Faking It

Some women fake orgasms. Some men fake whole relationships.In death, Andrea Fox succeeded in uniting her misfit ex-husband, Barry and her younger lover, Oliver in the painful pursuit of personal rehabilitation. As an osteopath, Oliver had the touch but he needed his Tuesday night men’s group to help exorcise his demons. As for Barry, a regular newspaper column kept him in cigarettes and booze, but not in good spirits. For both men, relationships with women were a problem, but perhaps being themselves was even harder. This critical, comic and compassionate look at gender anxiety offers hope that all is not lost for those who are prepared to change.

Nigel George Planer (born 22 February 1953 in Westminster, London) is an English actor, comedian, novelist and playwright. Planer is perhaps best known for his role as Neil Pye in the cult BBC comedy The Young Ones. He has appeared in many West End musicals, including Evita, Chicago, We Will Rock You, Wicked and Hairspray. He is long time comedy partners with Peter Richardson. He also narrates the children's TV show, Grizzly Tales for Gruesome Kids.

Het boek was prima om te lezen en ook leuk om te zien hoe de 2 partners van de overleden vrouw ‘samen’ verdergaan, maar het is zo’n open einde. Niks lijkt verbonden met elkaar en er worden allerlei mensen geïntroduceerd die aan het einde geen duidelijke bijdrage aan het verhaal hebben gegeven.
