This high school principal didn’t know what she was missing until her sizzling former student returns. Now he is ready to fulfill her every desire. Can she break from societies expectations and finally be truly happy?

Mia Bradford has worked hard to make it as the principle of a prestigious private school. Being a female is hard enough in an uptight society of privilege, but being a black woman makes it even harder. With all this hard work and perseverance, she has sacrificed a lot in her life. She knows something is missing, but is too afraid to ask for what she needs. The demand and pressure of her job constantly takes its toll on her and all she wants is to find sweet release and freedom in her sex life. The problem is she can’t find fulfillment. One failed marriage later, Mia is ready to just settle for a quiet existence. Too bad, Brett Wyndam is done waiting and is returning to town to conquer what he left behind.

Brett is smart, wealthy and a Dom. He always knew what he wanted and during his senior year of high school he wanted Vice Principle, Ms. Bradford. Though she tortured him, by hiding her luscious body behind matronly outfits and made him be her slave laborer during detention, he always knew he wanted to own her, claim her and possess her. He has waited long enough. It’s been eight long years and with a little planning he plans have her, all of her.

Detention is a very light BDSM story, so don’t let the thought of a D/s relationship scare you off from reading it. It is more about the release of inhabitations and the blossoming of passion. It shows that being true to yourself and allowing someone to love you can be the greatest gift of all. That age is just a number and the color of our skin should never stop you from following your heart. True love comes from the inside and the outside packaging is just an added bonus.

Detention also has a wonderful back story. It wasn’t just about two people finding happiness, but also the plight of Ghana. I was shown a sad reality of the poverty and heartache of the country, but I also felt the hope of hard working loving people. It was touching to read about selfless people giving their lives and livelihood to the less fortunate. Ms. Williams did a fabulous job introducing me to Ghana and didn’t let the sadness overshadow the joy. Her rendering of Ghana was informative without being preachy. Thank you for making Detention feel deeper than just the normal romance novel.

Detention is a steamy read that is enlightening yet sexy. It is a sizzling book and an enjoyable story. If you like a tender May-December story, you’ll enjoy Detention. If you like interracial romance, you’ll like Detention. But most of all, if you want an amazing story of two people finding love no matter what people think and discover that together they are unstoppable, then it's another reason to pick up this book. You won’t be disappointed!

If you’ve read my reviews, you’ll probably know that I am not a big fan of BDSM, especially of the interracial variety. I get caught up in word choices and interpersonal dynamics and end up breaking out in my own rendition of “We Shall Overcome.” Oh, and did I mention, I just don’t get the whole Cougar phenom?

That being said, Stephanie Williams has managed to create a marriage of these three genres without offending my delicate sensibilities. In fact, this story had me looking online to see if I was too late to sign up to teach a spring class or two. (Community College…I haven’t grown that much.)

This story is three degrees past hot. Brett has taken the time since high school to not only work on his academic education, but also his sexual one. When he finds himself with a bit of time on his hands, he knows it’s time to claim the woman he has always recognized as his perfect submissive. Mia’s first mind is to run for the hills. But, something about Brett has her risking all to finally be with a man who can “handle” her.

Now the road to their happy-ever-after isn’t without a few speed bumps. But, they get there. If you are like me and thought an interracial, Cougar erotic romance with a touch of kink couldn’t possibly keep your attention, I beg you to rethink that position and click on the product link above. This read is worth every cent you’ll spend…trust me. ;-)

Have you ever had a crush on any of your teachers or had a student crush on you? If given the oppourtunity would you pursue a relationship with said teacher or student?

In Detension, high school senior Brett Wyndam had a massive crush on his Vice-Prinicpal Mia Bradford and would do anything possible to spend time in detention just to spend time with. Seven years later Brett is back home with the express purpose of pursuing his old high school vice-principal. Now Principal Mia Bradford, has moved on with her life since she watched Brett Wyndam graduate from high school, is divorced, lonley and spends most of her free time with her man-hating best friend. Now that Brett is back in time and pursuing her should she accept what he is offering?

Now, here is the twist. Not only is her old student back to pursue a relationship he wants to be her Dom!! Not to give the story away further, I wasnt sure that I like the BDSM angle. I would have liked it better if I felt like Brett was an experienced Dom but I felt like he was immature in the lifestyle and was inconsistent in his methods. But, considering Mia had not clue about the lifestyle it worked for them. The other issue that I had was the "guilt factor" throughout the story it was clear that Mia felt guilty about being with a younger man, and a man who attended her high school as a student while she was an administrator. It was also clear that she had some pretty unclean thoughts about him while he was a student. Once she accepted the story moved along fairly well. The ending left some holes, but overall it was a decent story and I didnt feel like I wasted my time.
