The Melodramatists: A Novel

Rate this book
When two daughters are left to their own devices, they soon wreak havoc on their father's wealthy Boston household.  While Susan carries on an affair with her psychiatrist and is blackmailed by the butler, Claire turns the third floor into a rehabilitation center for prostitutes.  And that's just the start of the dizzying round of events that make up this wickedly funny satire on contemporary American life.

I had such a difficult time getting into "The Melodramatists" by Howard Nemerov. The book is very intelligently written and I am sure for the right reader, it will be a five star read but for me, it was just so-so.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
