Armed with his unswerving love and wolfish charm, he sets out to remind Darcy just how valuable she is and why there is no one else for him but her.

In Short
- I really like Belinda's writing and how well it all flows
- Love how Belinda writes the human and wolf as two separate people
- The main male character, Mason, is a guy you will straight away fall for
- This book wasn't what I was expecting.
- There isn't much action but plenty of getting to know the characters more.
- It went in a direction that I wasn't expecting

In Long
Without Mercy, the first in this series, was a very short book at 24 pages but one that I quickly become engrossed in. Belinda's writing quickly grabs your attention and makes you hold on for the next word throughout the whole book!
Cherished wasn't as tense and took a direction which I wasn't expecting which has lead to me having mixed feelings about Cherished. In one way I was disappointed, not much happened and nothing that I was expecting. I kind of wanted more and expected it to have more action but instead got many 'bonding' scenes between the two main characters which I felt didn't really add much to the book. But as I said, disappointment was only one of the feelings, I enjoyed the romance and the very cute scenes. I also enjoyed getting to know the two main characters more which I wasn't able to do in the first book due to the very fast paced storyline. I was almost glad for the slower storyline as the more I got to know the main characters the more I liked them, I really feel Belinda has made two characters with their own strong traits.
I really enjoy Belinda's little things she added throughout the book which made it stand out. For example in this book the wolf and human are almost separate 'people' and I really liked these added things.

Final Thoughts
Belinda is a great author who is very talented. I look forward to her books in the future. Her writing is one which really grabs you in and continues to keep your attention.

Cherished . . what a word.
After reading this installment in the Mystic Wolves Series, I bet we will all be looking for a Mason for ourselves.
Crack open this book and discover what it's like to be loved, even when you feel like you don't deserve it. Feel what's like to feel like a failure, and be told you are anything but. For a moment, get lost in the words and be Darcy for just that moment when she realizes, that she is truly cherished.

Walk with Darcy and Mason as they find a way to work through the loss of Jasmine. It's not a simple case of dealing as humans would, they must also allow for their wolf side to deal as well. With each side having their own way, it makes for an intense rush of emotions.

Not to worry, sudden rush of heat, sweat on the brow, and the sudden urge to howl are normal at the end of this book.
(It's ok . . go ahead and let it out.)

Cherished is an emotional rollercoaster as Darcy and Mason come to grips with the loss of a sister, the betrayal of a friend and find that together, they can face anything.

In Without Mercy where we were introduced to Darcy, a young woman and the intended werewolf mate of pack alpha Mason, whose simple trip to the convenient store with her future sister-in-law turns tragic. Cherished begins not even 24 hours later with Darcy hoping it was all just a frightening nightmare only to wake up and discover it was anything but. She is torn with guilt over the loss of Jasmine and the fierceness in which she took a life, unable to face her pack and intended mate she plans to run away when Mason steps forwarded, hearing her thoughts. Determined to prove that he loves her no matter what and her place is with him, Mason sets aside his alpha duties and sets out to prove to Darcy that as long as they love each other, they can get through anything - together.

Cherished is a different type of tale then Without Mercy; where as in Without Mercy we experienced a lot of action and suspense without getting too much into the characters mindset in Cherished it’s all about the characters and their emotions. Full of passion, love and romance; Darcy and Mason help each other through the guilt and aftermath of the attack and as we delve into their characters more they in turn are learning more about each other. Darcy and Mason fortify their bond with each other while ramping up the sexual tension. We also delve into the pack’s dynamics, learn a bit more about the paranormal world Belinda Boring has created with Mystic Wolves, and see how Darcy and Mason first met. In which all of this opens up story lines for future books. I think of the series as a television series; you get little 30 minute episodes at a time that keeps you in suspense wondering what will happen next week!

I waffled between a 3.5 and 4 when rating Cherished because there was a lot of dialogue and rehashing of feelings and events with little to no action and suspense, but with the intense heart-wrenching emotion the author weaved on every page I’m sticking with a 4. I do not recommend this as a standalone; you should read Without Mercy before delving into Cherished. A quick dip into the paranormal world and a nice break from full length novels, I can’t wait to read what happens next and hope that we can hurry up and get to this mating bond ceremony! ;)

Cherished is book 2 in Belinda Boring's Mystic Wolves series. Each book in this series is a novella, a short story in a big picture, and I am loving the concept and the books. In book 1, Without Mercy, we met Darcy. Darcy was in a very dangerous situation that did not end very well. Book 2, Cherished picks up where book 1 left off and Darcy and her fiancé, the Alpha werewolf Mason, are dealing with the aftermath and the emotions from tragedy.

