I was the enforcer for the Golden Skulls until the souls I took came back for me. Now, I’m nothing but the tormented brother to the interim President. Once a valued member of the club, now I’m useless. With no direction, I do the only thing I can. I leave.
Haunted by the faces of the dead, I sink deeper and deeper into the void until I don’t know which way to turn. That’s when I hear the voice of an angel. Her voice calms the raging storm in my head, allowing me the respite I desperately need. With her in my ear, I can finally function once more.
Once lost without direction, I ‘m drawn to her voice like a moth to a flame. She calls out to me, begging me to find her, only to arrive at the one place I promised never to return, where I find myself staring into the same eyes of the only innocent man I ever killed.
JOAN:
Running from my past, I stay hidden, offering help and comfort to others the only way I know how. Hidden behind my microphone, I spend my nights talking and guiding other lost souls. It’s not much, but it’s all I can do until one night I see something I shouldn’t, and my life takes a drastic turn.
I wake months later with no recollection of who attacked me, or why I am in a clubhouse surrounded by several fierce-looking men. My only memory is a man with gray eyes. When I see that very man sitting beside me, I don’t know what to make of him. There is something about the man with the gray eyes that intrigues me. He is like me, a tortured, lost soul.
As the night of my attack slowly emerges, I realize that those who ignore the past are destined to repeat it.
PERSONAL NOTE FROM The Golden Skulls Motorcycle Club is a series of books with many triggers. I cannot stress this enough. If you suffer from any trigger, please take caution when reading my books.
SUGGESTED READING The Golden Skulls is a continuing series. I highly recommend reading the books in the following (Golden Skulls M.C.)GHOST (Golden Skulls M.C.)BULLSEYE (Golden Skulls M.C.)GIOVANNI (The Valentinetti Crime Family)PLAYER (Golden Skulls M.C.)LORENZO (The Valentinetti Crime Family)SAVAGE (Golden Skulls M.C.)ANTONIO (The Valentinetti Crime Family)THE GOLDEN WEDDING (Golden Skills M.C.)PHANTOM (Golden Skulls M.C.)DYLAN (Golden Skulls M.C.)INK (Golden Skulls M.C.)VICIOUS (Golden Skulls M.C.)KANSAS (Book 1 of the Diamondback M.C.)SHADOW (Golden Skulls M.C.)SINNER’S REDEMPTION (Book 1 of the Soulless Sinner M.C.)
Another Golden Skull jumps ship and joins another MC. Shadow joins the Diamond backs which is kind of crazy considering what happened to Jinx. Like to know more about the secret and who is after Shadow. Is it Monk? And what happened with him since he's a cop.
Shadow suffers from ptsd. The only time his voices quiet is when he is with a talk show host called Joan trinity. Their relationship develops slowly. Lots of funny moments and heartbreaking ones. Danger and secrets come to life. The sexy times are smoking 🥵
A lot of loose ends tied up here. Shadow went nomad after all the voices in his head and PTSD, he lands with his sisters, the older 3 anyway ( 2 that were abused by their brother). He finds himself getting pulled in to the Diamondbacks MC more and more after he saved Kali, finds Kali buys her soap and candles from his sisters ( yep the girls with stall) Kansas convinces him to pick up the investigation in to dodgy club brothers and the massacre of 5 yrs ago. Basically anything Jinx was working on….. including the woman who he thought Jinx was attacking. Joan remembers those eyes and has thought about her hero a lot so it’s inevitable that the attraction grows. Meanwhile the truth of who betrayed the club is revealed, who really killed everyone and why ….. it’s a shocker Just when all seems tidy and shadow is happy with his ol lady and family there’s the issue of his sister problem and a mystery message popping up as he logs out of the lap top!!!!!!
Shadow is Part 2 in the three way cross over of the Diamondback Mc, Golden Skulls Mc, and The Soulless Sinners Mc.
This book starts with the situation that brings Shadow to Lawton. This does two things - firstly, that you can read this book without having read Kansas first. Second, we get to view the scenes from Kansas from Shadow’s perspective. Rebecca Joyce writes this with great finesse - it’s not a regurgitation of existing information, but full of new insights.
I particularly like how Rebecca Joyce handles the difficult topics in this trilogy cross over - PTSD from horrific acts, whether as the perpetrator or victim, mental health issues, homosexuality and homophobia. It’s all realistic, but also sensitive, while exploring the issues of unconscious bias and acceptance of peoples differences.
As can be expected with Rebecca Joyce, there is some gorgeous spice mixed with sweet emotional connection, over protective men and enough twists to keep you on the edge of your seat.
Shadow, the Golden Skulls enforcer and executioner is haunted by all the souls of the lives he has taken so he leaves the club behind and finds himself taking sanctuary with his 3 sisters in Diamondback MC territory. We know how he gets involved with the Diamondbacks in the previous crossover book Kansas.
