I've always been a writer. Ever since I could remember my biggest desire was to put words to paper. Finally my dreams of publication came true in 2002 with the release of Chase The Wind, the first book in my historical family saga. But I've also looked to the stars since I was a small girl. Which led to my writing of Futuristic Action Romance under the pen name Colby Hodge. And since I've got a knack for relating to teens, I also enjoy writing for them under the name Kassy Tayler.

And just so you know a bit about me. I've been married for several years to the man of my dreams. We've also raised two exceptional sons and enjoy life in the shadow of Pilot Mountain in NC where we share our home with a long haired dauschund and a cat who thinks she's the queen of the world.

The only reason I'm giving this book 4 stars instead of 5 stars is because it was so short so no time for a real story to develop. But I thought what there was was very good and makes me want to read more from this author. It's set in medieval times and has a very mystify vibe to it. The hero is a warrior and he's tired. All his friends and family have been lost over the years and he's contemplating life as he's walking along the coast to the nearest village. He spies someone in the ocean and it turns out she's Face and has been held prisoner by a monster when she manages to escape. But the monster is coming to recapture her.

This is all I plan to say about the short story. I was pretty impressed with what I read even though it only took a few hours to read. But as I said, I now plan on checking out her backlist.

Clever, clever twist at the end that made me gasp until turning the page and reading the very end. Gotta love a book that causes you to scream. Looking forward to reading more by this author...and so happy to read a book that really hits the spot after that last one I struggled to even get through 10% of!
