This book really surprised me. I was given a newer "Learn this right theology in poorly written story form" book by a counselor for my son and while beautiful, neither of us liked it much. I had picked this book up for free somewhere and remembered it during that time. I expected a cheesy and didactic story but we were both carried away and invited to sit with the characters as they wrestled with hard things. There was no, "stop thinking about ___ this way, read this verse, and decide to think about it this way and you'll be fixed." lazy bandaid answers. It was a journey, and few things were completely resolved but you were reminded of the most important things, and at the end brought to the most important place.

It was satisfying in the best way.
