I grew up on a farm. No kidding. I did...complete with cattle, chickens, a passel of kids, and rows of vegetables. So, when I wasn't dodging siblings, feeding animals, or pulling weeds, I was hiding away in my bedroom with a book.

With maturity came love and marriage, and a real understanding of why my parents kept their bedroom door locked. *wink*
Now, I've turned a love of books into a sensual journey through the steamy world of erotic romance. Or is that romantic erotica? Well, one thing's for certain, the heroes and heroines have a great time as they fall in love.

As I live my dream by bringing the characters in my mind to life on the printed page, I want to thank my wonderful husband for his inspiration, support and patience, but most of all for letting me hog the computer!

First of all, can someone please point me in the direction of the town that is home to the incredible Falke brothers?? I have to say what is not to love about a story that has a set of quadruplet brothers and a set of triplets, two more brothers and sister?? Oh, and have I mentioned that all the males can shift into beautiful Pumas, and they take their mates in pairs, que the menage!! See, this book just gets better and better. The set of Quads are Axel, Gunner, Kelan & Reider, in that order. In book one Axel & Gunner found their mate and now, in Falke's Captive it is Kelan & Reider's turn.

Beth Caldwell is a student who studies animal genetics and is in town to track and tag big cats. When she gets into town she unexpectedly meets Kelan and Reider at the local bar and immediately she can see her self as the filling in a Kelan & Reider sandwich.(I love a girl who knows what she wants) She lucks out right away and sees a cat out running and shoots it with a tranquilizer to tag, little does she know she has just caged Kelan in his Puma form. He is able to get away but not before she takes a blood sample from him and realizes the cat does not have normal big cat DNA.

Stories of shifters are some of my favorite stories and this one is no exception, as Kelan & Reider discover that Beth is indeed their mate, and they have to trust her enough to let her know their secret. This book has it all, gorgeous shifters, hot sex, menage, and a bit of intense suspense. I would suggest this series to anyone who loves a good hot shifter story!!

This was a nice story just not as good as the first on this series but that just might be me. I really enjoyed the way the authors wrote the capturing of one of the brothers. It was downright funny and believable. As I was reading it I said it’s about time someone came at it with this approach.

The connection between these 3 was good but I didn’t feel the heat between them like I did in the first coupling in the first book. You get an m/f/m sex with anal. I felt the story was good but at times it didn’t hold my attention.

Overall this is a good read that I know some of you will love. I can’t wait for Heidi’s book.

Don't know why I picked up this one when I didn't really enjoy book 1, but I wanted a light shifter read and I already had it loaded on my phone so I thought why not. I'm not going to say too much other than I thought the heroine was annoying, dialogue was cheesy and the BDSM aspect was ridiculous. Overall it was a meh read for me so I'll go with that it just wasn't my cuppa.

I love a good PNR :) This one was a lot of fun :) I loved the shifters - Puma's - they're great animals - and I really want to get to know them more - especially if they travel in pairs :D

The humour in this book is awesome - I loved to laugh! Ok the Falke Brothers- the oldest set of Quadruplets is Axel, Gunnar, Kelan and Reidar - in that order - then the younger set of triplets was Sindre, Torsten, and their only sister Heidi as the baby. ... Being Shifters, their world is a little different then what we're use to - they're not sure how many shifters are out there, since they keep to themselves, but this family, along with their 2 father's, are the only ones in this part of Washington...
It takes 2 males to mate with a human female in order to have children of their own (they don't go into details but...) the oldest two brothers, Axel and Gunner had just found their mate (read about their story in Book one Falke's Peak - but you don't have to read the first book to read this one :) . They had been taking a lot of time off from work, and no one was happy about it.

SO there they were chatting it up at the Bar when Kalen heads up to the bar to refill their drinks, that's when Reidar sees Beth.

Beth approaches the bar and orders her drink, just as she sits down to look at the menu, Kelan takes off his collar and recommends the steak -
They start talking and laughing, and then Reidar slides in next to Beth taking her attention away from Kelan... Now there is no jealousy, these two guys (identical) have shared women before - and they know that they will be sharing a mate some day, but they weren't ready for that now... at least they didn't think they were...

