Its about the analysis of the phylosocphical stature and contribution of the mystics and localised revolutionarires, and saints with their expression being in vernacular, to the Indian phylosophy. In particular Nagraj takes the casse of one such mystic called Allama Prabhu of 12th entury in karnataka, and his poems in kannada.

This is one of the books inspired me to read on Buddhist Philosophy. Though some flaws in presentation, beautifully articulated book to understand Allama Prabhu in the backdrop of Vedic and Non-Vedic philosophical systems

The book is very densly packed precise work of a scholar. I though see many flaws in the arguement , I certainly appreciate some terrific phylosophical insights, of the highest order , which one can find any where, I mean any whwere.Whether vedas , bible or what ever. But at the end I am left with more appreciation for the author's insights than the intention and the work itself.

Ofcourse the usually soft person , U.R.Ananthamurthy has blurbed that this book is a great work, at the world level. Its not fully false .