Shadow still tormented by his dreams, meets Joan, also damaged by her past and discovers that she soothes his soul. Another brilliant story, fast paced, full of intrigue, danger, deception, twists and turns. Shadows family love him but keep him on his toes with their escapades.
I am a huge fan of the Golden Skulls series and this new chapter and crossover books with the other MC’s are just as captivating with revelations a plenty. Soulless Sinners is up next and I can’t wait to dive in.
Shadow finds himself back with the Diamondback MC brothers, much to his chagrin and theirs. There’s still an uneasy tension between the brothers and Shadow after he killed one of their own, but when he’s asked to do a deep-dive investigation into the brothers, there’s a slight possibility he could redeem himself.
My favourite bit about Shadow was undoubtedly his crazy sisters. Written with great affection and hilarity.
I wasn’t sold on the plot-twist, it felt a little contrived, if I’m honest. And I think more could have been invested in a less cliched reasoning for that particular brother’s betrayal (no spoilers).
I’m super excited for the next book in this three-book crossover though, and that’s where I’m headed next!
WOW, what an awesome read. I was thoroughly entertained throughout this whole book. So much drama and chaos. I absolutely loved Shadow and Joan’s story, she was his redemption, he could finally let go of the voices and faces that haunted him daily. Shadows sisters are a wonderful part of the book, he is surrounded by women who could possibly drive him crazy lol 😂 there is so much going on but finally there is answers to some of the darkness that follows them. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ there won’t be any disappointments when reading this novel 😎
I just loved this story, Shadow seriously has some mad issues, voices in his head of dead men past but one always is there in his head, the innocent one. The man he killed by mistake. But its the voice on the radio that silences those voices, and it turns out he has a job to do to find her murderous father. However they form a bond together, and Shadow is also asked another task one which could get him killed!!
This is one story you dont want to miss out on , Rebecca Joyce has some mad skills and this series really is a must read in my opinion
This is the 11th book in this phenomenal series and this is Joan and Shadow's story. This is a well written action packed story, with family, friendships, emotions, intrigue, secrets, betrayal, loss, determination, danger, suspense, trust, humour, witty banter, loyalty, heartbreak, loss, challenges, violence, redemption, I undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, tragic, twisted, and unpredictable page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
Joan and Shadow two beaten, broken and haunted souls find each other but can they help the other heal. That is the question of the moment because you never know what route Rebecca will take the characters. One book you may despise a character and the next book they redeem themselves and you love them. Which is what happened for me with Shadow. Welcome to another ride on the roller coaster of emotions.
Shadows book takes us back a bit in time from Kansas' book to learn why he ends up in where he does. Shadow is being haunted by the ghosts of his past, one major one we learn about in Kansas. He ends up leaving the Golden Skulls to try to clear his mind and escape the ghosts. He ends up going to see his sisters and help them out for a bit. I really enjoyed the banter and relationships he has with his sisters. Then he discovers this mystery woman on the radio his sisters love to listen too. Turns out he's met her previously. Jane has a radio show that covers a bit of everything. She had an awful childhood and has been running from her past for years. I really enjoyed this story. There is so much healing in this one. And we get some answers and also end up with some more questions. I can't wait to see what's coming next!
Shadow left the Golden Skulls and hit the road. Now he is helping Kansas Diamondback MC and falling in love with his angel. But digging into the MC only brings more trouble for Kanas MC and Shadow. This series is amazingly hard to put down once you start reading. I read a lot of series and love them all but this is a mystery that with each book you get another piece of the puzzle and questions
I loved how Shadow had such a tragic past but with the help of Kali, his sisters, and his love, Joan he was able to overcome and process his past. I enjoyed how the author made all the sisters, nieces, other old ladies, etc such vocal, inspiring and has a wacky flair for dramatics. Once I started the book, I couldn't put the book down once I started it.
It sucks that the skulls lost yet another member. It's really starting to piss me off! I know by reading the blurbs of the books in this series/world that Reaper and Remi will be back. Will there ANYONE left when they return? XD Next up is Montana, and thus far I do NOT like him. Lets hope this book redeems him like Dylan's book did for Bullseye.
Shadow fulfilled all my dreams of him finding his true love, the one that would actually help him deal with all his pain. Rebecca has definitely outdone herself on Shadow's book. I was crying one minute and loving it the next. I read this book in one night, It was impossible to put down.
Omg what can I say? Shadow has been through so much, this book really did him justice! I couldn’t put it down! Ahhh! I can’t wait for the next book! If I could give this series 10 stars I would! It’s so freaking good! If you haven’t started the series you definitely are missing out!
ANOTHER fantastic book by Joyce. The plot is complex and intermingles family and brothers from the Golden Skulls, Soulless Sinners and the Diamondbacks. A very good story with lots of sibling banter, handsome bikers and Shadow claiming his woman.
