I’m thinking. If I kiss her now, there’s no going back. If I take her, she’s mine. I won’t sit back and watch as someone else is chosen for her. Mine. Mine. Mine.
What is going on with the mmcs that are named Niko, are in the mafia, and are also viciously deadly?! Whatever it is, they should keep doing it because they are succeeding. And the Niko in this book! He is addiction on page!
The book hooked my interest right from the beginning! The story was fast-paced and easygoing. There was some very exciting action but the story was mainly based on the sizzling chemistry between the mcs. It should be noted that in the scale between plot and spice, the book is leaning gently on the spice side. It’s not instant-love, but there is an already grown attraction between the mcs. Niko should have thought better before fighting a lost battle. Still, grumpy Niko was just delicious.
Along with Niko, who I am obsessed with, Izabela was a fiery fmc and so fun to read. Izabela is young but due to her heritage, she is far from ignorant. She is strong, opinioned and bloodthirsty while having the ability to bring the world to its knees. I loved however that she retained a soft naivety, deriving from her youth.
It was a fabulous read. I would just have preferred if the book was longer, so we could get a bit more action and the opportunity to witness the mcs relationship more established and grown. Guess I couldn’t get enough!

Talk about a book that meets and exceeds expectations. Talk about a book that hits the sweet spot (and yes, I do mean BOTH kinds of sweet spots, my darlings). Did you think your body was ready for this book? This book will take you to church, my lovelies!
Reminisce for a moment, if you will, and think about the Triad series. Take Scarlet’s go-to, take no prisoners, give-no-effs attitude and stunning looks and mix them with Sebastian’s bloodthirsty tendencies, impulsivity, imperiousness, talent with knives, and (again) stunning good looks. Now combine them into one firecracker full of power, money, and a ton of confidence. That’s how you get Izabela Deluca, the sole heir apparent of the Triad. Like most mafia princesses, she’s had to grow up too fast to ensure she was ready to take over the reins as soon as she became an adult, if needed. Furthermore, she seeks out trouble like a cruise missile and sometimes trouble just comes to find her. Either way, Izabela thinks trouble means a damn good time is coming her way.
Izabela’s most tempting piece of trouble comes in the form of Niko, the Triad’s head of operations. He’s twice her age, won’t give her the time of day, but she can tell he’s not immune to her…charms. She’s wanted him for quite some time, and on the night of her eighteenth birthday she sets out to get Niko. Not too long after that night, Izabela’s assigned a business trip to Ireland to secure a weapons deal. Niko is a native to Ireland, and Izabela finagles a deal to make him the head of her security, sending the two of them alone to the Emerald Isle, even though Niko’s family warned him to never return when he turned his back on the family business.
These two are like feral animals with one another, unable to keep their hands off one another, sinking their teeth and claws into one another, leaving bruises and marks all over each other’s bodies, and I am her for it! Their chemistry is off the charts and I couldn’t love Niko’s pet name for Izabela more if I tried. They’re both so invested in the reputation of the Triad and enmeshed in one another it’s as if they are of one mind sometimes, knowing what the other has said or done without even needing to speak. It’s not love so much as it’s obsession and possession, at least until the very end. For Izabela there is no one but Niko, and for Niko there is not one but her. Both would rather kill an entire room full of people in unspeakable ways than let the other be touched or let themselves be touched by someone other than each other.
The forced proximity. The age gap. The bodyguard trope. The bloodthirsty female willing to kill for her man. The way Izabela submits to Niko and only Niko. The way she was meant to wear a crown and he was meant to stand behind her throne like a watchful sentinel. The way Izabela looks to her mother as both a guiding light and a cautionary tale and looks at her dads as both father and authority figures. The way she knows it’s her responsibility to care for her many younger siblings as well as the Deluca name. Izabela is a powerhouse and only a man as strong as Niko deserves to stand by her side as she prepares to helm the Triad empire.
I hope Dana plans to write more Triad (next generation) books in the future. I don’t care when, or if they come in any sort of order, or if we have to wait. If they’re all as on fire as this one, then I’ll totally wait for the burn.

This is the next generation from the Triads series.

Niko is her Dad's 2nd and has been their loyal and best man for 20 odd years.
So they're both already off limits.
But who can resist a mountain of muscles, all tattooed and has that cocky attitude. Yep he got my attention too.
Soon as Izabel turned 18,she set her eyes on her childhood crush.
Izabel gets what she wants,after all she is her parents daughter.
But Niko is just as strong willed and will fight all along. Getting involved with her was like a suicide mission.
There is lots of drama, action, gore, family dynamics, some backstabbing, banter and my gosh there is sizzling steam. Be ready to burn your panties away haha.
I loved how strong Izabel was, she was already showing signs of true leader and wasn't afraid to walk into the lions den.
Niko was equally hot and strong. He was a possessive alpha and I was all for it. He is definitely the touch her and I will unalive you kind of guy. He actually shows you it to prove he isn't lying.
They were soo good together with all their hot and cold interactions.

