Let me start out by saying that sometimes an author hits a little too close to home. This happened here for me. So take some of the things I say with a grain of salt, because some things that bothered me won't apply to you. I didn't quite know how to word this, so I'll just do it like I always do and be honest.
I love Sophie Oak, and how her characters come to life for me in such a short period of time. Dante rocked my world in Bound. Loved what he added to the tale. His humor, his attitude, and his gadgets.
Kaja is Dante's wife by chance. In trying to find a wife who will be completely unsuitable, he finds Kaja dirty and growling in the pens at the marketplace.
Kaja's only experience with sex was forced, by a group of men. She fought them, but in the end held still until it was over. This did happen off scene, but the flashbacks and tidbits of information, whether Ms. Oak intended to or not, were the most realistic way to bring the even into focus for me. For someone who was a victim at one point, this is exactly how many of these images come back to you, no matter how hard you try to block them. Because Kaja is so wild, she doesn't try to block, and her reactions are honest and real, and many times heartbreaking. She doesn't know how things are supposed to be, or how she should be treated. It's so easy for her to believe the bad.
Many parts of her story just kicked me in the chest. Which again, shows just how well the character came to life for me in this book.
Now on to the happy, before I bum everybody out.
The sex toys are both terrifying and awesome. Dunno if I can bet happy about the figging plug, but hot Damn do I want to own the 'Jennifer'. You will want to read this for the sex toys alone.
We also get to meet the alternate Meg, and touch on some of our former Sophie Oak loves, and how they exist on this alternate plane. Sophie Oak books are like one giant interlinked world, and I love finding little inside bits of humor, and common story threads. It's like a giant "Where's Waldo" of Smut. Fabulous.
While I don't know if I will re-read this book for a little while, because it did trigger for me, I will definitely say that I was taken on a journey, and I saw many elements of what I expect from Sophie's books. Humor, steam, BDSM, and strong women. Bring on the next Ms. Oak. I will be there for the next journey you take us on.

Have to be honest, I loved Dante as a secondary character, he was fun and irresponsible and a bit of a reprobate, and proud of it! Hence I thought I could not take him as hero in his own book.
However, I need not have worried. Dante was a great hero. He grew so much in this book, and while the same lovable rogue we know and love, he became so much more, and realised himself how much more he could be.
Kaja, I hate to say it, as she has a horrible back story, I actually struggled with. I know why she was written as she was, but for me, she was just to unknowing about the world around her, and how she reacted to things, and Dante, that I, while hating myself for it, actually found myself being a little impatient with her to start.
But, she soon came into her own, and I loved her by the end.
If nothing else, again we had a truly original story with truly original characters, or at least an original take on an overdone genre (Vampires and werewolves!)
Not only that, we get to meet some familiar characters, or at least, this realms version of those characters, which added a fun element, and thankfully, they pretty much were true to what we know of "them" or at least the other "them". Which I was thankful for.
Again, a fun refreshing, exciting story, and the overall story arc from book one moved on nicely, while not detracting from the story of Kaja and Dante.

3.5 - 4 star ... Total Steamy Escapism
This was just what the smut doctor ordered! Thirty year old Royal vampire seeks consort to get his father off his back to return to his playboy manwhore ways. Enter exiled werewolf female. The potential for reader eye-rolling moments were present, BUT the Royal Vamp is not good enough for our heroine, AND she acknowledges she deserves better, AND has better plans. Throw in alternate realms (vampire, werewolf, faery, and Earth), a villain with evil minions about to stage a coup, and super smexy scenes - light BDSM, toys, dirty talk, different types of play (ear holes excluded...in joke from book).
The world-building was decent enough to please me. The hero grows. The author pulled off a strong heroine despite her doubtful beginnings. The on-going story arc from Bound (#1) develops smoothly. The secondary characters ((((---->Roan<----))) show mucho potential for stories beyond #3 (Bronwyn's story). Overall, I was very happy with romance, humor, sexy times, and characters. I'll definitely read Beauty (#3) and keep my fingers crossed for more books in this series.