I thought after reading Kansas the 1st book of the Diamondback mc that I knew who was the bad guy. Nope, I was totally wrong. This book is a page turner. A must-read if you can handle the triggers.
I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about Shadow after reading Kanas's book and finding out who the Diamondback brother was that he killed, but I did learn to love him.
That is one of the things I hate about Rebecca. She can change ur feelings about a character with one sentence!
I went into this debating what my feelings were towards these characters and learned to love him.
More secrets and lies are revealed, and i gotta tell ya, my head is spinning.
These interconnected series need to be made into a netflix documentary cuz honestly? U gotta see it to believe it!
Whatever goes on in Rebecca's head is pure genius 👏 and I'm just glad she uses it to create these books for us because I always have something to look forward to.
If you've read her other books, ur obviously going to pick read this one too, but if you haven't? Don't walk, run! And start with Reaper (Golden Skulls), but Bullseye is mine!!! I'm just saying, lol 😆
Book 2 of cross over books Really enjoying there cross over books. Shadows book was a great read love his interaction with his sisters , didn’t see the switch coming but it totally made sense And love how he has redeemed him self in the end and finds his place and his peace. This author never fails to deliver great reads
Shadow was the interrogator for the Golden Skull MC, but his deeds are catching up with him and taking a toll. He spirals, leaving his club and becoming a nomad, he checks in with his sisters is Texas, where he finds himself confronting a recent past that haunts him the most but also finds the one woman who he can't stop thinking of since he saved her. Joan had survived her past, and was now focused on protecting her siblings from their father, and in part of her own healing she helps others via hosting a show on Truth refugee radio. After getting attacked, she wakes up months later with little memory of the event but when she sees familiar eyes she knows one thing, they maybe be haunted but Shadow will protect her at any cost. This story is a rollor coaster ride of emotions, the highs and lows will have you laughing and crying, the story has depth and treats the dark nature of the with respect throughout. Well written with drama, action violence, steamy scenes, and dark themes.
Absolutely fantastic !!!!! Each book just keeps getting better and better. I thought after reading Kansas I had everybody all figured out but I was soooo wrong. I was completely engrossed in this story. Some questions that I had after reading Kansas were answered and some things left me a bit confused. Rebecca has taken us on this crazy journey with all of these clubs somehow interconnected. She has a true gift for storytelling. Can’t wait to read what happens next.
"Shadow" takes us on another rollercoaster of emotions! Filled with action that expertly ties up loose ends while introducing new layers to the saga of its flawed yet compelling characters.
The story follows Shadow, a rugged enforcer and Executioner grappling with PTSD, a drinking problem, and unrest as he finds himself unexpectedly drawn into the chaotic world of the Diamondbacks Motorcycle Club in Lawton, OK, after a tumultuous stint as a nomad.
The tension is palpable from the start, especially with Shadow's rocky history with the Diamondbacks, particularly after a murder of a Diamondback brother committed at his hands.
Joyce as always masterfully weaves deception and treachery into the plot, keeping readers guessing until the very end.
The arrival of Joan, our fierce female lead, adds a powerful dynamic to the story. Joan is a true survivor—her resilience and fighting spirit make her an incredibly relatable and inspiring character.
One of the standout aspects of this book for me is the vibrant portrayal of Shadow's sisters and their colorful personalities. They bring a delightful sense of camaraderie and sisterhood that enhances the narrative, providing more than a few moments of absolute humor as well as character depth. The banter and drama among the sisters, nieces, and the club’s old ladies add a fantastic flair that kept me thoroughly entertained.
I particularly enjoyed the grumpy older brother subplot, which just gives that layer of family dynamics and protective instincts, also hinting at maybe future stories.
As I turned the pages, I found myself constantly speculating about the mysterious VP Pence and "Monk", both of whom seem to hold secrets that could shake the foundation of the Diamondbacks more than it already has......
This book was a fast-paced, emotional-driven masterpiece in storytelling that combines romance, intrigue, and character development seamlessly.
It’s a must-read for fans of MC romances and anyone looking for a captivating tale of redemption and resilience. I can’t wait to see what Rebecca Joyce throws at us next in this thrilling never predictable universe!
Oh wow, what a follow up to Kansas. This story is a rollercoaster ride of emotions, the highs and lows will have you laughing and crying, the story is intense and treats the dark nature of the subject matter with respect. It is well written and is full of drama, action, violence, hot scenes, and dark themes. Shadow, who is the Golden Skulls enforcer and executioner is haunted by all the lives he has taken so he leaves the club behind and finds sanctuary with his sisters in Diamondback MC territory. Shadow has been through so much, this book really told his story well and I couldn’t put it down! I can’t wait for the next book!
