I bought this book because the author was a high school teacher for some of my children. Having finished the book I am amazed by what a pleasurable read it is! This is extremely well-researched and very well-written, I learned an incredible amount and I thoroughly enjoyed it all. I really don't know how the author so effectively told this story in such an entertaining way. I can't recommend it enough to jazz fans and fans of the Magic City.
