About the author

Pastor John Hagee and his wife Diana reach out and spread Christ's message throughout the Northern Hemisphere. They reside in San Antonio, Texas with their five adult children, their spouses and grandchildren.

Paster John Hagee is a scholar, musician, athlete, evangelist, and above all, a pastor with a pastor's heart. A fourth-generation preacher in the tradition of his father and grandfathers before him, Pastor Hagee not only shepherds the 17, 000 member, nondenominational Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas, he is pastor to other pastors around the country.

John Hagee Ministries produces three television programs. Cornerstone is a weekly broadcast of the Sunday morning service at Cornerstone Church. John Hagee Today is a teaching program aired Monday through Friday. SundayNightLive is a live-via-satellite broadcast of the Sunday evening service from Cornerstone Church that can be seen in over 93 million homes.

Overall a really good read. At times I found it difficult to take in all of the information from Hagee, but by reading a little each day, I found the book very rewarding

Here's a few passages I highlighted. While they appear obvious, they have tremendous impact:

Avoiding criticism is impossible. Replace your defense mechanism with honesty, love, forgiveness and a sense of humor. The trouble with most of us is that we would rather be ruined by praise than saved by criticism.
A major deterrent to gaining information about ourselves lies in our own natural reluctance to discover anything about ourselves that is less than flattering.
The process of struggle develops your character, your strength, and your mind.

Read one page I turned to and here are the lines on page 82 - People who have perseverance " Do it Anyway! " I challenge you to live by these Paradoxical Commandments by Kent Keith."

1. You will find that people are unreasonable, illogical, and self-centred, yet you love them anyway!
2. If you do good, you will be accused of selfish motives. Do good anyway!
3. Success will win you false friends and true enemies. Succeed anyway!
4.The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway!
5. The biggest people with the biggest ideas can be shot down by mental midgets with smallest ideas. Think big anyway!
6. When you spend years building may be destroyed overnight!. Build anyway!
7. People need help but may attack you for offering your hand. Help them anyway!
8. Giving the world the best you may get kicked in the teeth. Give the world your best anyway!

Great Book to follow and applying your life for your finances through Gods Eye/ instruction. I would recommend. really deep and a lot to get through specially if you looking to change your life wrote your finances and to come closer with God. I read this book years ago and I need to re-read it. Plenty of direct quotes with scriptures on how it applies to you life and what God is saying to do.

You know a book is bad when after the first paragraph you start skimming pages and then chapters. This book isn't worth your time. Essentially it instructs you to become a Christian to unlock your greatness. Sorry Johnny but truly great people don't need the imprisonment of Christianity to be successful.

"Perseverance" still echoes in my mind. Persevering in life is a must, even the simplest do it for they must. But perseverance while walking out your faith with Godly principles is a challenge that is all too easy to shrink away from. May God help us and may the humble be exalted.