Cherished is much different from Without Mercy. Without Mercy was heavy on the action and suspense, whereas Cherished focuses on emotions and the relationship between Mason and Darcy. Mason was very briefly introduced in Without Mercy, but we hardly got to know him. In Cherished, Mason and Darcy have to work through their emotions and their feelings of guilt. They both need to let things go, and learn to be fully honest with each other. Cherished is about their emotional roller-coaster, and it is very moving.

Readers get to learn more about the werewolf pack and the workings of the supernatural world a bit more. The tragedy in Without Mercy did not just bring heartache, it also brought drama and questions and mystery that needs to be solved. Cherished continues the story of the Mystic Wolves series, and continues to set up future story lines. Each novella unravels a bit more to the story and I am very eagerly anticipating the next book in the series.

With Cherished, Belinda Boring has shown that she can write emotion and depth, action and suspense in a new way that will leave readers longing for more. The Mystic Wolves series is a must read for fans of paranormal and werewolf reads.

Cherished is the second book in the Mystic Wolves series by Belinda Boring. This book is its prequels complete opposite but is still just as breathtaking. The emotion, the love and most of all, the passion is what makes this novella mind blowing.

Darcy and Mason make the most amazing couple. Darcy is still taking in and processing the events from the previous day and Mason is trying to help her come to terms with it whilst dealing with his own issues. It is just amazing the way that Mason tries to make Darcy feel better and build her confidence even though he is going through hell himself. I just love how selfless he is and Darcy is the exact same when it comes to her man and her pack.

Without Mercy’s theme, I think, is retribution whereas Cherished’s theme is more centered on love. I don’t just mean the whole lovey dovey emotions that go with love or the lust (well a little of that) but it’s more about the more complex emotions that make a relationship really strong enable it to go the distance. I don’t want to say too much or else I will ruin the novella for you.

Overall, just absolutely loved every word of Cherished. It had me gripped all the way through and I was just in awe of Mason and Darcy. They are definitely one of my top favourite fictional couples. Mason + Darcy = SWOON!! Can’t possibly say anything else except..READ IT!

After reading the first book, I was so excited to read Cherished so I could get more time with Mason! And holy crap, did he blow any expectation I had of him out of the water. He was just so much more then I could have wanted.

Cherished is so full of love and passion. Both Mason and Darcy are trying to deal with the sadness of what happened in the first book. Mason really goes above an beyond to make her feel okay even though he is hurting too. He is just so passionate and caring and you can't help but love him. The sexual tension these two have is on the extreme side! I am marking my calendar until their mating bond.lol.

It was a great book really giving you time to see just how connected and in love these two are. We only got a brief glimpse in the first book. I was glad for the time to fully see these two together because who knows what the next book will hold. And I can not wait to read it!!

Call the folks over at Merriam Webster and let them know of an immediate change: the word "romance" should now include a cover picture of Cherished. Seriously, I haven't read such a truly romantic story in a long time.

When we left werewolf Darcy in Without Mercy, she was just beginning to deal with the aftermath of the terrible ordeal of losing Jasmine and embracing the wolf inside her for retribution.

Cherished takes place directly after and we see Darcy suffering with her actions, the pain of losing someone close, and wondering whether she is tough enough to make it as the mate of their pack's alpha, Mason. Cherished opens with a gut wrenching, emotional scene between Darcy and Mason and never gives up throughout. We witness the meaning of true love: the raw emotions and feelings, the touches and kisses, and the looks and longing shared between two soul mates. What's incredible is they never consummate their relationship--their mating ceremony is still a month away.

The novella flows from scene to scene and seems to unravel in real time. Darcy's outbursts, insecurities, concerns--everything is voiced and brought out into the open. The reader gets to see this young woman at her worst, and with Mason's love and care, her best. There is so much dialogue between this couple, I couldn't help but really like them. And Mason, can a hunky guy get anymore perfect? Tough exterior, business-minded when needed, protective of his pride and his mate, caring enough to sit in the dark, breaking a meeting to take his woman for a run to a scenic spot, he is incredibly swoonworthy, sexy and sublime. Mason is a powerful Alpha and yet with Darcy, there is such a tender side to him which makes him endearing.

