Interesting and sometimes morbid accounts of all the ways people have died in or around the Grand Canyon, with chapters dedicated to the different types. WARNING: Do Not Read this Book while Walking Toward the Edge...."Ayyy-Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!"
Interesting accounting of all types of death in the Grand Canyon both above and below the rim. A lot of research went into this book. I read the latest version, which was current from 1860 to April 2024. I believe this is the second edition. I am glad I read it, but it might not be for everyone. Mother Nature must be respected!!
Really interesting read, mostly about how stupid and naive people can be when it comes to hiking in the heat. The stories of drownings and flash floods were scary. This is an exhaustive, well-researched book, but if you're going to read it, get the 2024 version.
This book was so informative, sometimes shocking, and dare I say, quite entertaining. It has a lot of information about visiting the Grand Canyon. Research, plan and prepare. Don't disregard advice from the people who work there. One final warning, it is all about the various ways people have died in the Grand Canyon. I had to take a breather during the Murder Chapter.
Absorbing reading for anyone who has spent time on top or with in the canyon. There is much wisdom to be learned here as you read through the stories. I would be so interested to see an update from 2914-2025.
