Reaves has escaped, and pretty soon everyone figures out that he’s a bigger threat than ever. He has injected himself with a virus that puts poison dart frog DNA in every cell of his body, and now no one can touch him, not even Swift.

It will take more than just Swift and Kenmei to shut down Reaves’ plans: they need to recruit a team of cat-humans.

The question is will the government let them?

The second book in Angelo Bowles' humorous adventure/sci-fi series ratchets the tension up several knotches...as well as adding several new characters and plot twists. We get to meet some of the other cat-humans who were "adopted" by humans from ZooTek: Swift is recruiting a team to track down Reaves, the villain from the first book, who has injected himself with a virus that spreads poison dart frong DNA throughout his body, significantly altering his appearance and making him deadlier than before.

But the reader's view of Reaves is complicated by the inclusion, after every chapter, of a page from the rogue cat-human's journal. Angelo slowly reveals some startling information about Reaves, and by the end, you'll want to re-read the first book from a very different perspective.

The new characters are great, by the way, especially Mr. Cuddles, who provides a lot of comic relief and charm.

The artwork is also stunning: the off-the-cuff charm of the drawings in Mix-Up evolves into precise, carefully crafted images that make the characters come alive in the reader's mind.

An amazing effort from this young team.
