I learned that it takes a strong person to be able to go through all the things a military wife has to come across in there everyday lives. Most people think how can you go without seeing the one you love but they don't understand that you can't control who you fall in love with. For that reason you do anything and everything to be there for your loved one no matter what because in the end its there love that keeps you going and not to give up on what you are fighting for.

As a "veteran" military wife, I could really relate to a lot of these stories. Some were just a good story, and many brought me to tears. I don't think you can fully understand the life of a military family until you've been there.

Reading stories like these, that have to do with writing letters and not hearing from their spouse in months, makes me very grateful for cell phones and FaceTime. I thought 9 months without Logan was hard. But we FaceTimed everyday. I don’t know how these wives managed to go months without hearing anything. I would lose my mind. So thankful to have the technology that we have today!

This is one of my favorite books I have ever read. I am a marine girlfriend so I can relate to all of these stories. It takes a lot of strength to be in love with someone in the military. I am glad to know I’m not the only one who thinks and feels this way. This book tells the stories of hardships that military wives and girlfriends had to go through. I was recommended this book by a friend who is a marine wife. This book helped her get through so much. The stories will touch your heart. I would recommend this book to anyone who is in this situation. It lets you feel like you are not alone while they are away. I am warning you, this book can make you very emotional.

I absolutely LOVE this book. It really helped me through a lot. Not the best book to read if your husband is deployed. It makes you very emotional. You definately don't need that while he is gone. But if he is at home definately recomend it. I LOVE IT.

I love this book! I am a military spouse myself and those stories motivated and helped me understand and accept my husbands job. They made me feel seen and appreciated for my own sacrifices. Some stories made me smile, some made me cry, a lot of them I could relate to myself. I highly recommend!

Such a moving, inspirational book. I read this after my husband left for his first deployment. It actually comforted me because I realized that even though I may only get one email every month and have to wait 3 months before I heard from him at all, it was far better than what military wives went through in the past. This made me appreciate and "wow" over what military wives in the true war era went through as well as making me very thankful for what little communication I did get with my submariner.

Niektore pribehy mi prisli take... no, neviem ako to spravne vyjadrit, proste boli prehnane "americke" - za kazdu cenu zdoraznujuce, aka je Amerika uzasna a najsamlepsia krajina a vsetci obyvatelia krajiny, ak nie celej planety, by mali americku armadu chvalit a velebit za to, aku obetu jej vojaci prinasaju... Kniha ako celok vsak splnila svoj ucel, niektore pribehy mi veru zabrnkali na city a opat potvrdili to, na co neraz verejnost zabuda - ze rodiny a hlavne manzelky, partnerky vojakov su tie, ktore vedu taku svoju vlastnu "vojnu" doma a podobne ako vojaci, prinasaju tiez velke obety...

I thought I would enjoy this a lot more than I did...I tend to enjoy books about soldiers and their families. It's amazing how different each perspective is and each experience. I found this book a little TOO heartwarming...I was always searching for the reality underneath it. Even the stories about finding out your soldier was never coming back home were too "nice" - I always felt like I was searching for the reality.

I love this book! I try to read some here and there. I can't sit down and read more than one story at a time because each one brings me to tears. Heartfelt and understanding tears. These stories were written during a time when communication during deployment meant waiting weeks for letters. I have not experienced that lack of communication except about 4-6 weeks, maybe 2 or 3 times in our marriage. I feel so lucky and blessed.

I adore this book! I've read the stories in it over and over and even purchased a copy to give to a fellow military wife friend of mine. So many of the stories I could relate to, but each touched my heart .. a few even drawing tears. This book makes you appreciate what you have, and certainly gives you the itch to cuddle with your loved ones!

I expected to really cry a lot over this book that so many recommended. I didn't cry at all, I didn't enjoy this book much. I thought some of the stories were silly, not endearing. I don't know, I'm an Army wife but this didn't tug at the heart strings like I thought it would.

As a new army wife going through her first deployment this book has been some what of a reflection. I read this book before my husband's deployment started but I still go back and say wow these other wives had it hard compared to me!

Really not as good as I was hoping. I didn't cry (not even in chapter 8) and I only laughed a few times. I think it was too sugar coated. But unfortunately, I'm happy to say this book is over with. Maybe the next one will hit a little closer to home.

Having been a navy wife I thought it would be a great book to read and it was. Laugh and cried and smiled, I did like it dealt with all wars and all kinds of situations. I had to smile at one story that was nearly my story of how I met my Navy Texan husband!

Some amazing stories to put a military spouse's struggles into perspective. Being a military spouse in this day and age is hard enough, I can't imagine what some of the military wives from past wars had to go through with no internet or sat phones to connect them with their loved ones!

Fabulous book! All the Chicken Soup books are good, but this one really hits home for me. You don't have to be a military wife to appreciate the touching stories.
