This series by Gilbert Morris is one of my absolute favorites. Each book follows at least one member of a generation in the Winslow family tree and the member(s) gets saved and finds true love. There's also some commentary on the social conditions of the time frame. Truly interesting.

This was an unexpected delight. I bought it while away on vacation and was desperate for some books. I almost didn't read it - the outside cover was not that appealing, but what a great read. Lots of Christian content. Loved it.

This book was somewhat entertaining but it lacked credibility. In fact it was really quite unbelievable. Either the author didn't know what reality looked like in the west in the late 1880's or he simply didn't care. I was frustrated with it.

Like every book in this series - I loved the story, the characters, the trials they endured. I also love the old west which is the setting for this book. Fort Smith, Arkansas and the Indian Territory to the west to be exact.

This is a very exciting story, but I'm wondering, do children who feel that their brothers/sisters are more highly regarded by their family (better looking, better grades, etc) really act this way? If so, it can lead to some disastrous results, esp if the family doesn't have the money that the Winslows have!

In this book of the continue stories of the House of Winslow. Each book follows a family member which started with Gilbert Winslow.

We are introduced to Zack and his grown children. His daughter Betsy feels left out. She feels her sister Lanie is more beautiful and more popular.

Betsy meets Vic. She thinks she's in love and leaves home to go with him. She did not realize that he was an out law. When her family finds out the trouble she is in, lanie feels responsible and foes after her.

Soon to follow is Wesley, a friend of the family.. will not tell about him have to read.
the young Winslow ladies go through a lot. On the end. One of the gangsters finds God... this seems to be a theme in the House of Winslow. Sometimes it is a Winslow and sometimes it is someone they show to find God.

I have read each Winslow book, I grow closer each with each one. I love seeing how it started with Gilbert Winslow and each family looks back to what he did and how he survived thought the brutal first winter in America.

(extensive violence, rape, pre-marital sex (woman is tricked), deception, violence against women) There are a lot of things in this book that are not Christian. It also starts very slow (something I have seen others comment about with this author). There is a little that isn't very believable, but overall, once the book gets started, around chapter 7 or 8, it does get you wrapped up in the story.