While I was enjoying Darcy and Mason, I was wondering if anything else would happen and by the end I realized it had: Ms. Boring had set me up for the next part of her Mystic Wolves series. With the introduction of the Enforcer Devlin, vampire leader Zane and witch Vivien, as well as noting Darcy's problem with her mental connection to Mason, I need to know what happens next (could I see some more of Daniel too, please?).

Belinda Boring must be an unabashed romantic because she has brought back romance to paranormal romance novellas with Cherished, a story one can reread again and again to savor the feelings and sensations of a young wolf couple as they cope with betrayal, deal with loss, and strengthen an already strong relationship. Darcy and Mason have my vote for Most Romantic Couple of the Year. Highly recommended. (from my blog: http://readergirls.blogspot.com/2011/...)

Romancing the Dark Side Review:

Full of gripping emotion and unconditional love!

In the first installment of this series we meet Darcy, a werewolf engaged to the pack Alpha who experiences a great loss at the hands of betrayal when an innocent walk with her future sister in law Jasmine, turns tragic. Set hours after Without Mercy, Cherished explores the main characters, Mason and Darcy, as they try to heal after the death of Jasmine and mend their relationship. Together they learn you can face anything when you have true love by your side.

Although the first story was short in length, I really connected with Mason and Darcy and was anxious to learn more about them when I reached the last page. Now in Cherished, the story focuses less on the action and suspense of the first, giving us more character development and overwhelming emotions. Feeling immense guilt for not being able to evade the untimely death of her sister in law, Darcy struggles with leaving her pack and man she loves. When her fiancé Mason reads her thoughts, he is forced to go to any lengths to prove to Darcy just how much he needs and loves her.

Strong emotions unwrapped as each character bares their soul and begins to shed their past guilt to begin a new life together. One of the sweetest elements of this story is just how pure Mason and Darcy's love truly is, she is still a virgin and he refuses to give into his carnal desires until they are properly mated. These two characters have a beautiful connection and certainly know how keep the reader wanting with their sexual tension!

The supernatural world of werewolves is also explored a bit more in this book. We learn more about the pack world, their rules and even get a flashback of when Mason and Darcy first met! Belinda Boring has given us a sequel just as marvelous as the first with her descriptive writing, extraordinary characters and raw emotion that will leave you longing for more of her world of mystic wolves!

Book Synopsis

For a moment, Darcy almost convinced herself the last twelve hours didn’t happen. As image after image hits her, the sinking realization of all she’s lost overwhelms her and all she can think of is to run. Run far away where her shame can’t find her, and most of all, where she’ll never have to see the look of blame in Mason’s eyes. Feeling like a complete failure, she scrambles to make plans. But the voice of her mate-to-be penetrates her frantic thoughts, asking for the chance to show her just how much she is loved.

It hurts Mason deeply to hear Darcy’s thoughts, knowing the events of the previous night have completely rattled her. Grieving over the death of his beloved sister Jasmine, Mason knows he has to act fast. Darcy is all he’s ever wanted and the idea of life without her is unacceptable. Armed with his unswerving love and wolfish charm, he sets out to remind Darcy just how valuable she is and why there is no one else for him but her.

Can Darcy let go of the shame of failure consuming her or will Mason convince her that after all is said and done, she truly is… Cherished?

My Thoughts

Cherished being the second novella in the Mystic Wolves series has the relationship between Mason and Darcy being explored in depth. The characters are vividly portrayed and come to life in the pages in a way that transports the reader into their lives as the story unfolds.
This is a very enjoyable journey back into the world of the author has created, the emotional impact of the read will take you from happy to sad and back again.
There is no going back, once you read "Cherished" you are going to be fully vested in this series and all the more anxious to continue when the next installment is released just like I am!

