husband. She flips out and leaves, refusing to tell him what the problem was. He spent a bad weekend, then went and begged her to tell him what he'd done wrong.
He apologizes, they make up, then he wants her to sell her house and move in with him.

She tells him she can't love him, because he's a mobster.
Of course, he's not really.

Oh well. There still were some really hot sex scenes that made the book worth reading.

talk about guilty reading....Seduced by the American Millionaire by Lynda Chance is mine. I first read this short story 2/24/12, then re read it again 6/20/12 then 9/20/12 and now again. I noticed I did not write a review for this short (only 79 pages) story. It is book one in a series of Ms. Chance's Louisiana Liaisons. Three books about three divorced women looking to move on with their lives.

Book one Seduced by the American Millionaire is about 43 year old Jenny Babin, a bookkeeper and divorced mother of college age twin boys. Life in the suburbs has been domestic, not daring for Jenny and on a fateful trip into the city to meet her two friends for dinner finds herself in the wrong restaurant. There she meets Richard Bergeron, 50 years old, the owner of the club she mistakenly thinks is the place she is to meet her friends. Richard lives in a dark underworld where money is made and lost with a roll of the dice. Jenny is drawn into an erotic relationship filled with passion, dominance and dark persuasion.

I have re read this contemporary romance over the years maybe 7 times. Why you ask, because it is that good. Still a five star read and one of my go to comfort reads.

Richard our hero is a ALPHA as you can get. The passion is hot and sizzling, rating is a 9, and there is plenty of it. I really like this story because even though there is a lot of sex, Ms. Chance did write an interesting short romance with strong and interesting characters. I would strongly recommend this story and it could be your guilty pleasure also. I will be re reading Book Two next.....

I read these books in reverse. Had I read them in order I would say by book 3 the author got progressively worse in her story-telling.

Book 1.

Jenny is fabulous, I love that she knows what she wants and is just enough shy and coy as she is a tigress.

Richard is awesome, the right kind of possessiveness with excellent kindness, protectiveness and hotness…for 50. The BEST part of Richard was when Jenny asked him why he hadn’t gone limp after coming, and he said he could stay hard with no problem. That was hot.

If I had read this book first I would look forward to book 2 and be disappointed that it wasn’t as good as book 1. Then if I read book 3 I would have been pissed that I had to pay for book 3 because it wasn’t as good as 1 or 2.
Good luck.

Wow, I was pleasantly surprised.

The story starts out with an intense attraction between the two characters. For a short story, I thought the characters were pretty well developed and their motivations were clear. The love scenes were hot and heavy. The characters are mature too, she's 43 and he's 50.

I loved the alpha "you're mine" attitude of the hero. The price was great too (.99).

Jenny goes to a bar intending to meet some friends for dinner. The problem is she’s at the wrong bar. While she’s sitting their sipping her drink she notices a man across the way staring at her. She notices that it seems he is eyeing everyone in the bar but especially her. Richard is a man who owns a bar that isn’t just a bar but only some of his patrons know that. As he’s sitting one night observing the activities he notices a woman that just doesn’t fit in. He has one of his people approach her and tell her that she has a phone call in his office. The thing is Jenny didn’t know that it was a ruse for him to approach her and succinctly tell her that he wants her for sex not just that night but for three consecutive nights. Things get hot and bothered fast but you will have to read yourself to see what happens. I enjoyed the ins and outs of what looked like a dominance all lead by Richard but you will be surprised at how things progress after such a short time.

When Jenny enters into a club thinking that her friends were going to meet her there. She realizes a few things one is she is in the wrong place another is that Richard the owner has hew on his radar and he has nothing but smutty desires of what he wants to do with her on his mind. This short story sizzles and had me all caught up in Richard and Jenny from start to finish.

RESUME
An Erotic Novella of Desire and Temptation
Life in the suburbs has been domestic, not daring. A fateful trip into the city delivers unsuspecting single mom Jenny Babin into the hands of ruthless Richard Bergeron.

