Capitol Angst
Capitol Angst- America’s caught up in a a horrific murder, chaos, and rampant corruption at the highest levels, mixed in with our politicians, create CAPITOL ANGST. After a surprise attack occurs in Congress, a murderer taking out one congressman a week for a month, D.C. With multiple murderers’ blamed, they all come to the conclusion that this fits the terrorism criteria. Soon, D.C. becomes the most dangerous place to be in the United States, if you’re an elected official, that is. After a couple of near death experiences, the group has more questions than answers. Maybe the question should be, who in an elected position, would benefit from these murders? After uncovering a diabolical plot that encompasses more than just the United States, Kat and her cohorts are appalled. This can’t be happening. I enjoyed this political thriller very much. It is full of action, mystery, intrigue and conspiracy.
I am not a very political person: largely because my respect for the political system has completely eroded. But this book did make me think about how much we take for granted, how easily we really are led by people who are promoted cleverly: how easily our freedom could be swept away without a protest: a peaceful succession to anarchy.
The majority of us would not realize what had happened until it was too late, because we do not want to believe it could happen in North America. The people in power would all deny it and label any protestor as a nutjob; a conspiracy theorist.
A thought provoking idea.
The characters in this book were well rounded and believable for me. The plot kept me turning the page from beginning to end.
I am looking forward to reading the next book. I am hoping that “the people” will wake up and fight for what every one wants to keep: FREEDOM.

Capitol Angst D.C. White
A seemingly random killer is stalking the streets of Washington DC, with seemingly no pattern or motive. It is up to Kat Thomas, head of the homicide department, and her team of detectives and investigators, to find out who the murderer is. It doesn’t take too many before the entire populace is up in arms. Kat is having problems of her own, particularly with the attentions of one of her co-investigators. The body count rises until they finally break the case that has had all of DC in a frightening stranglehold.
“Capitol Angst” was my first foray into political suspense. The research that went into writing this book was very thorough, and the dialogue was really well-written. Writing a novel in the present tense is not easy, but the effect is outstanding. It makes the storyline that much more frantic and gritty, which is what I think the author was trying to achieve. That being said, however, I felt there wasn’t enough segue between scenes; the book was 90% dialogue, and rarely did the scenario switch without warning. This would be a real five-star book if more detail was given throughout.