Cherished is the extremely emotional continuation of the Mystic Wolves series. Where in Without Mercy we saw the fiercely protective side of Darcy and her inner wolf, in Cherished we see her more vulnerable human side and how it competes with and works together with her wolf. While I’m talking about her wolf, I think this is a great time to mention how much I love the distinction that Boring makes between Darcy as a human and “her” wolf. I was fascinated by the way that there are essentially 2 separate entities here and Darcy’s wolf has the power to take over if Darcy as a human is overwhelmed or extremely threatened. This struck me as incredibly unique and certainly gave another layer to the story.

Cherished is full of raw emotion and passion…. Lots of passion. Those who wanted to read more about Mason and Darcy will not be disappointed. After reading Without Mercy I thought that Mason had some definite swoon potential and I was right. Cherished is a novella and I was worried about how I would really be able to get to know the characters in such a short period of time but Boring crafted them brilliantly. In terms of events less than a day passes during Cherished so the focus really is on Darcy and Mason, both their reaction of the events of the previous book and their feelings for each other. Not a word is wasted so even though the entire book is under 21 000 words I felt as though I got to know these characters better than I sometimes do after reading a full length novel.

I highly recommend Cherished to fans of paranormal romance but definitely suggest that you read Without Mercy first. Go ahead and treat yourself – you know you want to!

REVIEW:
Oh how I wish the Mystic Wolves novellas were longer, I get so into the story and characters and then it ends. Belinda Boring really knows how to draw me into her story by getting into the emotional side of the characters.

Cherished starts off where the first novella left off and I was excited to get to know more about Darcy and her alpha; Mason a lot more. This novella was focused directly on these two and the grief from the aftermath in Without Mercy.

Darcy feels fully responsible for the loss of Mason’s sister but Mason will do everything he can to show her how much he loves her and how it wasn’t her fault. Their chemistry is undeniable and the readers get a look into their past on how they first met and why their destined to be mated.

Darcy is a tough girl but her emotions really take over and I felt she was almost being childish in the way she acted. Mason has lost his sister and I felt needed his mate to be more supportive as well instead of making him feel worse.

Overall I enjoyed the compassion and love that Darcy and Mason have and developed over the years. I loved Mason and how much he loves Darcy, also that he wants to encourage and protect her. Cherished really went in depth with their relationship and I was happy to get to know them and move forward with the story. I recommend this novella, its short, to the point and we get some steamy scene with the two leads.

I didn't think it could get any better than Without Mercy but I was wrong. First of all, I will groan just a moment ending it the way she did. I really wanted to keep on reading and find out what is going to happen with Devin and how did Gary get the Vampire blood. I guess I have to wait for Blood Oath to find these answers.. Write faster! Belinda I beg you.

Anyway, now that I got the begging out of the way. I remember what I loved about Darcy and Mason 'sigh' what a romantic couple they are. Can I just say where can I find an alpha like Mason? I loved how he comforted her but in typical alpha fashion wouldn't at first let Darcy return the favor.

This short story had me in tears, yes I admit it tears in my eyes(okay maybe I am a sap) but I could truly feel Darcy's pain and guilt over Jasmine. But this book not only had sad tearful moments but it is mixed with a perfect blend of playfulness and oh so steamy moments. Belinda surely can write some kissing scenes wow! if I was either one of these characters I am not sure I could hold back :).

This was an excellent continuation to this series and I so can't wait for Blood Oath. I need it now LOL. okay not now, but as soon as she can get it written. If you haven't read Without Mercy then what are you waiting for, if you have then Cherished is as good if not better than Without Mercy(if that is even possible).

"Cherished" is the entertaining second novella in the Mystic Wolves series. It begins immediately after "Without Mercy" ends. Darcy is reeling from the murder of her almost soon to be sister in law and her attack at gunpoint. She is rethinking whether or not Mason can still find room in his heart to love her and whether she is suitable to be the mate of an Alpha. As she tosses and turns in her sleep, Mason hears her doubts and sets about trying to convince her just how cherished she is to him.

I enjoyed the special moments they shared but had difficulty with a few things. First, I enjoy a little more action in my books. I believe that the storyline would have been greater if Darcy would have run and Mason took off after her. Additionally, I admit I am one of those females who likes to have discussions about my feelings; however, at times I felt it was a little overdone. Finally, my last concern was that I really grew tired of Mason calling Darcy, 'Babe.' There are so many other terms of endearment such as 'love' of just plain Darcy that would not have sounded so....so.........I don't know!

