This is an incredible work of fiction. The style read like a mosaic of a Victorian Penny Dreadfuls, occult manifestations, and historical drama. Tons of action situations, duplicity and tension on every page.

The work continually shifted my speculative thoughts about what was possible and mystical possibilities, searching for plausible solutions. Oh joy, the author wrapped up each with unexpected results, that took my second guessing and turned it inside out and upside down.

The adroit author managed to keep his large menagerie of distinctive characters clear of mass confusion for this reader.

Wonderful fantasy written in a compelling style reminiscent of 19th. century literary craftsmen. The ending left me cliff-hanging in such a way that a sequel is certainly bound to show up. Soon I hope.

Update: 100% completed now. I've been hooked on this for ages but I've loved the story line. It's well balanced as I've said before and the author has positively done a good job of it. I feel that the characters have been brought to life from the pages and were written very well. Thank you, Mackenzie, for a great novel. Hope the sequel will be available real soon as itching to read what happens next :) x
