Clarissa Blackwater, a lion shifter and Remy Silversbane, a vampire second in command to the Master Vampire of Detroit, were two people that should have never crossed paths. But when both their worlds collided, they soon found each other embroiled in a conflict greater than either of them could have the search for an ancient artifact, the Sword of Truth.
The rumors said the Sword was powerful enough to heal any injury - even make its bearer impossible to kill - and for that reason many people are looking for it.
After the lions’ beloved Prince Aamandu was grievously injured, Remy and Clarissa took on finding the Sword. It seemed simple enough at first... until the mad vampire king, Raphael, became involved. The stakes suddenly became higher than ever before, and no one was sure who would come out alive.
Remy and Clarissa faced danger at every turn as they worked together to find the artifact, but something unexpected emerged along the a spark between them that could not be denied. During the search, the two would find love in the oddest of places and a strength neither knew they possessed. Who knows what awaits them in the end?
I can't even begin to express how much I loved this novel! Shadow's Pride by Danni Williams is an action-packed paranormal romance that had me hooked from start to finish.
Clarissa is such a fantastic lead character - she's witty, strong, and seriously smart. But what I loved most is how Williams allows her to feel so real and relatable, even as she makes mistakes and has to take accountability. She's just so darn compelling!
And then there's Remy, the deliciously spicy love interest who brings the heat in all the right ways. Williams leaves nothing to the imagination as she describes every fang and claw in the intimate scenes, painting a vividly steamy picture that had me fanning myself. The woman knows how to write some magically creative spicy encounters, that's for sure!
But it's not just romance and steam - the overall plot is rock-solid too. Clarissa and Remy's high-stakes adventure to hunt down an antidote and save the king is thrilling, fast-paced, and easy to follow. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time!
Wow her father was a piece of work and so was that man. They knew good and well that she had the best backing her. I just have to know what the father went through, I hope it was long and painful.
