I'm trapped in a cave with a bunch of magic I can't control and a hot fae king who thinks we're soulmates.
I’ve been avoiding him for months. Turning him down, and acting like I'm not attracted to the guy.
But everything changes when I become a fae too, one with uncontrollable fire powers that threaten to take complete control.
Suddenly, there's no way to ignore him—and I need him to teach me how to be like him so we can rejoin the rest of the kings and ex-humans.
I have to figure out how to stop myself from falling in love with the guy who would literally walk through fire to find me. Because I destroy everything I love… and I refuse to let myself ruin him.
*This is the third in a series of steamy connected standalones. Humor and HEA guaranteed ;)

"We will never end, Velvet. This bond--this connection--it makes us endless. Together, we are eternal."
4.25 stars!
I've been looking forward to Margo and Odin's story as Margo has been so against mating because of her past, but these two surprised me in how their relationship developed. I loved how patient yet confident Odin was with Margo; his stability and self-assuredness was exactly what she needed in order to feel safe moving forward with their bond. Neither Margo nor Odin were perfect, but their strengths complimented each other beautifully and allowed them to be vulnerable. I loved Margo's growth as she finally learns to accept herself, and I am stoked for Ayla and Flood's book next!
Tropes: fated mates, romantasy, scorned heroine, cinnamon roll hero, friends-to-lovers, forced proximity, he-falls-first, grumpy/sunshine, magical fae world, band of brothers, found family, STEAMY🔥

I adore Lola’s books and after this I just need more and to know what will happen next, I loved Margo and Odin so much, they’re great characters with such an interesting story , great chemistry, communication and working together it’s so refreshing to see in a couple .I thought this was a great story, can’t wait for the next.

Quick, easy read. Love how the main character loves and discusses fantasy books as her escape — same girl. Felt like there really wasn’t a complex plot, but this one may just be more foundational for others in the series. Still enjoyed it as a fun day read.
Margo is the third human woman who has turned Fae in the series. She is chosen by the Fire element and was taken from Earth to be the mate of the King of Disaster- Earth element- Quake. His real name, which will only be used by her as is the Way on Bluhm, is Odin. It takes a bit before she can use that name because of the Earther connotations. Quake calls her Velvet, which is his private name for his mate. She has a horrible past while living on Earth and it has changed how Quake treats her, somewhat. So there is a lot of work for their relationship to be taken before it can be taken to the next level, plus trust. As all powerful Fae elementals- Quake has lost one of his senses. He is blind. He desperately wants to be able to see his mate.
Quake is funny and fun and I like how he treats Margo. I also like how the other Kings interact with him. Sevva is Quake’s sister and one of the things the King is required to do is prevent the cracks from getting bigger, however, due to the fact that the King’s start off crazy and only kisses from their mate bring them back to awareness and for a short time until the mate link between them gets stronger. The people of Quake’s element don’t trust him, which I think is stupid. They are idiots on how they treat him and all I could do was shake my head and curse them out as I read. But the end is good. I really enjoyed the book and I can’t wait for Flood’s book. I’m also worried about little Dove. Her powers are so strong that she will be losing a sense soon, which I find sad, but I understand that there must be balance, and I like how the author shows that there must be balance in magic.

