The Emergence of Man By John Pfeiffer traces the comprehensive introduction to the evolution of Humans. Although It was written more than 50 yrs ago, but It still covers the fundamental aspect from pre history to the rise of Modern man. now the more research has been done on the subject, and best part was writing style. written in style easily accessible to both scholars or general readers. He provided not just several studies but also the thorough review of fossil records. He focuses on Tool usuage, structure of face evolution and how our smile evolve over time, he compares the modern man with early hominoids, their dress and social behaviour and how Hunting change the size of human brain.
this book was written long back, since then significant advancement has been made in genetics and fossil records and the analysis of records. Only disadvantages was lack of records on genetic info and migration patterns they followed. Currently I'm also reading Jared diamond Rise n fall of third chimpanzees. Hoping to learn more insights on the origin and evolution.