The wooing is fun and playful way to get to know these guys. They seem to hit it off pretty well with Beth, but they don't want to push the subject of the two of them together - so they walk her to her hotel and give her a small kiss goodnight..

Kelan goes to see his brother Axel - Axel is the oldest of the 4, and since their father's are getting older, Axel has become the Alpha of the family. So when Kelan approaches him with a business deal, the Alpha isn't too happy with the chance of losing money. So he shoots Kelan's idea down - Kelan doesn't take it very well, so he stalks off, strips off his close and shifts to his Puma form - after some time of running off some steam, Kelan feels a sharp pain in his butt - a dart - and all of a sudden, he's unconscious.

When he wakes up, he smells her.. the soft female sent of Beth.. he starts Purring - when he realizes he's on the hard cold ground, in Puma form, he opens his eyes and lets out a ferocious yowl when he realizes he's in a cage...

Beth is a scientist - or at the very end stage of getting her degree in Animal Study, When Professor Whitmore had asked her to come and spend the summer out here with him to study the DNA of the Puma's, she jumped at the chance.

Things got a little sticky once she captured Kelan. Of course she didn't know who he was, but once she got a hold of his blood and started to run tests... she finds something is defiantly not animal in this puma -

This was a great storyline! I loved the closeness the family was, and they'd be willing to do anything to keep the family secret. No one trusted Beth, even Kelan didn't want to trust his own instincts on how well she fit with him and Reidar. but Reidar knew from the beginning.. And he had to prove it to Kelan that what they both were feeling was the real thing...

The romance happened quickly, but took their time with it :) This author is awesome! I'm defiantly going to be picking up more of her books, and continuing with this series :)

I am currently living in India, as I will be for the next little while. So while in India, I have decided because there is seriously nothing else to do, besides watch Indian soaps that I don’t understand, I will read. And reading I am. I started this book on the plane from Singapore to India, and god could I not put it down, I read it even though the guy next to me was snoring and kept whacking me in the arm, I read it through the scary turbulence, with the flight attendants coming to me every five minutes telling me to turn my e-reader off, I read it through the babies cries coming from the front. I read this book, until I got to customs, then my mum made me stop reading it, because they had to check that I wasn’t bringing any bad stuff into India. I read this book and it was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! So now that we know of my super uncomfortable trip and my super love of the book. Let’s get on to the actual review.

Falkes Captive in a sentence: Hot student working on animal genetics and saving the cat population in the world, meets two brothers, they are basically were-cats, and to mate they have to mate together (does that make sense? Basically, it’s two guys and a girl in bed), yeah well they all have sex and realize their love for each other, and they fight and in the end all three of them are happy together. That is the plot watered down, a really, really watered down plot.

Right. So onto what I thought of the book, as I said before it was unputdownable, amazing and I really liked it. I liked the idea of it. My favorite scene was when she thinks they betrayed her. I loved the dialogue, especially what they say to each other with their mind talking powers. I loved the flirting. The plot on a whole was really original, so was the concept, and I liked that. I probably should have read the first one first, but I don’t mind. The book was pretty cool without reading the first one, although there were a lot of hints about what happened in the last book although now I don’t know if I want to read it. Because could it really measure up to the greatness of this one?

The writing…I am a terrible judge of writing. I have three writing grades (if that makes any sense), they are: 1) God, this book was boring, there were typos and it was generally boring. 2) Meh. It was okay, could’ve been better, but it was fine. 3) HOLY-SHAZAMM!! This writing kept me interested, it was really good, and I plan on not putting this book down. Maybe even reading it again…. And again…. And again… Can you guess which one this landed under? If you guessed three then you were right!

The characters…completely loveable. Out of the brothers I’m still trying to figure out whom I love more. They were so perfect together. And the three of them together *BAM FIREWORKS!* NO OTHER WORDS. WHY AM I WRITING IN CAPITALS?? I’m going to stop now. Right. You have to read the book to get why I think so highly of the characters and why together *sigh* they are perfect.