It was so enticing that I couldn’t put it down, this book grabbed my interest from the very first page. I had to know what happened next. The story is well written with a very good storyline. This series has five books. They are recommended for ages 17+ due to language and sexual content. Each book in this series is steamy connected standalones and follows a different couple with their own happily ever after, and the stories can be read in any order (but recommended to read them in order for best understanding) for they each end with a lead-in to the next couple's book. This is the third standalone book in the Kings of Destruction series. This a story about a woman named Margo (Velvet by her mate) and a man named Odin (Quake by his people and by his mate when his magic possesses him), who is the King of Quakes. She’s trapped in a cave with a bunch of magic she can't control and a hot fae king who thinks they're soulmates. She’s been avoiding him for months. Turning him down, and acting like she’s not attracted to the guy, but everything changes when she becomes a fae too, one with uncontrollable fire powers that threaten to take complete control. Suddenly, there's no way to ignore him, and she needs him to teach her how to be like him so they can rejoin the rest of the kings and ex-humans. She has to figure out how to stop herself from falling in love with the guy who would literally walk through fire to find her because she destroys everything she loves, and she refuses to let herself ruin him. So with all that and more this story pulls you in and holds you tight. I can’t wait to read the next story in the series. I highly recommend to everyone.
This one surprised me because I naturally went into this book unsure how to approach the FMC Margo and opening myself up to giving her a chance. Considering how bitter and rude she appeared in the previous two books but I was more than happy by the direction it went in.
While I did find her frustrating at times I actually did like Margo. I especially loved Quake, aka Odin. Dealing with his disability was difficult enough for him but to learn that your mate might hate you because of what was done to her on earth and you had no idea until Harper explained it was rough. And I appreciate he was remorseful and careful with her after realizing his approach was the wrong way to earn Margo's trust. Although Margo struggled with Odin's new gentleness and didn't want him to test her differently despite being relieved he understood part of her reasons for treating everyone so coldly the last few months. To say Margo was prickly would be an understatement but she was more or less very distrustful and exhausted from living in flight or flight mode all her life. Didn't think it was worth the effort or pain to open up to anyone when they either hurt you, used you or left you.
So, yeah her motivations behind her crappy behavior was very relatable and explained a lot. I'm surprised by how much I did enjoy her character quite frankly because I truly didn't like her at all in the previous books.
Anyway, a nice addition to the series. It was intriguing seeing how the earth fae treated Odin and meeting his family. Same for watching Margo and the other ladies learning their powers.
This has to be one of my most favourite series. Each time I fall in love with the couple and each time a book ends I always want more. Margo has endured a life that no-one should. Neglectful father, a life in the care system that is a total irony really as it does anything but care. She is a survivor but that has been hard won and she has lost a lot of herself along the way. Her softness, patience, optimism and trust have all been forfeit. She has fallen into a world that is forcing her to see what she has had to do and who she has become. Frankly the whole thing is messing her head up even more and then in the middle of it all, Quake well Odin. Odin has been waiting for his mate for as long as he has drawn breath. It was the one thing that kept him going when the rest of the world and most especially his people much turned against him. He tried to help and protect those who treated him badly but he is determined that he will do all he can to have Margo by his safe for the rest of his life. She is like the very fire she wields, uncontrollable, unpredictable, vibrant and if you hold on too tight gone. Can these two learn to trust each other?
Me encantó!
This was another great book in the series that gives us Margo and Quake's story. Margo has a cruel and rude attitude that she uses as a sort of protective measure because based on her past. She knows that nothing good ever lasts. She has finally gotten her element which is fire, but she must learn to master it in order to avoid hurting anyone or anything. I love that all of the kings aren't perfect and when it comes to Quake, his magic is so strong that it affected his sight at a young age. However, his loss of sight only made him stronger in his other senses and stronger as a King. He has saved his kingdom many times yet the people have dismissed him but that will be a huge mistake on their part. They will need him sooner than he will need them. I loved that the author gave us a little surprise with Margo and Quake in more than one way and I'm looking forward to getting to know more about Granite. This story has a sweet and happy ending for Margo and Quake and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
I give this book 3.5 stars. I love Lola. She builds fantastic worlds and has great stories to tell. This one missed the mark a bit for me. There just wasn’t a lot going on. It was a little boring. Needed more plot/conflict to carry it through. I don’t mind Margo. Odin was fine too. It has a happy ending and you get to see some of the characters from the other books in the series. In Lola’s recent books, every character uses the word sh*tty to describe everything. Every time I come to this word I roll my eyes. Not every character thinks using that same world. Would love for Lola to branch out and use more descriptive words to deepen her writing. Anyway, read it but just now this is my least fave of this current series.
I really enjoyed Margo (Velvet) and Odin (Quake’s) story. They have both struggled in the past, her with her life on Earth and him in losing his sight when he gained his powers; but when she becomes a fire fae he helps her to learn how to use her new power.
She’s full of fire (literally), and he’s very calm and down to earth, but they work so well together in overcoming their fears (I loved how she longed to help him find a way to regain his sight). This is a lovely story, with some great humour to it; and I love the introduction of Granite, hopefully we’ll see more of him in the series.

**SPOILER ALERT** Wow, is all I can say!! I think this is the best book in the series. The way that Margo went from being the giant pain in the butt nobody wanted to be around, and then finally getting an understanding of how and why she ticked. Then, having to listen to how fire cannot be controlled and Margo/Velvet having to burn through all of her emotional baggage and come out stronger for it. Sign me up to be a fire Fae especially if it comes with the patient and fun loving Quake/Odin as a mate. A truly wonderful addition to the series. I am looking forward to Ayla’s story next, and it can’t come soon enough!!.