Overall, I enjoyed this book and at times the relationship between Darcy and Mason reminded me of the relationship between Charles and Anna in Patricia Brigg's Alpha and Omega series. Check it out.

Another win for Belinda! This was an incredibly fast read (around an hour) and I loved every second of the ride that she has created with her characters. I loved Darcy and Mason together and their quest to completely understand each other and tear down the walls their hearts have created in a time of grief. The world Belinda has created is wrought with emotion and I completely felt the connection within her characters this time around.

I love how Cherished starts exactly where Without Mercy stopped. I really like the set up of getting a new novelette every few weeks. It ensures readers don’t get bored with the concept while not cutting anything the author thinks is important.

My only bad remark is with Mason. He is depicted as the head of his clan…the strongest warrior. I had zero issues with him showing emotions…in fact I enjoyed that. My thing is with his personality. He uses words like gosh and darn. I just can’t that around my brain. I want him to be forceful….stronger…..It doesn’t fit with the picture painted for him to use such wishy washy language. I don’t want him down and dirty (ok, maybe a little), I just want him to be bigger.

Belinda has a fan in me!

I give Cherished by Belinda Boring 4 stars!

Heartwarming characters and a sexy hero come together to make a wonderful read in Belinda Boring's CHERISHED.

CHERISHED is the sequel to the novelette Without Mercy. After the death of her mate's sister Jasmine and her best friend, Darcy is devastated. She starts to doubt her worth in the eyes of her pack and mate. Mason hears Darcy's thoughts of leaving because she believes she is a failure and it pains him. So he sets out to prove to her once and for all her that she is cherished.

Mason's character was flushed out more in this installment of the Mystic Wolves series. He is a great leader because not only does he have the strength to protect them, but he is also a compassionate alpha. When it comes to his loved ones, he will do anything to protect them, even from themselves. Darcy is also a great character who has her own strength. She is stubborn, but will admit it when she is wrong. These two make a great pair and their relationship is a great example of how two different people can come together and help to balance each other out. There are definitely some steamy moments, but it never goes too far.

For a great read with endearing characters, check out CHERISHED by Belinda Boring.

Cherished is the second novella in Belinda Boring's Mystic Wolves series. It starts with Darcy dealing with the aftermath of everything that happened in the first book. She is experiencing tremendous amounts of grief and guilt – you can actually feel these feelings radiating off of her. Belinda does an awesome job at making you feel the character's emotions.

Mason puts his own grief aside to comfort Darcy. He is hurting just as much as she is, if not more, but you would never know it. Being a man and an Alpha, he pushes his feelings aside so he doesn't appear weak. But it's more than that. He would do anything for his future mate, including putting her first.

Despite the grief these two share, they have many steamy moments in this book. There is plenty of swoon-worthy romance and scorching desire. There are also some moments that will make you tear up. I don't think there's many emotions that you won't feel while reading this heart breaking story.

I'm dying to read more about Darcy and Mason, and I can't wait until the next installment. If you love paranormal romances that are deep and filled with emotion – then this is one series you won't want to miss!

My thoughts:
This is the ultimate love story!
Belinda has again brought us Darcy, the incredible heroine from book one. In Cherished, she is struggling to come to terms with the loss of her friend and soon-to-be mate's sister and her feelings of responsibility for that loss. Mason is magnificent! He is the man that all men (should) strive to be. Compassionate, responsible, fair, honest, passionate, loyal, and honorable, of course it doesn't hurt that he is gorgeous!
Belinda has created characters that you can relate to, and I found myself searching the people in my own life looking for that kind of love and support.
Her writing is so detailed that the imagery brings the story to your brain like a movie.
The emotions are so real and raw that I found myself in tears, holding my breath, on the edge of my seat, and still wanting more.
I am thrilled to have the opportunity to review this book! I LOVED the first Mystic Wolves book - Without Mercy - and was waiting for another. I am fortunate to be able to call Belinda Boring a friend and I am so excited about her publishing another fabulous story!
I can't wait for book 3, 4, and more!!!!

If I thought the first novelette, Without Mercy, was very intense and moving, Cherished is that ten-fold. This is story #2 in the Mystic Wolves series and it takes place the very next day (you’ll have to read Without Mercy—you won’t be disappointed!)