Overall, this was a really good book and I plan on reading it again soon, cause given the circumstances I read it under I think that I might need to, in order to love it even more. I recommend this book to animal lovers, people who like a different sort of paranormal erotica, because this was really different. Good. Refreshing. And I guess people who like reading erotica novels should also check this out. I can’t really think of any other groups of people to read this. Generally if you think it looks interesting, you should check it out. Give it a go. You might me surprised.

“How adventurous are you, Beth?”

Beth’s years of research into the habits of big cats will be severely tested when the puma she has been tracking starts chasing her instead.

As a family of Puma shifters, the Falke brothers have to be careful with their family’s secret. If ever they were discovered by the wrong person their entire world could crumble. In the second book in the Puma Nights series, we are introduced to brothers Kelan and Reider Falke. As the younger of the set of four cubs that were born in a litter, Kelan and Reider are as close as their brothers’ Axel and Gunner that we met in Falke’s Peak. Now that Gunner and Axel have found their mate, Kelan and Reider are hoping to be blessed with someone with whom they can share the secret and have their own happily ever after.

Inexplicably Kelan and Reider are drawn to graduate student Beth Coldwell. Is she the one? Will she be able to handle the truth? Why does she keep trying to shoot one of the brothers? That last question actually provides some comic relief in this highly charged romantic adventure.

As I mentioned, this is the second book in this collaboration between authors Anna Leigh Keaton and Madison Layle. After having read and reviewed the first book, Falkes Peak, I couldn’t wait to see what was going on with Axel, Gunner and Dakota. I knew with two more sets of brothers and a sister there had to be more stories to tell. Kelan, Reider and Beth’s story did not disappoint.

The premise of a young scientist with something to prove and goal to achieve being the brother’s mate was truly clever. How could they possibly find their HEA when she was the very thing they feared...and yet desired? You won’t want to miss this story.

Kelan and Reider may have been litter mates with Axel and Gunner but it’s clear they are the younger of the set. They each have their own strengths and weaknesses. Kelan is most like Axel in that he tends to be the “dominant” hot-headed one. Reider is the one who talks him down and gets him to see reason. The writers built these characters well and made them easy to love. The same can be said for Beth. One of the aspects I liked about her best is that she’s reasonable. She doesn’t over (or under) react when the boys reveal their secret. She doesn’t faint or run screaming from the room but she doesn’t smile blandly and say “okay” either. The writers built her up to be a scientist so she takes it all in as a scientist…and then she determines to protect her mates.

Younger brothers, Tor and Sin, still have to find their mate. We also got to spend more time with the only Falke girl, Heidi. Personally, I can’t wait for her story. The boys have a lot to overcome in finding a mate but Heidi’s task is considerably harder. You’ll have to get into the Puma Nights series to understand what I mean. This is a terrific series from two very talented writers. There is lots of action both in and out of the bedroom to keep you turning pages to the perfect ending.

I don't know if this really deserves four stars, but it's getting them for two reasons. First of all, Falke's Captive makes sense and I'm still shaking my head over Chaos Tryst. Secondly, you rarely see this kind of plot in shifter romances. There was that brief scene at the end of Shelly Laurenston's Here Kitty, Kitty! and, the beginning of, oh, crap, what was it? Um, The Jaguar Prince, I think. I mean, there are many books where shifters are hunted by scientists and the like, but very few where they are shipped off to the zoo or 'tagged' (I'm excluding Jennifer Ashley's Pride Mates series as the purpose behind those collars don't fit this scenario). I like seeing what realistic situations modern-day shifters could find themselves in and being tranq'd & tagged by a wildlife researcher certainly fits the bill.

I admit to skimming through the sex scenes, not because they were bad, but because there were a lot of them and I was on lunch at work. Reading about anal sex is a little surreal when the co-worker sitting next to you is on the phone, arguing about a bill. It did feel like the sex scenes kinda outnumbered the plot scenes, but that's not exactly unexpected with this type of book. This is also the second book in the series and, despite not having read the first one, I was able to follow along quite nicely. I respect an author who can continue a series without info dumping or ignoring the first book entirely.