3.5 ⭐️ I loved Margo and Odin story! They've both had their share of challenges, but when Margo becomes a fire fae, Odin steps up to help her master her newfound abilities.
Margo's fiery personality and Odin's grounded nature make for a perfect match, especially as they conquer their fears together. I'm really excited about Granite's introduction; hopefully, he'll have a bigger role in future books!
While I don't mind the seamless continuation from previous books, I was really hoping to read more about Quake and Margo's early days, especially their playful bickering. Previous books hinted at it, but diving deeper into their beginnings would have added even more fun amidst the darker moments of the story.
Oh how I waited to read the story of those two. Once again Lola managed to write a beautifull story of patience, courage and the willingness to fight for happiness to get your happy end. Quake and Velvet (Odin and Margo) have such a nice chemistry. Despite her past, Margo is not afraid of intimacy, she reclaimed that part of her life for herself after surviving assault and rape. Odin is nothing but patient and determined to prove he is fireproof and can survive her fire - the fae one just as well as the fiery spirit she has. With time she lets herself hope she can keep happiness and love in her life - not loose it just like she did every time before. After all, Bluhm is a special place...
I loved the book but wanted to see Odin put the advisors in their place and strip them of their power to decide when and if the and by extension the people listen to their king. Obviously they are unable to safely protect the people. While I understand Odin wanting to walk away from the roll of king as it was, I would respect him more if he stepped up, took the full reigns of a ruler and used the sway he holds after saving them. Use that hold to take back the power to rule for the people & the earth they live on. Granite, even after more training will not have the clout to demand the changes but Keen does.
Margo has been through a lot when she was on Earth. Now she is a Fire Fae she is more in control. Quake adore Margo and is very conscious of her emotional state. He loves her and is waiting for her to feel the same way. He cares for her and for his people, even though it becomes clear that they do not care for him. This is a great story about overcoming your fears and realising that what you have, is what you have always wanted. This book introduces new characters and a new dimension to the series. This story is a great addition. 5 stars!
I’ve loved all your books and I’ve read quite a few of them, I love your characters so many different ways for women to be strong, don’t get dishearten because some people like to bring people down with there negative thoughts and opinions, I can’t write books and I fucking love to read so anyone who can do it has my thanks, and love, thanks for the worlds I’m able to escape into, the characters that I want to be, please don’t let negative idiots get to you, you got this 🥰👍
I love this series. I know some people have reviews being butt hurt about some of the terminology the author uses (example: sane/insane). At the end of the book the author even worries about Quakes real name offending people. It’s sad she has to worry about petty things. It’s a story for entertaining purposes. If you don’t like it and don’t feel “entertained” put down the book and move on to something else. That’s what I’ve done in the past when I don’t enjoy a story.
I will start off by saying I love Quake and the fact that he did not show a lot of emotion at times. He took time to process his thoughts when something big happened with his people. I was not a fan of Margo at first and there were times she would get on my nerves on what would make her mad. I enjoyed the end of the book and how the different elements were needed to enhance magical experience. I like how a new character was introduced and I did enjoy this book. I am more excited for the next story to begin with the epilogue but all in all still love the King.
I had a blast with this book. I was looking for a quick, satisfying Fae tale after a severe book hangover and Lola delivered as usual!
One of the things I love about Lola's Fae books is her depictions of people who are thrown into similar circumstances but have different experiences based on their history and personality. Because of the HEA style ending everything resolves at the end. I can't wait for Flood's story!.

When you find a an author that holds you that is 100% amazing BUT when you find a character that you feel really represents how you feel and see you self .... Mind BLOWN! Margo was like looking in a mirror and seeing a future I could grow in. And well as with all of Looks men... Quake is just yummy with or without hair!.

Book 3 of Kings of Disaster, I love this story and series. It is such a fun read as it is jammed packed with action, drama, and suspense. We learned so much about Margo/Velvet in this book and Quake/Odin was fantastic in this story. Every lady’s dream. I loved how the story ended. It was extremely well written and developed. Loved the steamy times, this is most definitely a must read!.

I love this series. The imagination that Lola Glass writes in her stories are both heartwarming and thought provoking. All of the characters in these stories feel like someone you might know, which gives you a little insight as to their lives. I am enjoying reading about all of the kings and their mates and how they get their HEA’s. Thank you Lola and I look forward to reading more of your stories.
I've read the first 3 and liked everything about them. I absolutely relate to Margo's way of dealing with things by getting lost in books. My mom passed from Alzheimer and books helped me keep my sanity while taking care of her. I'm starting the 4th book when I finish this review and can't wait to see what happens with Flood and Ayla. This is the only review I have ever posted, the books are that good!
I loved the perspective from quake. How this book he was patient with Margo. He gave grace and was patient with her traumatic past. In turn Margo bloomed as a character. She did a lot of growing in this book. Her previous appearances in the first 2 books was annoying with her constant negativity. This book she grew as a person and we got to see a whole new side.i liked that they learned to set boundaries but they were also had giving hearts.
A decade ago, four kings of fae lands killed a fae who held immense power. The power settled on the kings when the old fae died, but on top of their existing well of power it was too much and drove them insane. Human women were abducted in hopes of bringing the kings out of their insanity with a mate bond. This is the story of Quake, king of the Earth fae and his human bonded. It’s a great book. I definitely recommend reading this series if you’re a fan of spicy fantasy.
Claiming the King of Quakes is Odin "Quake" and Margo's fae HEA. Margo went through a trauma on Earth and hasn't been able to trust. Anything permanent was never in the cards for her, but Quake is offering forever. Can she trust that she's enough for him... Loved it! Well written. Highly recommend.
