Wonderful Silver Age B&W art collected in this volume. Vampirella is always a great entertaining read and treat for the eyes. Recommended

Sexy horror from the 70's, featuring some legendary comic artists and writers. Good stuff!

3.5 stars. The stories in this volume would be 3 stars, but the sexy art would be 4, hence the 3.5. Overall you have some really good art featuring the sexy Vampirella as well as the first appearances of Pantha, and also Fleur. However, you also have some silly and predictable stories mixed in as well. The volume runs hot and cold, as the stories seem to either be really good or really bad. That tends to be the story with the classic Vampirella magazine anyway, as a lot of camp is mixed in with the horror, but at times I think it's not intentional.

If you enjoyed the other Vampirella Archives then you'll enjoy this one as well. There's a LOT of reading here as the Archives are pretty thick volumes. If you like sexy black and white art, don't miss this one.

Liked this, but didn't love it. The high point are the color Richard Corben and Jeff Jones stories. Many of the other stories can be a bit dull. Almost all are beautifully illustrated and if you enjoy that stylized thin-line look from the 70's then this book is a must. That is, if you can get past some of the storytelling. Several stories are excellent, while the majority are just "OK".

The addition of garishly bright colors did not help most of these stories. There were a few exceptions, some early Corben stories for example.