I'm starting to get the after-lunch sleepies so it's definitely time for my vitamins. To wrap up, I'd rec this for fans of Crystal Jordan. I'd have priced this at $3.99 instead of $4.99 (don't ask me why, it just doesn't feel like a $5 book and it's only 174 pages. Harlequin Presents are usually another 20+ pages for the same price), but if you can get a coupon somewhere, check it out.

Very good shifter romance. The set up was interesting. The Falke brothers own a wilderness outfitting and guide business. Each day one of the six brothers spends the day shifted into a cougar as the store mascot. The heroine, Beth, is a scientist in the area to study cougars for her PHD. She meets two of the brothers, Kelan and Reider one night in a bar. The next day she sees Kelan running as a cougar and tranqs him and discovers he has a collar. He manages to escape but not before she has taken a blood sample. The next day she tracks him to the family store and meets the rest of the family who are none to happy with her. So the set up is that she is researching cougars, has his odd blood and the three of them are falling in love.

The writing of this story was pretty solid. The plot had a beginning, middle and end. It all made sense and hung together. The story was well rounded and interesting and unlike many shorter menage/romantica stories, the ending was not abrupt. All the characters' actions made sense. The dialog was well done. The shifter world was fairly well set up but I could have used more back story. The love scenes were plentiful and well done. There was however enough story that it didn't seem as if this was just an excuse to write sex scenes. The menage part of the story seemed more natural and necessary than in most shifter menage stories. I was glad however that it was just 2 men per woman rather than all the brothers as I've seen many times. There was some humor and a reasonable amount of tension.

All in all, I really enjoyed the book.

Review: Five minutes after you finish Falke's Peak, you're probably going to be buying this (or checking reviews to see if it lives up to the first book). Go ahead and click BUY NOW, cause this book is just as good. If you haven't read Falke's Peak, check it out first. I read maybe ten pages of Falke's Captive before I got up and downloaded Falke's Peak to read that first. Once again, I love the scene when Beth first stumbles into the Falke brothers. This time it's a little more dramatic (and hilarious). There's a lot more action in this book as everyone fights to protect the family.

I think Axel and Gunnar are still my favorite brothers, but Kelan and Reidar are still loveable. You get the sense of these younger brothers trying to spread their wings and show their older brothers they have grown up and can stand on their own. Beth has to deal with everything she trusted in being yanked out from under her while being pursued by two men. This story has more of the family in it, which I loved. I'm really bummed because now I don't have another book to read in this series. I'm anxious to read the next!

So click download, snuggle up and enjoy!

Falke’s Captive by Madison Layle and Anna Leigh Keaton is a very sexy, shifter romance. Beth Coldwell meets up with the sexy duo, Kelan and Reidar at a local pub. She is a university student working on her doctorate studying big cats. She is in town to assist her sponsoring professor by scoping out the local large cat population and setting up a temporary lab for the study of these local animals.

While she is out on in the forest for her first scouting trip, she bags a beautiful puma. And then the trouble truly begins because she has unwittingly stumbled into a closely guarded secret and she is about to to be integral to the survival of that secret. The journey that Beth, Kelan and Reidar take is before the mating, during, and after the mating is fun, provocative, and exciting. The attraction is instant. The trouble is double and so is the loving. This a nice short story and if you like your shifter tale with a lot of spice, this story is for you.

Happy Reading from Bona Fide Reflections!

This novel is a second in a series. Unfortunately, I had not read the first. However that didn’t hinder my enjoyment of the book. I really liked this one. In fact, I plan to read the first in the series soon.

The book captures our attention with two of six brothers. Hot! I must say, I was intrigued with Kelan from the first time he crossed the page of the novel. He’s strong but has passion everything I could love in a fictional character.

There is a story why the brothers are the way they are. Some of it was explained but not overly so, as I would expect in a second in the series. I wasn’t lost, but wished I had a deeper perspective of the back story because I liked the characters so much.

The plot was not totally predictable which is always nice. I will be reading more from this author in the future.

