Loved Creed but didn't really care for Yvonne all that much. For some reason I saw her as weak and one dimensional. Normally I love all Rachel Lee' characters but the only woman that I liked in this series so far is Chloe. The story is a four just because of the strong male leads. I loved Jude Messenger and Creed. The lead male character for book 3, Luc St. Just, was introduced in this book. I hope I like the heroine in his book better.

Creed Preston: 100 year old vampire... ex-Professor... now part of EAst Coast Think Tank, and does most of research at home... bored, found more pleasure in helping Jude (in last book) so he's hanging out at the agency...

Yvonne Depuis: new resident in his apartment building (though he hardly thought about her)... she goes to Jude because she 'feels' evil in her new apartment and the feeling is growing... an author, she mostly works from home... just out of a relationship, with a guy who was getting into Satanism - and apparently offered her as a sacrifice - to be his bride... and the demon is getting stronger, and seeking her out in her apartment (hence her feeling)

Jude Messenger: assigns Creed to protect her...

Terri, Chloe, and Garn, er:

Yvonne and Creed build a bond as they are thrown together day and night... he wards off the demon... he finally determines she is his lifemate - and she eagerly accepts it...

and she (knowing Creed and Jude are her backup) faces the demon, enslaves him with the blessed necklace, and sends him back to hell...

"Yvonne? Did no one ever teach you that some burdens can be borne with joy?"
"No morsel had ever smelled so good to him. 'Hi, Creed'"

Very good book. This had me on the edge of my seat in a few spots. Its about Yvonne Dupuis and she has moved into a new apartment. She hasn't felt good in the apartment as it feels like someone, namely a demon, is watching her all the time or has been in her apartment when she is gone. She turns to Investigator Creed Preston, a Vampire. This is a cat and mouse game between the demon and the Vampire and it keeps you reading. Lots of action. Romance . Recommend.

I love me a good vampire story. I would happily follow this particular vampire forwards and backwards in time. The supporting cast would have fascinating backstories too.

Well I will say it wasn't my favorite book but it wasn't the most hated either.

The books premise was interesting. I wish I read Judes story just to get a background. It's the typical vampires can't go out in daylight and feast only on blood. The interesting parts of the book was learning that the vampires such as Jude exorcise demons and evil spirits. They can handle holy objects and do the supposed "lords work" ridding evil of the world.

I liked Creed to an extent. I understand he was turned against his will and so on. Most vampires usually are. What ticked me off was his whole I don't deserve happiness. I am too much of a danger and can hurt whoever I love. Turns out he was wrong.

Yvonne I liked. But her personality was kind of a bit bland. She took the whole paranormal in stride didnt freak out too much. I just didn't love her like I do other heroines. She seems to distance her self too much. She was a sissy in my eyes. Never really taking charge and defending herself.

Anyways. I do think Luc is interesting and Inlike Chloes attitude.

In Lee's paranormal romance novel, writer Yvonne Dupuis is accumstomed to taking care of herself. When she moves into her new apartment, she senses a demon. Reaching out to a sexy vampire for help, Investigator Creed Preston takes the case and finds himself more than just a little attracted to his client. Under his protection, Yvonne is drawn to the sheer force of immortal desire as evil comes hunting her. A good installment to The Claiming series.

I read this romance novel in a few days and found it to be a fantastic read. I agree with one reviewers that I enjoyed Male Character Creed, and some supporting characters Chole (office assistant) a lot better than main heroine Yvonne. I did enjoy the story line and the and ending was great.
I can not wait to read other books in Rachel Lee's series.

Not bad, maybe more 2 1/2 stars than 3. Nothing terribly gripping that I will remember but competently written. Unfortunately a bit of a retread of the first book in the series. Liked the characters Yvonne and Creed though.