What an odd book that wanted to be a little bit of everything. I've never read Lexi Blake's popular dom/sub series, but she had published this vampire paranormal romance under a pseudonym, Sophie Oak. Beast has been on my TBR since last year. I think I purchased it randomly after seeing it on lists or shelves adjacent to my love of vampires at the time.
The thing about vampire romance is that too many of them fall under the Sookie Stackhouse model and while that may have been refreshing at the time, give me some angst and suspense! I'll skip the emo introspection, though.
What I enjoyed most about Beast has to be the heroine, abused werewolf literally rejected from her pack after the pack leader's son is done with sexually assaulting her. Her POV is a little stilted, reserved. She has had a traumatic life, so when she is paired with Dante, a vampire playboy, I enjoyed their initial chemistry.
Now. This is where things get confusing (for me). There were lots of things happening. There are different magic planes. On the vampire plane, consorts can be won in tourneys (?) and the vampire plane is similar to the earth plane, but different. So we have Dante on the Bachelor, working on a sunscreen campaign project at a corporate job... while at the same time, we have political maneuvers happening around bringing down Dante's vampire family from ruling this plane. I don't know if it all gelled together for me because I was hoping for something emotionally deep. Which, I felt, I was given at times. But then it would get lighthearted. The way Dante talks about how horny he is is... sorta funny but just feels too prepubescent for me. You see, I'm definitely in a high fantasy/grandiose mood right now. I did enjoy the scene when the OW tries to make the heroine jealous and the heroine has no fs to give.
Beast reminds me of that rare book where the story isn't that great but for some reason, the characters are good enough for you to keep going. In my case, I haven't read a lot of romances where, if the plot truly sucks, I have the willpower to keep going. I'm not talking about a mediocre, uninspired, or predictable plot. I'm talking about one where you feel like the pieces aren't fitting together. I hate to say it but it's not giving what it's meant to give. Usually, the characterization doesn't grab you, either. But I liked the characters enough. I skimmed to the end about 70%. Probably won't finish this series.

I had a great time from start to finish, fast-paced story with its original planes or ‘worlds’. I loved the H/h and their romance, although the love scenes were not as good as in the first book. This series are stand alone as to the romances, but the interesting political conflict continues through the series. I'm hooked, now on to the next.

When his father casts him out of the family company until he mates, he decides to get back at him by mating an undesirable consort, only to find out she’s perfect for him.

