Heinrich Christian Wilhelm Busch was an influential German caricaturist, painter, and poet who is famed for his satirical picture stories with rhymed texts.

After initially studying mechanical engineering and then art in Düsseldorf, Antwerp, and Munich, he turned to drawing caricatures. One of his first picture stories, Max and Moritz (published in 1865), was an immediate success and has achieved the status of a popular classic and perennial bestseller.

Als Kind musste meine Mama mir unzählige Male die Geschichten von Wilhelm Busch vorlesen. Neben den schönen Reimen gibt es auch kleine Illustrationen. Hängen geblieben ist leider neben Max und Moritz nichts.
Fipps, der Affe ist eine klassische Wilhelm Busch Geschichte. Überrascht hat mich wie grausam/unüblich die Geschichte endet, das habe ich ein wenig verdrängt. Vielleicht bin ich deswegen ein Freund von solchen Enden, da ich so früh von diesen geprägt wurde 😅