Oh, I love them. Like I actually love them.
If you know me, I eat up forbidden romance and this one did not disappoint. 7% in, I wanted them to get caught because I apparently cannot help myself 💀.
Niko (MMC) tried to resist her, he did, but Izabela (FMC) was not having a BAR of it 💀. She was persistent and tbh, it paid off. The two of them together were HOT 🥵 and Niko has a MOUTH on him and when you remember he has an Irish accent, you'll be like 🫠🫠🫠🫠.
This book has a plot guys 🤩. The plot properly kicks in around the 50% mark and I didn't think I would be invested in it but I was. Niko and Izabela are literally just as insane as each other and it was refreshing to read about an FMC that doesn't need to be saved and isn't a damsel in distress. She's a baddie, just like her Mum (who you can read about in the Triad Series (MMFM) Scars - Book 1) 😏.

We follow Izabela and Niko throughout this book. Izabela has had her eye on Niko ever since she was 16 years old. Now that she's 18 years old, there is no stopping her going after Niko. I mean I don't blame her; Niko is DADDY 🥵 His filthy mouth, long hair, tatted body, his possessiveness; I was MELTING. I want Niko to throw me INTO THE DRYWALL. 🤣 Izabela is such a badass FMC, and she doesn't take shit from anybody. Her smart-ass mouth towards Niko, and then Niko just giving it right back to her, was hilarious. I loved this book so much. Dana is always killing it with her books, but this book has made it to my top 3 favorites of Dana's. The writing, the characters, the cover(s), just everything was PERFECT. I can't wait to see what we get for the Triad: Next Generation book.

This was very satisfying to read. While I shy away from age gap romances, Niko was very attractive and the ultimate book boyfriend material. Izabela was sweet and sassy, and their chemistry is crackling! If you enjoy romance books, do try it out.

MS DANA HAS DONE IT AGAIN! I first fell in love with Dana Isaly’s “Into the Dark” and this book, “Cruel Beauty” just keeps my love for this author moving right along.
When we first meet Izabela, she has just turned 18 and she has her sights on the dangerously gorgeous and incredibly off limits, Niko MacCarthy— 20 years her senior. Izabela has been watching him for years and after some intense convincing, Niko gives into his temptress and as much as he tries, he cannot stay away. Izabela doesn’t take “no” for an answer so she decides that Niko is due for a “promotion” within the family and to become her personal body guard… Niko is officially in trouble. She’s too young for him, she’s his boss’ daughter, she’s slightly unhinged in a way that intrigues him, but man is she sexy and at the end of the day age is just a number. Right?
Dana Isaly has a way of sucking you into her dark world one chapter at a time. What I love MOST about “Cruel Beauty” is that it’s the FMC who is taking charge versus the “traditional” MMC mafia stalker trope. Izabela is being groomed to take over the family so she is strong and vicious and takes what, AND WHO, she wants! I mean… YES GIRL POWER! Too often we read about the MMC becoming obsessed with a virginal or inexperienced FMC and takes over her entire life, but that just isn’t present here. Don’t get me wrong — the MMC is intense in his own way, like super jealous and don’t touch her kind of way, but it’s the FMC who is on the prowl. Without giving too much away, she’s a total warrior and will do anything for her enforcer lover — even brutally kill.
WAIT! DID I FORGET TO MENTION NIKO IS IRISH?! Do not threaten me with a good time, Dana. Irish mobsters are my absolute favorite, especially when they’re speaking Gaelic during play time 😉 Spicy scenes start right away and mouth on Niko will make you drool all over yourself. This man is not selfish 👏🏼

okay for starters… i didn’t realize that this book was a spin off from a series until i had completely finished the book🥲 which is FINE because it could definitely be read as a standalone but i’m like… maybe i would have liked it more if i would have read the parents story?🤣
so Izabela is the eldest daughter of a mafia family where there is one mom and three dads to all of the kids😅 which is a very interesting dynamic and is what the original series is about😌 Izabela is super rebellious and has her eyes set on Niko (her parents right-hand man) from the very beginning of the story. the attraction was IMMEDIATELY known from the very first chapter of the book which is fine and all, but personally i just love a good slow burn🤤❤️🔥