I recommend for those paranormal romance fans who like extra "spice" in their story. This story has explicit scenes so beware.

The pumas are back with another set of the handsome brothers. This time a grad student writing her dissertation stumbles on the puma and gets a sample of blood. She also gets a huge dose of lust. When her colleagues have nefarious plans the story got wild 😜. I enjoyed it and it was full of hot intimate activities whoohoo!

Review posted: Happily Ever After - Reads

“…I wasn’t looking for my mate – our mate. And I damn sure never expected her to shoot me in the ass when I did find her.”

I love all types of sexy shifter stories, couple that with a story about 2 brothers who will mate with the same women, and hellllo sexy time. Beth is a scientist heading out on a summer research trip to study wild cougars. Little does she know she’s set up her research camp right in the middle of a town with a shifter family, who just happen to be cougars. She meets the Falke brothers, feels an attraction to both of them and naughty thoughts start running through her mind.

The Falke brothers, Kelan and Reider, know that they’ll end up mating the same woman. This is how it’s always been in their family. They’re the youngest 2 in a set of quadruplets, their 2 older brothers have already found their mate (Falke's Peak). They also have younger siblings, triplets – 2 more brothers and their baby sister. The fact that the males in the family have always been able to shift has been a closely guarded secret their entire lives. They know what would happen if word got out, they’d be locked up and tested and any chance at a normal life would be gone.

What I really liked in getting to know Kelan and Reidar was seeing how close they are as brothers (I guess they better be close if they’re mating the same woman for the rest of their lives!) and how different their personalities are – which becomes so apparent as they get to know Beth. Kelan, being the oldest between he and Reider, will act as a sort of alpha in their relationship. He takes the lead, but he’s a much more demanding guy than his brother, who’s the cuddler. Who wouldn’t want a sexy guy that loves to cuddle!

Reider she adored for his softer side. He liked to cuddle, hold hands. He had an inherent tenderness about him that made her want to snuggle.

(…)

Kelan…She could spend the next eighty years with him and probably never know what his next move would be. Sweet and gentle or unmovable like granite. His eyes went from tender and loving to brittle with demand in an instant.
Oh, did that ever turn her on.

There is a small suspense element to the story, Beth’s fellow scientists, one who’s the professor in charge and another man assisting along with Beth, are all at the research base. Once Beth finds out exactly what her men can do, she’s determined to keep their secret, but her fellow researchers think differently and put Beth’s life in danger. The suspense storyline was just ok for me. What I enjoyed most about the story was seeing the Falke family together, bantering and the scenes between Kelan, Reider and Beth.

This was an overall very fun, light read. It’s book 2 in this series, but absolutely reads as a stand-alone, in fact I want to go back and read Falke’s Peak now after getting a small glimpse at the family’s alpha and eldest sibling Axel – he’s growly and gruff and I like that, a lot! As I mentioned above, the danger Beth finds herself in, along with a Falke sibling played out fairly quickly at the end, but I really enjoyed getting to know the Falke’s and seeing the brothers and Beth get closer.

E no, non aveva connotazioni sessuali).

My Review:
This story absolutely has the best premise...who is more dangerous to a shifter than a scientist looking for answers about big cats without any idea that shifters exist? Beth is in Washington studying large cats trying to find clues in their DNA to keep some large cat species from going extinct. She's extremely excited when the first day out, she tranqs a cougar, but is surprised to find him with a collar. What she doesn't realize is that the cougar is Kelan, the very sexy guy who had been hitting on her the night before in the bar. She realizes that the cougar must be someone's pet, but that doesn't stop her from drawing blood, microchipping him, and adding an ear tag while he is sedated. When Kelan escapes and returns to human form, he is a whole lot less excited to discover those facts. Obviously, it would be a whole lot easier on all of their lives if they could stay away from Beth, but Kelan & quadruplet brother Reidar sense that she is their mate.

