David Baldacci has been writing since childhood, when his mother gave him a lined notebook in which to write down his stories. (Much later, when David thanked her for being the spark that ignited his writing career, she revealed that she’d given him the notebook to keep him quiet, "because every mom needs a break now and then.”)
David published his first novel, Absolute Power, in 1996; the feature film adaptation followed, with Clint Eastwood as its director and star. In total, David has published 52 novels for adults; all have been national and international bestsellers, and several have been adapted for film and television. David has also published seven novels for younger readers. His books are published in over 45 languages and in more than 80 countries, with over 200 million copies sold worldwide.
In addition to being a prolific writer, David is a devoted philanthropist, and his greatest efforts are dedicated to his family’s Wish You Well Foundation®. Established by David and his wife, Michelle, the Wish You Well Foundation supports family and adult literacy programs in the United States.
A lifelong Virginian, David is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Virginia School of Law.
The Camel Club series was phenomenal!!!! When I get done with the first book in the series I had to run back to get the next book, and the next, ..... It's main character Oliver Stone ( a pseudo name; his real name is******Read the series) is a Vietnam Vet and has hit rock-bottom emotionally, because the two people he loved most in the world were murdered, his wife and daughter. It all began because of the skills and talents he developed while in Vietnam. These new skill sets made him an exceptional soldier in which later led him to be recruited as a government operative (assassin). Later, Oliver wanted out. He wanted to live a normal life with his family. However, just as he had no option, but to survive and fight in Vietnam; he had no option, but to join this paramilitary government program, thus he had no options for retirement. They denied him his retirement by denying him his family and killing them; and after eliminating Oliver's family they were ready to retire him permanently. So, he went into hiding. Oliver Stone, was now bound and determined to find his families killers. Along the way he met some folks that will later become his most trusted friends and allies who assist him in reaching the Truth which eventually leads to Justice. Read or do the audio books their both, Awesome!!!!!
Haven’t read Baldacci in a while. It was fun to get back to his book. He always keeps you on the edge of your seat. Looking forward to other books in this series.
