Adaptation of a two-part 3rd season episode of the Starsky & Hutch TV series. Bizarre storyline about voodoo and murders on an island - similar to an earlier series episode that involved a vampire and murders. The writing is enjoyable and on par with all the other books in this series. Definitely reads a bit more grounded on the page than how it plays out on-screen.

It’s all fun to a point although nothing great about the storyline itself. There’s so many better episodes they could have adapted for another novel over this one. Better yet, create an original story for a novel. But this is the one they chose to go with and it ends up being the only 3rd season episode they adapted and the last novel in the Starsky & Hutch book series.

Enjoyable for what it is — a less than gritty Starsky & Hutch story that has fun with its characters. And while it ends the book series on a note far from where the TV series itself began (at the beginning the series was grittier, a bit more violent and action-oriented) it was still fun to close out the last few pages with the playful banter between Dave Starsky and Ken Hutchinson. Kinda makes me wish there were more books in this fun little series.
