Read for book club. Although I was reminded to be more conscious of the way I ate (not only the what but the when, why, and how), I thought it was too simplistic and preachy. Not for me.

Also sound, sensible advice. The one thing that really sticks in my head is this: Suppose you love chocolate chip cookies. One night, while you were sound asleep, someone comes into your room and stuffs you full of dozens and dozens of chocolate chip cookies. You'd be mad, right? Because now you ate all those empty calories delicious cookies and didn't even enjoy them. So the advice is -- pay attention to your food. Eat exactly what you love. Stop eating when you are full. If you aren't loving it, quit eating it. (This is where it stops helping me because if I took that advice, I'd never eat another leafy green again.) But I realized how often I eat while scanning the newspaper, while emptying the dishwasher, while helping kids with homework. In other words, without paying attention to the food I'm eating.

Helpful and a quick read. Have I lost weight? Nope.

Some good tips for remaining healthy, but these won't work for everyone, as weight maintenance is complex and not the only indicator of health.