This is book #2 in this series. Book #1, Falke's Peak, featured the other 2 of the quadruplets, Axel & Gunnar, and their mate Dakota. I haven't read book #1, but it did not affect my enjoyment of this book at all, although you do get to see quite a bit of all the siblings in this book. Also, since Axel is the Alpha, he and Kelan go round over a lot of issues with the store and the way that things should be handled, but especially about Beth, who Axel doesn't trust.

Like I said, the premise of this book is just perfect. I love this huge Falke family which consists of a set of quadruplets and a set of triplets. They all work together to run an outfitter store. Long ago, they established that the family has a pet cougar so that if anyone in town sees them in animal form, there aren't any worries. There is always a cougar, who everyone knows is very tame, living at the store and with the family. Of course, Beth and the other scientists, don't know this until after they capture Kelan in cougar form.

There were some details about this story that I really liked. In this shifter world, the shifter mate in pairs...always. This makes for a great menage story line! I liked the dynamic between Kelan & Reidar, the brothers. Between the two, Kelan is the more alpha male, while Reidar is the more sensitive romantic one, but they definitely know how to work perfectly as one unit. The whole issue of Kelan having an ear tag was laugh out loud funny, as was when he is tranq'ed for a second time...Reidar's reaction to both events was so funny!!!

This book had a bit of everything. Two very sexy males, one very smart female, a creative story line, some laugh out loud moments, a great family dynamic, even a bit of suspense, and a climatic ending. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the Falke family and fully intend to go back and read book #1. I don't know how many more there will be in the series, although I am guessing at least one more.

FALKE’S CAPTIVE is the sexy sequel to FALKE’S PEAK in the series PUMA NIGHTS.

As a scientist who studies big cats, imagine Beth’s elation when she stumbles upon a cougar on her second day into the research expedition – which is what brings her to this wilderness town the Falke brothers call home. After tranquilizing the beautiful beast, she notices it is wearing a collar – very strange indeed! To Beth’s dismay, the cougar escapes before she can conduct any research - little does she know that this beautiful beast is none other than one of the handsome twins she met the previous night in a bar.

Needless to say, as the story progresses, Beth’s world of science is rocked as she learns of the existence of the cat-shifters and her life as she once knew it is forever changes – in more ways than one!

This second book of the series was entertaining, but the first book stole the show. My expectations were high for FALKE’S CAPTIVE, but the love interest, Beth worked my nerves a little and really was the main reason for my 3 star rating. If you are a fan of cat-shifters and ménage, then you need to get your hands on this one!

This continues the story of a family of shifters. The Falke siblings are a set of quadruplets Axel and Gunnar (who where in the first book Falke's Peak), Kelan and Reidar and then a set of triplets Sindre, Torsten, and sister Heidi.

This book is Kelan and Reider's story. Kelan is struggling with wanting to make some changes to the business dynamics the Falke's have which causes some strife between him and the Alpha brother Axel.

Kelan and Reidar are out drinking one night and see Beth Coldwell who is in town to track and tag big cats in the wild (something she doesnt tell them of course) She just mentions that she is graduate student in town doing some research studies. Both Kelan and Reidar are attracted to Beth and Reidar has the feeling she is there mate but Kelan isnt ready to start thinking about settling down with a mate like his older brothers have.

After an argument with Axel, Kelan decides to change into puma form and run to blow off some steam.. Well this gets him shot in the butt with a trank gun by Beth and he wakes up in a cage.. Some of the best comedic moments in this series come from the "thinking" of the Faulke that is in cat form. Kelan does manage to escape but not before Beth managed to get a blood sample which the family cant let be revealed.

There was some suspense over this especially from her boss who seemed to have more of a motive for wanting to find shifters.

With Beth's profession the romance was a little more strained and Kelan didnt really want to believe that she was there mate.

Overall a good 2nd book in the series. I am really curious about how the sisters romance is going to play out. I am sure the next book with be Sindre and Torsten but its going to be interesting to see who Heidi's mate or mates are..

Synopsis: "A graduate student working in animal genetics, Beth Coldwell is in town to track and tag big cats in the wild. Her prospects for the summer only improve when she meets Kelan and Reidar Falke and decides the sexy brothers are the right pair to fulfill her other, less than scientific, desires...
But her research is a threat to the Falke family secret. When Kelan, in cougar form, is captured, that secret comes closer than ever to being revealed. He escapes, but not before Beth draws a blood sample, and analysis shows this is no ordinary mountain lion.

