A new translation of a 120-year-old book. Finally, you will know what it REALLY says! Be ready to change your impression of Charles Godfrey Leland's important work. Did Leland create a complete fiction? Was he duped by a wily Tuscan witch into believing he'd been given accurate information? Was his honest work changed, or delayed, by a publisher who feared the material? After you've read what the Italian verses actually say, you will have the answers to these and other questions that may have been forming in your mind.
I didn't begin publishing my work until I was fully retired - and 70 years old! Does that make me a "grandma moses" type? Maybe.
But I don't do cutsey.
I write spiritual poetry for the most part, and always with an eye to the Goddess, with a pagan viewpoint. I've also translated Leland's Aradia, and worked on other projects that you will find listed - eventually - on my profile.
I self-publish, in order to maintain 100% control over my material. So far, I've published 5 books, and one that is in revision. There are two more ready for the oven, and I'll be adding them as soon as my collaborators are finished with their portion of the work.
I grew increasingly tired of looking up each and every incantation every time I picked up Leland's book, and created my own translation of the entire work, for my own use. When Mario Pazzaglini published his new translation of the work, I saw that his was incomplete, so it was time to publish my own. This is a culmination of seven years' work, ably assisted by some wonderfully knowledgeable companions.
