The Jamison saga continues with this *sneak peek* short story…best enjoyed when read between There's Only Been You & Meant To Be! When God was handing out out pride, Danny Jamison must have gotten in line twice, because he's about to let the best thing that's ever happened to him slip away—Emily Harris. Emily is head-over-heels in love with Danny, but she's not sure she can take his jealous mood swings anymore. Something has to give or his Foolish Pride is going to be the end of them.
"A good romance novel is like a bubble bath: steamy, relaxing, and over way too soon." ~ Donna Marie Rogers
USA Today bestselling author Donna Marie Rogers inherited her love of romance from her mother. Romance novels, soap operas, Little House On the Prairie--her mother loved them all. And though it wasn't until years later Donna would come to understand her mother's fascination with Charles Ingalls, Donna's love of the romance genre is every bit as all-consuming.
A Chicago native, Donna now lives in beautiful Northeast Wisconsin with her husband and children. She's an avid gardener and home-canner, as well as an admitted reality TV junkie. Her passion to read is only exceeded by her passion to write, so when she's not doing the wife and mother thing, you can usually find her sitting at the computer, creating exciting, memorable characters, fresh new worlds, and always happily-ever-afters. Donna also writes erotic romance as Liza James.
I was disappointed in this short read. It had a lot of potential but just fizzled. There were too many characters and too much history, which might have worked for a longer read, but they just cluttered this one up. The issues with the exes could have made things interesting but it really wasn't developed enough to make it a real selling point in the story. In the end the plot fell flat and the characters came across as immature and unlikeable.
I guess I'll say it was okay. However I'm feeling more like what was the point. The guy was abusive (period). Do I need to say anymore? I don't understand how anyone can think abuse is romantic. How can the hero call you a WH?RE and it's okay? Not for me and I'm not sure I can forget it and be like oh, he's so romantic. Not gonna happen. So because of that, I've changed my mind to I didn't like it.
Except for the fact that Danny needs some serious therapy before he enters a relationship, this is an okay story. In fact, Emily should consider therapy, as well. Verbal abuse is never okay and being provoked does not excuse accusations of cheating with no basis and calling your girlfriend a whore. Sorry. That's not love.
Despite his Foolish Pride, Danny Jamison and his Emily get back together after being manipulated by one of her girlfriends and her ex. Danny and Emily made a lifetime committment when they were confronted in public by her ex girlfriend and her cousin (his ex) and a bubble bath is always a good way to cool off and relax to think straight.
This short story takes place at the same time that There's Only Been You, a full length story which is the first in the series. I read Foolish Pride second and would highly recommend others to do the same, although both can stand on their own.
I was a bit disappointed in this short story. I was hoping for more of a tie in with TOBY. Make a broader picture of what was going on through out the family. There was some but felt there could have been more all around. I think the big thing is there should be a bit more characterization all around.
I'm looking forward to the next story and see what happens...
This was a pretty fair short story and I was glad to learn more about the Jamison clan.
BLURB: When God was handing out out pride, Danny Jamison must have gotten in line twice, because he's about to let the best thing that's ever happened to him slip away--Emily Harris.
This is the story of Danny and Emily. She is tired of putting up with him and kicks him out of her apartment and this story is about their road to an HEA.
It's a short read but there are a lot of true life relationships like this. It's sad how people try to break you up just to get even. Emily hung in there and it turn out good for her. Danny has a lot to learn but learn I feel he did. I was glad to see things work out so many times they do not. It is a short read for the rest of the series.
This was a cute short story, but something was missing to make it great to me. I feel like I need to read it again to figure out exactly what that is but I think I'm just moving onto the next book. This series is good. I hope the next one gives me what I missed in this one, then maybe I can come back and pinpoint what it is that I wanted that this one didn't quite give.
I was really happy when Emily dropped her lying-ass crook of a friend Gina and when Danny was there just in time to justify that he didn't know that Sharla was Gina's cousin. I was also happy when this story was free because it was on the author's website :D

This was such a good fast read. Quick and to the point. Of course you already had background of Danny from reading first two books of The Jamisons. Now all we need is Nicky and story complete. Of course Jack Sutton story needs to continue.
This very short novella which really is set before the end of Book 1 in this series was a major disappointment. There was no real substance to it. A story that hi ges totally on jealousy and an out of control temper does not hold my interest.
Danny never really featured in the main books. This novella was to give the reader some behind the scenes to his relationship with his girlfriend. Quick read.
I definitely was left wanting a novel, not a novella for Danny. It was good to have the back story on Emily and Danny for Book 1, and Book 3 of the Jamison series!