Kelan and Reidar cannot deny the powerful attraction they feel toward Beth. She might just be their destined mate. But if they reveal themselves to her, will she embrace who they are or see them as just another science experiment?"

My Review: I enjoyed another adventure with the Falke family. Did I mention I am a sucker for big cat shape shifters?! It was very interesting to see how they handled a new threat, scientists. I liked Beth, though not as much as Dakota, and same with the boys, I prefer Gunner and Axel over Kelan & Reidar but they were fun to get to know. This storyline though seemed to have a lot more suspense, which I loved, you just didn't know what was going to happen. You wanted that happy but just don't know how they are going to get there.

First I haven't read the first one in this series, but discover after reading this one, that the order won't matter, the book is really good, I didn't like some parts, but that just me.

Beth arrives in little town to discover places for her field research and colect dados, but in the first night she discover two very sexy brothers and her fantasy about a treesome start to cloud her mind. But what she doesn't know is that the brothers are more that she could ever sign for.

I loved Kelan's intern fight, because for me he was the only real character, love didn't just appear in front of him, he needed to strugle and find what he felling against he's usual normal.

Reidar is the sweet, but he moved to fast for me, and the talking about mating and children was way to early for everyone involved.

I did liked the book, but things would be better accepted, a list by me, if it took at least one month to develop everything, from the first contact to them being together, but the book moved way to fast. The sex in the bathroom was really hot and the brothers are great in bed and talking about fellings and family, so I would recommend to anyone who likes a bit off BDSM, not much strong, but to be expected from a alpha male.

4 Solid Stars

I read paranormal romance on a regular basis and this book really impressed me. I loved how the author made the cougar shifters slightly different from shifters in other books, and it worked so well. I don't want to go into too much detail since it would somewhat spoil the story for those who haven't read it. Also, keep in mind that this is what I would consider an erotic romance since there is a menage relationship. I love reading erotica/menage and couldn't be happier to have that combined with the paranormal aspect.

I also didn't realize until after I read Falke's Captive that it was the 2nd book in the series. I haven't read the 1st book (yet), but I definitely wasn't hampered by not reading the first book prior to this one. It could easily be a stand alone.

The pace of the book was just right... just enough romance, action, twists, and turns. The plot was well thought out and wasn't too predictable. I really enjoyed Falke's Captive and will be keeping an eye on the author, Madison Layle, for future paranormal romance.

Pure erotica at its hottest. Other than the twins involved with our wildlife geneticist who are described as complements to each other the characters don't get much in the way of development. Although the female character, Beth enjoys junky food and greasy-spoon diners. It's somewhat hard to believe a scientist would be so readily accepting of what she learns.

Minimal plot but what is there is imaginative and original. Someone did some research. Lots of cougar-shifter mating detail.

But mostly really, really hot. In a menu of erotica this would get the five chili rating. Whatever the hottest pepper is this book is the analog in sexy sex writing. It is in the bedroom that the complementary psyches of the men come into play. If you like books you can't read at the gym because you think someone might sneak up and read over your shoulder, or wonder why you are blushing so much, then this is a good choice for you. I enjoyed it more than Falke's Peak by the same writers.

3.5 Stars

I actually listened to this on my friends Ipod as we worked out today, and then worked. This is the first book by this author and I found that it was a decent plot, and the character development was good. I know this is the second book in the series, and I will have to go back to the first book, so that I can have a more complete backstory on the Falke family and understand what is in their genetic line that has them shape-shifting into Cougars who have human DNA.

Overall, I enjoyed this story. I have read lots on vampires and werewolves, but not shape-shifters who turn into Cougars-Pumas, so this was unique for me. Lots of sexing between the characters, and of course the Cougars always have sex in pairs, so the heroine in this story...a Grad Student from Seattle is always in a threesome with her Falke duo. The Falke's are one set of Quad brothers, and one set of Twin brothers with the youngest of the pack being a sister named Heidi who happens to be Vet who can't shapeshift at all. This made things very interesting, and how and why she was in Levenworth, Washington seemed realistic enough and gave credibility to the overall plot.

