In Edinburgh a detective listens to a confession; in Orkney an old man lives with the ghosts of his past. In the Outer Hebrides some travellers learn a lesson; in Glasgow a young woman steals a meeting with a famous actor; and in a small town somewhere a pigeon dies. These stories are as richly varied as the land of Scotland itself.
Bookworms World Stories collect stories written in English from around the world. This volume has stories by Scottish writers Eona Macnicol, Malcolm Laing, Ian Rankin, George Mackay Brown, and Susie Maguire.

The cat was a lost cat and I named the cat "Haru" and kept as my pet for about 3years. Haru died because of disease, but that was so sad for me. I was disappointed for many days.
5. This book is about kindness of people. Each story in this book is not so long, but actually it was difficult for me to understand clearly. However I liked the first story because I could understand the man's feeling. Also from this book, I could think about what kindness is.

Really nice collection. I was quite glad to see it was short when I picked it up, but when I was done with it, I just desperately wanted more! I particularely liked The Pigeon by Eona MacNicol and Andrina by George MacKay Brown and am quite excited to go read those authors other works. Hopefully, the library will have them too.
I had to read this book in school so I was kindda reading and analyzing this book to details. I can't say I didn't like the book, 'cause there was parts I loved(such as Andrina) and parts I hated (like The Pigeon) But anyway the good part was dominant so 3 stars
