I'm a writer, an artist (of sorts), I love reading, drawing, writing, listening to music, my husband and family (not necessarily in that order). I also work for MythCast (unpaid) and a property services company. In my spare time, I...yeah, about that...well, I sometimes watch TV, mainly fun things like Supernatural, NCIS, Dexter, Firefly etc.
My first Fantasy Novel (Cold Day in Hell)was published on e-book and trade paperback, as was my second book (Wolf) an Urban Fantasy. My third book, Starstone, has just been released and all available to buy! I'm working on the sequel to Starstone and the follow-up to Cold Day (Hell is Where the Heart is) has been finished and is released 15th April! I'm also trying my hand an 'erotic romance'(I can hear you thinking!), I've always wanted to write, and to have books published is truly amazing, and I really hope people enjoy reading them!

You know that feeling you get when you pick up a book and it feels like it's glued to your hands? No matter what you do, you find it difficult to put the damned thing down? Well......I dare you to pick up Starstone by Denise M. Main and try to do anything else that involves the use of both hands. The book is quite simply captivating...engrossing....well-written and thoroughly enjoyable. Was I sorry when I got to the end? Damn right I was. Am I looking forward to the SECOND book in the Structure Chronicles? Silly question.....
Buy it....borrow it....steal it....read it over your best friend's shoulder if you have to. Well done Denise. Your ability to use just 26 letters and turn them into a captivating story never ceases to amaze me!

Starstone by Denise M. Main is the first book in ‘The Structure Chronicles.’ It initially tells the story of what happened between the peoples of the early universe; how a great conflict had been finally settled by banishing the wrongdoers to an uninhabited world, and then slipping that world to another dimension away from all reality. This other dimension could only be accessed again with the Starstone, an object that was split into seven shards and scattered in separate places around the Structure/universe for everyone’s safety.

This is all well and good; except that after hundreds of years since its creation, the danger the starstone could bring has almost been forgotten, and the potential magical powers that the shards could hold encourages their gathering. Through it all, hanging as a dark threat just over the horizon, the banished world Danaach and its inhabitants await the congregation of starstone components that hold the key to their release.

Since I wrote this book I'm a little biased, and this isn't actually a review. Starstone is quite a long book with enough detail (I hope) to build a world 'visible' to everyone. Not only about the evil of the prison world and those who would call it back and try to use it, Starstone also has the High Lord's discovery of his Land power. Plus the seer, Liath's, discovery of Morgan. There are bards, healers, wraiths, shape-shifter, warriors...even a Goddess! There is magic, love, hate, good, evil and bits in between, even a little romance!

I read it with some trepidation, ready to squirm. But I was pulled in and really enjoyed it!

I hope you do, too.

This is a very good book and has the potential to go onto being a great series. I have to admit that the beginning was hard (for me) to start following. Think Melissa Marr’s books’ beginnings for me I think am I ever going to understand her books’ for the first few chapters and then everything just falls into place out of nowhere. And George R.R. Martin Game of Throne Series with all those names to try and sort out and remember. But then it just all falls into place and now I want to know what happens next, another series I am waiting on the next book for :)