Check out my other listens at Eargasms Audiobook Reviews

I listened to the audiobook on this one and enjoyed it but it felt long at times. It was a good book and had all the elements I usually adore. The pace just seemed off somehow.

I really liked Beth and all her sassy attitude, she is just my kind of gal! Kelan and Reidar are great guys and I did love the yummy Dom streak they carried! They really made my heart beat quicken!

There are plenty of smexy scenes in this short read, girl they are hot!! Who could resist a man, or a pair, who gets bossy in the bedroom!!

The narrator, Elizabeth Matthews, does a great job. She did terrific with all the voices and had just the right sensual touch in the steamy scenes.

I can not say why I did not connect with this series, it has all the things I usually get hooked on, but not in this one. I am still interested in checking out more of the series. Maybe it is time for a genre switch to keep hings fresh.

What do two shape-shifting, twin brothers do when the woman they want as their mate has the potential to destroy their entire family? Choosing between love and family is tough under normal circumstances; it is twice as hard when your family is bonded together through a centuries old secret.
So the worst part of this book for me was finding out it was the second in a series after I was almost done. But, not reading the first book did not take anything significant away from this second book. I would've enjoyed knowing Axel, Gunnar, and Dakota's story but it did not impact this story in any major way. I will go back and find the first book and read it before I move forward.
I liked that the family relationship was as important to the story as the romantic relationship. Despite the briefness of the story and the interaction between the siblings, it was obvious that these 7 brothers and sister adore and protect each other.
Good story, although brief.

At first glance I didn't care for this set of brothers as much as the ones in the first book. But what I did really love about this book was the situation that a couple of these brothers found themselves in, caught when they were changed as mountain lions. How degrading for them as they were shot with a tranq dart, blood was taken, checked for sex and to see if it was neutered, and of course tagged with an ear tag, then there was the final humiliation of waking up in a cage. But that was really nothing once their siblings found out and the teasing started in earnest.

The romance angle of the book was a little boring to me. Things were predictable. I did love how the boys ended up spilling their secret and how the three of them had to work together to keep those secrets.

I look forward to checking out more adventures of this family!

Come visit Forever Book Lover to see the full review. I put off reading Falke's Captive thinking it was a short story with no depth; I was pleasantly surprised by this book.

You quickly learn the Falke family is unique, not only are there eight in the family: a set of quadruplets, and a set of triplets but they are Shifters. Then add in the element they must mate in pairs, two brothers for one woman and you have a very HOT book!! WOW!!! There is more to this book then a ménage relationship......

When I requested this from NetGalley I didn't realize that it wasn't the first in the series. This didn't hamper my ability to understand what was going on. Perhaps it just made me a little more critical of Axel since I didn't get to know him in his own book first.

I really enjoyed the storyline. I like that the brothers are shifters, but the public doesn't know about them. Beth was great. I didn't think she was too easy, and she certainly wasn't a pushover when having to deal with two guys at once. There were certainly points when I wondered how things could work out between the 3 of them because of the guys' secret and Beth's job. I like that things weren't easily predictable.

Definitely will read more by these authors.

This was a short and cute read. Having read the first book in this series, Falke's Peak, I knew what to expect from the story line, although this pair of brothers are a bit more into BDSM than the older set.

While I usually have a problem with BDSM, it was light enough that I didn't mind it.

I prefer the first story to this one, but it's still good in its own right. And I'm looking forward for the next in the series.

I liked this book very much. I listened to the audiobook versions of both books in the series. I had a bit of trouble getting in to the first book but after listening to this one I think the issue may have been the narrator. With this book (with a new narrator) I was totally able to get in to the story and enjoyed it a lot. I liked Beth and thought she came through in the end proving herself a good mate for Kelan and Reidar. The story had a good plot, some hot sex scenes and some action at the end. Overall I'd give it 2 thumbs up.