Richard lives in a dark underworld where money is made and lost with a roll of the dice.
Jenny is drawn into an erotic relationship filled with passion, dominance and dark persuasion.

Can she escape Richard's control before it's too late? Or will her time in the city become the life she's always dreamed of?

IN MY OWN WORDS
Jenny, a single mom, is meeting her 2 friends at a bar for fun and drinks. She ends up in the wrong bar (how clumsy of her) and meets Richard, the owner of the establishment. It's obvious for the man that she is indeed at the wrong place. A pick up bar is NOT where an obvious soccer mom should be. He decides to let know and let her go but the instant attraction they feel will lead them on the path of discovery. For her, it will be about letting go of control in all shapes and forms. For him, it will be about acknowledging his feelings...And make sure she doesn't slip by him.

MY REVIEW
If you have read some of my other reviews, you already know I'm a fan of Lynda Chance. I did, indeed, enjoy the book, even if it was a short story (it comes with it's limitation, as we know). I fell in love with Richard in all his possessiveness and macho-alpha-male-i'm-in-charge type from the very beginning.

However, it kind of left me hanging because you expect it to be a backing in his past or his profession to support this side of his personality. Being a club owner is not sufficient to explain either his fortune of shady past. Unfortunately, it's a great example of the shortcomings of a short story because all this side information is put on the back burner and is not there to complete the story.

There is also the fact that for a single mom who made it on her own, she's freakin' clueless! so much so, it sometimes feels like you are in front of a blushing teenager!! A little annoying at times. I like my heroine to have somewhat of a backbone because with the men they are confronted with, it's imperative if don't want to get walked all over.

I always end up re-reading myself and wonder if anyone would pickup the book after going over this review but rest assure, you should. It's still a good short story that you will likely enjoy and you'll probably be inclined to pickup the 2 other related stories afterwards!

MY CLASSIFICATION
Type: Contemporary erotic romance (or Romantica, as I like to call it)
Keyword: Alpha-male, Possessive Hero
Intimacy: Sizzling

MY RATING
I gave it a 3 stars, but only compared to her other books. As it was one of her first, I would say it's darn good but she does only get better.

I gave this book 4 stars because I like Lynda Chance. I love her alpha males. I also love the way her books get to the point. This book was short. I needed more. It ended so abruptly. An epilogue would have been great. I would love to know what the future held for these two.

Jenny met Richard when she was suppose to meet her friends for dinner and ended up at the wrong place. He was drawn to her right away. For one thing she was so out of place in his bar and he was very much attracted to her. That's how things get started. Richard is not a relationship man, but Jenny is different and he falls for her. Jenny is a divorced mother of 2 boys in college. She falls for Richard too, even though he is incredibly bossy.

I like Lynda's books because there isn't a lot of unnecessary actions taking place - boring me to death. lol

Anyway this is a quick read. I finished it in one sitting.

All I can say is awe-some book~ I really love Lynda Chance's writing style because it is always simple, sweet, and hot. My only legitimate complaint is that the title is a bit random. There is not a lot of explanation about Richard's wealth and I can think of some many more accurate descriptions of him or even titling the book after Jenny would be an improvement. The book is mostly about her anyways: his obsession with her and his immediate need and hunger for her drives him and his whole personality throughout the book. We don't really see Richard except in the context of Jenny and his desire for her and that is the best part! The ending was a bit more abrupt than I think we deserved, but otherwise the quick pace was good.

This is a short story in a trilogy based on 3 friends who are divorced with children that are supposed to meet for dinner but all 3 of them gets derailed. I would say out of the 3 books this one is the best. By the 3rd book the writing style is boring. It is a quick read I read the book in about 3 hours. It was okay for a novella. It had okay love scenes but there was no character devlopment. The info about the book gives you more than the actual book itself. If you had a few hours on a plane or a layover and you wanted to read a quick sensual story this would be good. If you are looking for a romance novel with character development and not just steamy sex scenes keep looking.