First off, we love the dip back into the world of the Triad! We have absolutely missed those boys. Seeing them all as dads really was the best!
Izabela is freshly 18 but she has had to see things that most adults never see. She has had to grow up quickly considering she is set to inherit not only one family business, but two. She is very mature for her age, and that means she has her sites set on a much older man...
Niko immediately gave us Jax Teller mixed with Tommy Shelby and we weren't mad at it! He has been with the Triad for over 20 years, so he has known Izabela her entire life. That definitely doesn't stop him from seeing her as an adult now that she is one!
Iz and Niko have immediate chemistry that we just could not get enough of, and no matter how hard Niko tries to fight it, there is just something pulling him towards Iz. She knows what she wants and she is not afraid to get it!
This book was equal parts dirty and emotional and action packed! We absolutely loved it and can't wait to see where the Triad family will lead us next...possibly with the twins?!

Another steamy, binge-able read by Dana Isaly! If I didn’t have to “adult” and go to work, I would have easily read this in one afternoon. Cruel Beauty is such a fun combination of thrilling action and insane chemistry. You can expect:

🔥 Downright forbidden relationship: age gap, bosses’ daughter, bodyguard
🔥 All the naughty bits we’ve come to expect from Dana- praise, “Daddy”, crawling, and even a bite mark tattoo

I hadn’t read the Triad series before reading this one, so I was worried some things just wouldn’t make sense. But I loved this, and if like me you also didn’t read triad, this is a perfect stand-alone. This book met all the expectations that I had in my head after hearing about this book for the past month. This story was just perfect, from the action all the way to the smut it was just soooo good. Although there was a guy on the front and descriptions in the book, thanks to the dedication, I 1000% pictured Jax from Sons of Anarchy the entire time.

Cruel Beauty is the next generation from the Triad series. In my opinion, you don't need to read the series before to enjoy this book (I haven't but definitely will now), although there is some spoilers but to be honest it only made me more intrigued. It was sexy and devouring, and the MCs were honestly hot as hell, especially Niko...I'm a sucker for an Irish accent 🤤.

3.5/5 stars! I really like this book! It was fast paced and spicy. I do wish there was a little more detail in the beginning. I feel like it rushed into the story of Izabela and Niko so fast that the backstory of the family wasn't really there. Maybe it was a little too fast paced but it was still a good, quick read.

I already fell so hard and in love with Scarlet and her men in the triad series, so when Dana announced that she was doing a next gen book I freaked out. But honestly this one topped her parents to me!
Izabela is a badass, that is the first born that is the heir to the two families. She confident, she is smart and like I said before a badass. She goes after the man that has her attention since 16 and doesn’t care about the age difference.
Niko is loyal, witty, sexy badass. He’s been working for the family for years and didn’t want to ruin it by sleeping with their daughter. But she wouldn’t take no for an answer and he could only deny his feelings and attraction for so long.
When the two of them get together it’s hot as hell, the bickering, the nicknames, the spice! Chefs freaking kiss.

His first order of business as head of security is to accompany her to a meeting in Ireland where she will meet with their arms dealers. But his brother told him if he ever stepped foot back in Ireland he would be killed. To save Izabela he agrees to surrender himself to his brother, but she refuses to leave without him. In her attempt to save him, she ends up being caught. However, after seeing that someone has touched her, he shoots his brother dead after a fit of rage.

Niko knows Izabela is off limits, forbidden, but that doesn’t stop his mind from wandering places it shouldn’t. And when Izabela practically throws herself at him… well a man can only have so much control.
Then Izabela gets Niko moved to her private security… which is a one man team. Traveling across the world has them spending a lot of time together and forming a bond they never saw coming.
Okay first, Niko just straight melts my panties… period.. doesn’t matter what he’s doing. If there’s one thing I can always count on from Dana.. it’s a quick and spicy read! Also… that man’s mouth 😮💨🔥 I loved the amount of boss bitch energy Iz had. You can definitely tell she is the daughter of the Triad and has been heavily trained for her role in their family. I love seeing Iz in action and the few cameos we got from the Triad themselves. I loved the equal amount of protectiveness both Iz and Niko had for each other. They both had all the touch what’s mine and die vibes. This book was fast paced and kept me wanting more!

