This book is an exceptional guide through the world of jazz piano. A strong background in jazz theory is recommended. Richards will take you various kinds of chords, chord progressions, and all sorts of really useful jazz licks that help flesh out your improvisations. This is the kind of book that you'll want to go through more than once and keep around as a useful reference. It's a great complement to Mark Levine's Jazz Piano.
