He thought he left his past behind when he moved to a new town, but little did Matthew know that he had to take a step back before he could move forward.
Status:Work In Progress (WIP) on Hiatus Last update:2015-11-28 Latest Chapter: 20/?
Resident of San Francisco I just hope I can amuse everyone long enough with my stories. Let me know what you think in your reviews! Thanks guys, hope you enjoy!
Off to a good start, and while it was left on a cliffhanger, that isn't really a surprise with this author. Perhaps someday the author will have time to finish it, but at 20+ months with no update, that is perhaps hoping for too much.
If you really like the characters, and want to revisit them, but not be left on a cliffhanger, read through chapter 13, as if I remember correctly, that makes a nice sort of end point. While 13 ends on a question, it isn't a life or death situation for anyone at that point, but there are still way too many open plot threads for it to be considered an ending.
Wow. Muffin - or rather, Matthew, now - has definitely matured since the first book. And again, rather tragically so. And it makes me sad.
Sidebar: THE ASHLEY THING. THE ASHLEY PARALLEL. BRIGHTEST BULB, NASTIEST BUGS. THAT IS A PARALLEL TO MUFFIN'S PAST OMG i feel smart i figured that out
Reflections on my Traded analogy from earlier. I think Matt is more understandable a character than Michael was. Michael did the thing because it was the "right thing to do" and he was "inherently a good person." Matt/Muffin, on the other hand, was tired of being pushed around and lashed out the only way he knew how. I think that sort of behavior is a lot more understandable to the mass public than "goodness of the heart" motivation.
This Lestat's place. I read it recently, somewhere. I don't think it was in the first one, which means I read it somewhere else. But where?
The thing is, I understand everything Matthew's going through. The whole trying to act mature, but also painfully aware of one's immaturity, of being caught in that awkward cusp between being a clever fool and settling into a more worldly wisdom. Where you're old enough that all of the bigger people always assume and act like you should be old enough to have all of their life experience and be able to act upon that, and being frustrated because all you can do is try your best at what you know how to do. The whole struggling and struggling and maybe even seeing one day that all these "grown-ups" perhaps aren't as perceptive as you are in some ways, and that they, too, maybe aren't so world-weary and cocksure as they think they are. He's caught in the awkward process of becoming self-aware, all the while getting all this peripheral shit thrown at him.
Love It as much as Muffin 1. Great news people. The Author is back and just updated another chapter. she has an FB page you can fallow her on and the announcement of the latest chapter was posted there. :)
WIP, WIP, WIP, WIP! Why did I do that to myself?!? This ended right in the middle of a scene and it looks like this story hasn't been updated for a year. Ugh. Overall, I enjoyed this much better then the first story - Muffin. But BEWARE that if you start this story it may never have a resolution.
Just finished chapter 20. Why oh why do I start WIPs? This one is fab though and I was so engrossed. Much better than Muffin and with Matthew becoming someone I could actually understand and relate to, I was really enjoying this. Oh well, I shall keep an eye out for updates.
Wow I really liked the Muffin series even though Matthew is not finish yet it a WIP it was good to the end I hope the Mahsa comes back and continue to this series soon... I love Muffin/Asher I hope when she does finish, it's a more steamy!!!!!!!
I know what I am getting myself into when I started to read this story. I know it's WIP. I want to hit my head because I started to read this WIP. I LOVED what I am reading so far. So much tension and emotion. Hopefully the author will post the rest of the chapters soon.