Darcy is now at war with herself over the events of the previous evening. How can the Alpha male of the pack, loving and tender but hard-core tough, Mason, still want her after what happened? How can she be expected to uphold the high standards as mate to the Alpha? Would the pack be better off without her? Mason, ooh lala Mason. He now has to deal with tragedy that befalls the pack and prove to Darcy that she is his one-and-only. Will their love survive the stress of last night?

This novel explores what many people feel when they think they've let down those around them. It helps persuade those ones that you won't be loved less and sometimes things that happen just aren't your fault. I totally recommend this short series and eager anticipate the next installment.

Cherished is the second novella in the Mystic Wolves series, I want to say a massive thank you to the author Belinda Boring for giving me a review copy of this book for her blog tour!

Cherished follows on from Without Mercy just perfectly, it centres around Darcy and Mason and all the emotions they are both feeling after such a great loss of Jasmine the night before.
The book gives the reader an insight into the world of the wolves and their pack, shows us how things are run and what is expected of them.
It also shows the reader just how close these pack members are, they are truly a family.

The story between Darcy and Mason is lovely, I couldn't tear myself away from all the emotion flying between the two of them.
After only getting a brief glimpse of these two characters in the first book I wanted to know more about them, Cherished does just that!

Overall it is a lovely little novella and I am looking forward to reading more in this series!

I stumbled across these novellas last night and decided to give them a read to take a break from Ulysses. Wow! I started reading and it was so hard to put them down! Without Mercy isn't very long, but in that short amount of time you are hooked! You jump right into the action, and it never slows down. Belinda Boring brings so much into these short stories, and leaves you waiting for more. There is one more Mystic Wolves novella out right now called Blood Oath, which I will also review once I've read it. A fourth story is to be released in January. I hope we see a lot more from Belinda in the future, she is an amazing writer and I think we can expect more great stories from her.

If you are looking for a nice short story to relax a bit, maybe just for a change of pace from all of the long novels out there, and if you love a good werewolf story, definitely give these novellas a try!

I loved Without Mercy, and I loved Cherished! This is the second book in the Mystic Wolves series and just as engrossing! Beginning just hours after Without Mercy ends, Cherished is beautifully written. This book is so emotionally charged that you feel is if you are a part of the story. Boring is a genius at writing tremendously gripping stories that stay with you long after you have closed the book. So many times, a story is told from a single, main point of view, with little on the other side to balance it. Not so with Mystic Wolves. The emotional pull comes at you from both sides and that is so refreshing and makes the story that much richer. A paranormal romance it may be, but it is so much more than that. Darcy and Mason are impossible not to love!

This is not a stand alone novella. You really need to read the first book or you will be lost.
Now I really enjoyed the fierce nature of the beast in the first book, and the nature was ever present in this one as well. When they had the initial start in the forest scene, wow!
I also loved the chemistry between Darcy and Mason. You just know they are made for one another.
I wasn't crazy about the pity party though. I felt it made Mason look a little weak. I like a sensitive guy, but when is it whiny?
All in all, a delightful second in the series. I am looking forward to the next though, as it seems to be where power comes in.

I really am so careful about checking the length of a book because I just don't like short stories, but somehow I missed it. My apologies to Belinda Boring and my thanks! Apologies because if I had realized these were short stories I wouldn't have read them and these stories are really good! My thanks, well, because these stories are really good!

The characters are great and the plot is solid. It takes hold and hangs on, moving you along and at the end it feels like you just read a full length novel.

Love the cover, especially the blue eyes. It's a cute story but it's too short and the story goes in circles. It's lacking in story line. I got this story for free from Belinda Boring for an honest review. It's a quick read. I enjoy short books when there is enough of a story line but this didn't have it. It was just a story to show how Mason cherished Darcy even after his sister's death. I wish it had been a bit longer and that there had been interaction between the two main characters and others.

They were both feeling guilty for Jasmine's death. Darcy is feeling really guilty and like a failure but Mason reassures her she is not, he show her she is cherished eventhough he is hurting too.

A lot of emotions going on. It was another great read in this series. I'm really looking forward to read the next one.

I enjoyed this as Mason and Darcy deal with the aftermath of losing Jasmine and Mason spends the story trying to show Darcy how much he loves her and that she is not a failure. Still very short but an enjoyable read!