If you've read the Triad Series, you have the backstory and the importance of Izabela's family. If not, this is a mafia, forbidden, age-gap type of read that will knock your socks off instantly!
After being introduced to the characters quickly, the pages flip into a fast-paced time frame in which you meet Izabela, the oldest child who will inherit the Dulca empire one day and Niko who has worked for the family for 20 years already after leaving Ireland behind. Izabela has turned 18 and after growing up knowing all about her family and being trained from an early age, she has her sights set on much older, Irish, Head of Operations, Niko MacCarthy. Poor Niko knows what would be in store for him being employed by her 3 father's and her powerhouse of a mom, if he ever dared touch Izabela.
Izabela herself is a force to be reckoned with, yet is a vibrant, sometimes psychotic but very focused female in what was once a world run only by men and she makes it known that times have changed and she's in charge and won't let her age stop her. She proves to not only associates but Niko, she is all woman.
Niko is that typical broody, grump of a man who always puts his job first, until he doesn't. He knows the risks and questions his sanity a few times, but he just can't seem to turn his back on his little monster. I will say I was shocked at his lack of will power, he just seemed like it would take SO much more to make him cave!
Reading books by Dana before, I know how quick some books move and so this was an action packed story with sly skills by Izabella, a work trip, a little violence here and there, a grudge holding brother and an awful lot of spicy, steamy, sexy scenes with 2 characters that had undeniably sizzling chemistry and just could not keep their hands to themselves.
Not only was this book scorching, but opened up to the sweeter, softer moments between the two and then you were laughing at how clearly they were both meant to be side by side in the world of betrayal, violence and taking what is theirs. Izabela's humor is top tier comedy btw!
I loved everything about this spin off and this book packs all the heat you need.

I absolutely LOVED the Triad series and this is the start of the next generation!
Izabella Dulca the eldest child of the Triad and sole heir to the Dulca Family Organization has grown up faster than most kids since her Family have been preparing her to inherit both Families one day. Now that Izabella is 18 she has one mission and that is to finally get Niko the head of the Family’s Operations to give in to the mutual attraction she knows they both feel. Only problem is Niko is twice her age and he’s not looking to get murdered by her Fathers for sleeping with their daughter. Izabella has a plan though and that’s to get Niko to be her personal bodyguard. Once he’s been promoted she can really make her move. Except a business trip to Niko’s home country is on the horizon and there is surely trouble coming their way once his Family discovers he’s in Ireland.
Will they survive long enough to actually get back home and see what is really between them? Or will Niko’s Family end them before they can begin?
LOVED this book y’all!! The feistiness that we saw in Scarlett definitely carried over to her daughter plus the fact that Seb is her Dad? YEAH beautifully psychotic is a good way to describe Iz and Niko is totally HERE for it. This book was freaking HOT 🔥🔥🔥🔥 If you’re a fan of the Triad Series then you have GOT to check this out!! You will not be disappointed! I can’t wait to see what else is to come for the rest of the kids!

Niko has worked for Izabela’s family for years. He earned his way up the ranks to become head of security for Izabela’s family business. Izabela has always had her eyes on Niko. She’s a tough, bada$$ FMC that takes what she wants, when she wants it. And when she decided to go for Niko, there wasn’t much he could do to stop her. Niko did everything he could to resist Iz. He knew he shouldn’t want her as bad as he did. With a little persistence from Izabela and a moment of weakness for Niko, that was it. Their fate was sealed and they knew they would never try to resist each other again. And also, Niko’s mouth?? Good GOD 🫠🔥
The mix of plot and spice was nicely done too. I was invested in the story and I loved how it ended. We get to see a little bit of Izabela’s family from The Triad series throughout the story too. I love the connection between that series and this spin-off. Overall, this book was HOT and I loved the plot as well. So I pleasantly enjoyed this. One huge fear I had going into this book it would the relationship seems weird since he has know her her entire life, but thankfully it was not weird. It was cute seeing him give in to her desires and realize he feels the same way.
First we will go into the things I liked, obviously I mentioned I found it cute seeing him fall for her. Izabela is very determined to get what she wants which is a good quality. The spice is great, honestly I feel like there could have been more though but when I’m doubt I just love smut lol. The setting was great. It mostly takes place in Ireland which is a setting you don’t see too often. I also liked how the Mafia (Technically it’s not the Mafia but idk what to call it besides that) aspects were present but not too overpowering. Nico and his backstory was interesting and it showed how he got into this life and how it has shaped him into the person he is now.
I only have one negative thing to say is the characters felt like the didn’t have a proper personality outside of their jobs/responsibilities and their relationship. I wanted a bit more of Izabela being a badass and independent and Nico being sweet yet stern.
Overall their personalities did fall a bit flat to me, but I still really enjoyed the book and was able to put that to the side at points because the chemistry between the two of them was well done.
It also was very easy to read, the writing style of Dana Isaly is simplistic but detailed. Which is something I enjoy. I will always enjoy anything Dana Isaly writes, not matter what it is I will read it.
