I am a huge fan of paranormal romance books. So, when this one crossed my path, I had to read it! This book is the first of two. If you are on the fence at the end, I encourage you to buy the second book. It makes all the difference.
The story begins with our girl, Phoebe, getting attacked by a warewolf while on vacation with her two friends in London. She is not turned by the bite, but they cut their vacation short and head back to their little town in California. She gets attacked by a shark while surfing and is rescued by Marcus.
Her warewolf, Damen, has followed her home and Marcus wants to kill him. Why? Because he killed Phoebe in a previous life.
Confused? So are they. Apparently Phoebe is the reincarnation of a previous princess vampire. She looks like her and she has her memories too. It is actually a great storyline. Our girl is a complete train wreck and is constantly getting injured. Marcus spends a lot of time rescuing her from herself. She falls in love again with Marcus, but Damen is proving to be a problem. Also, most men are crazy about her. I don't want to give the story away, it really is quite good, and gets even better in the second book. My only problems with this first book are that the sex scenes in the book, especially the first two, are so underwhelming I read the book twice to see if I missed something. And then there is an strange attempt at contraception that just does not work at all. Personally, this book could use a bit of editing to rework a few scenes, and it would be brilliant. It really is a great storyline and I found myself buying the second part within seconds of finishing the book. It is a unique book that is worth the few missteps for sure.

I am always the sucker for a great paranormal romance with vampires and werewolves. Nicole surprised me with her fantastic story telling and had me screaming at the stupid choices Phoebe would make even if I could understand why she made them. And yes there were several chapters that had me in tears and some that had me laughing or smiling ear to ear. That is what reading it all about. If a book can move me like that I definitely will be reading on and even coming back to re-read this book several times over.

There were so many new elements that Nicole brought to the vampire / werewolf world that I really enjoyed the story so much more. He ability to build each page so that you find yourself turning to the next was fantastic. While it took me a while to finish the book don’t let this be deceiving. I was already in the middle of another book and after reading the first chapter of this one I knew it needed its own time with me. So in reality it was a 3 day read.

I highly recommend this read to anyone who love paranormal romance with vampires and werewolves! This is currently free as an Amazon promotion so check it out!

I love books about vampires and this book was a good addition to the genre. Nicole Grane added some twists to the story that I really enjoyed, and that I had not come across in any other vampire/werewolf books I had read before. Without giving away any of the twists, I will say that if you are a big fan of vampire/werewolf books I would definitely recommend this book to you. I thought the two major romantic characters, Marcus and Phoebe were appealing. To see how “past memories” helped their relationship grow was quite interesting. Good points for me: Phoebe, luckily or unluckily, had three ‘men’ very attracted in her, which created some unusual situations! Phoebe also had a very different horse with out of the ordinary powers--something I had never come across before that was quite interesting to me. Not so good points for me: I was hoping the book had gone faster through their early romance in England and through the middle of the book, and I also wished that Phoebe, as a character, would have been more sure of herself earlier in the story. I am really looking forward to the second book in this series and hope it comes out soon—it should be interesting! I love this quote in the book, “Daylight doesn’t always mean safety…”

Marcus is a vampire who was her former love and becomes her current one. His love for her has sustained him through lifetimes. Damen is werewolf and killed Phoebe in her previous life. He too still loves her.

Phoebe is scratched and bitten by Damen. She now has to not only control that part of her life that is a wolf but accept that Marcus was her true love and is a vampire and that in her past life she too was a vampire.

There will be fighting for her and Marcus will do whatever it takes to keep her alive even if he too has to bite her.

3.25 stars. This was my first read of the year.
I liked the premise of past lives intertwined with vampires and werewolves. However, I felt the story developed very quickly and I would have like to read more about Phoebe's past life with Marcus, like a chapter or two not just the little glimpses that appeared alongside the plot as dreams/memories .

Anyway, it was an entertaining story and Marcus was the book's best character.

Immortal wounds will make you laugh and cry all at the same time. I loved this book and I still love it. I have read this book more times then my age. Its worth reading.

Free download. OMG I freaking loved this book, I cannot wait for the sequel. This vampire story has different concepts, in reference to other books I have read but most have similar traits. Vampires fighting Werewolves, Whose team would you choose? This does not take away however, that I loved this story. The backstory, the plot, a great new idea regarding Phoebe, Marcus and even Damen. The thought of a past life, being reborn and finding the world you used to know was great. I loved Phoebe and Marcus, and their love story is transcendent, a beautiful concept which is a definite for any supernatural lovers. It has a lot if new ideas about vampires as well as some of the old. I was gripped from the off as this story starts with bite and doesn't slow down. I would highly recommend to anyone who love this genre.

Ok so I have mixed feelings about the book. I loved / hated the characters. The storyline has potential and alot of twists and turns (good). The most was the past life story which I liked.

I liked the heroine and thought she was awesome. Her independence brought out the cheering section but her clumsiness brought out the hysterics. I liked it was humorous and serious.

Overall the story made me want to keep going and back out at the same time. I was a little upset about history repeating itself and how Marcus just wouldn't listen. Basically the communication between them was seriously lacking. I felt very torn about that.

However I liked the concept and was glad that I read it.

It's exciting, the characters are well drawn, and the addition of Phoebe's reincarnation adds a distinctly different twist to the genre. If you enjoyed the honeymoon scenes in Breaking Dawn, you will enjoy Immortal Wounds. Well written debut novel.

I got this as a free download. What a pleasant surprise. I thought it was fab. Found the whole men being drawn to the heroin a bit much and Marcus needs to grow a pair in some of it and stop acting like a love sick sop. The story was great with lots of action. I bought the next one straight after.