Another great book by Sophie Oak (and also a great continuation of the series)! So, when I read the first book and met Dante's character I have to admit that my first thought wasn't "I have to see a book with Dante". I thought he was a great guy and loved his contributions to the story in the first book but wasn't really feeling him as a lead character at the time. Now, I'm so glad Sophie gave Dante his own book!
Kaja is a werewolf. She wasn't treated very well by her pack and was on her own when a demon found her and kidnapped her, taking her to another plain to be sold as a consort. Kaja is a pretty cool woman who has been through a lot but wasn't broken. When she's taken prisoner she doesn't understand what's going on and fights to try to get free. Everyone thinks she's feral and stupid and since she doesn't understand anyone and they can't understand her, no one realizes she's not dumb until Dante shows up.
Dante is the son of the leader of the Dellacourt Corporation on the Vampire plane of existence. He does some work but tends to be more interested in his playboy ways. The only thing he's truly passionate about is trying to help his cousins, Beck and Cian get their rightful throne(s) of the Seelie lands. Since the fight hasn't truly started on that front yet, Dante finds himself drifting and causing embarrassment to his family with his escapades. After a particularly bad embarrassment, Dante's father tells him to find a consort to marry or get disowned. Dante's not thrilled about this edict from his father and makes a plan to get around it...fortunately some of the best laid plans go awry.
Dante decides (with a little help) that the best way to follow his father's edict while inconveniencing himself as little as possible is to find a consort that will be completely unsuitable to his family. Then, he'll be allowed to send her to another house, still being his "wife" but with Dante not having to see her and being able to go on with his life as normal. As luck would have it, his cousins, Beck and Cian are visiting the Vampire plane and happen to get called to the market that sells consorts about an issue with a wild consort. Dante accompanies them and finds Kaja acting wild, trying to escape and attacking anyone that comes near her. When Dante realizes she's smart but just can't understand, he attempts to put a translator chip on her but they end up tussling and he surprises her (and everyone, even himself) when his more primal level is brought up and he bests her. Once he shows her he's the boss, Kaja settles down and follows his orders. Dante, thinking that a little feral consort like Kaja would perfect for his plans, buys her. Kaja is attracted to Dante and feels safe with him. When he tells her that she's now his, his mate, she's happy about this since she's never had anyone care about her in her life. She's less happy when Dante explains his plans to give her her freedom after his parents are appeased by him marrying her. She doesn't have much choice though, since he bought her. She feels it would be better to run away from Dante, knowing that he could hurt her emotionally if she stays. Fortunately, they run in to certain issues that keep them busy and Kaja finds she cares too much for Dante to leave him even though it would be the smart thing to do. Dante finds that the longer he spends with Kaja, the more he cares about her. Before he was with women just because he wanted sex and now he's with Kaja because he wants Kaja. It's unsettling to Dante and he tries to fight it, but at one point when Kaja is in danger, Dante almost dies trying to save her and he realizes he loves her, deciding that there's no way he's letting her leave his life.
Dante and Kaja go back to the Vampire plane and Kaja meets Dante's family. She's sweet and nice and so they love her. Unfortunately, Kaja has a lot to adapt to in this world of technology and she isn't settling in well. It doesn't help that now Dante is back, his family have put him back in charge of a their biggest new product, sunscreen (LMAO). Dante feels he has to do good work because he has a consort to provide for but he's spending so much time working, he doesn't get to spend as much time as he should with Kaja. His family all see his more serious attitude and are impressed but know he's still not completely happy. Dante tries to settle in to the work, it's what he's been raised for, but he can't help but feel he'd prefer to be away from his home and go somewhere that he can do some good and where Kaja will be more comfortable. Kaja tries hard to adapt to her new life but things aren't helped when she gets scared and changes in to a wolf in front of the press of the Vampire plane. It blows up in to a huge news story because werewolves are from an unknown plane and aren't known of in this world. When another vampire that's been causing them trouble (trying to support the usurper King or the Seelie throne and get rid of Beck and Cian for him) kidnaps Kaja, Dante becomes a force to be reckoned with, getting a rescue going and taking the lead in getting in to save Kaja. Dante really grows up in this book, realizing his true potential and what he really wants. Dante saves Kaja (but she does kick some ass as well) but bad news comes that sends Beck and Cian (and Meg) on the run. Dante and Kaja decide to go with them, preferring to help them win back their throne(s) than staying safely on the Vampire plane. Things end with the battle for the Seelie throne still being waged but Dante and Kaja strongly together and starting their HEA together.
I really loved this story. Dante grew up so much in this story and he turns in to a really great guy. I loved Kaja, she's been through so much and knew it would be easier on her to leave Dante but instead took the harder way, staying and trying to make things work with Dante. I was so happy when he stopped fighting his feelings and Kaja's efforts paid off. They make a wonderful couple and I loved their story. I can't wait to read book #3! This book is definitely worth reading, I'd recommend it. 2 thumbs up (for both book and series).
One of my favorite quotes from this book (from Dante to Kaja):
"I don’t know what marriages are like on your plane. I know Fae marriages can be all about respect and treating your wife like a lady. That’s crap, love. You’re my wife. I’m going to do all sorts of filthy things to you because you belong to me. You’re my little toy. I’m going to fuck you as often as I can and in as many ways as my filthy mind can come up with. That’s a strong marriage.”
BTW...on the series: Overall this series is fun and very interesting, with a good amount of action while still having a touching romance. It's so different from most of Sophie's book because it takes place on alternate planes of reality but core of the stories is still the great work that Sophie always gives us. I'm really loving the series. I love how Sophie brought in the "Alternate planes" versions of many characters and places from her other 2 series, the Bliss and Sirens series. It's just so fun seeing these "crossovers". I think they'll give people that have already read those series a laugh but I don't think you need to read those others series to read this one. It would just give you more of a laugh finding the crossovers of characters from Oak's "normal" series on the Faery plane. :)

Things end with the battle for the Seelie throne still being waged but Dante and Kaja strongly together and starting their HEA together.
I really loved this story. Dante grew up so much in this story and he turns in to a really great guy. I loved Kaja, she's been through so much and knew it would be easier on her to leave Dante but instead took the harder way, staying and trying to make things work with Dante. I was so happy when he stopped fighting his feelings and Kaja's efforts paid off. They make a wonderful couple and I loved their story. I can't wait to read book #3! This book is definitely worth reading, I'd recommend it. 2 thumbs up (for both book and series).
One of my favorite quotes from this book (from Dante to Kaja):
"I don’t know what marriages are like on your plane. I know Fae marriages can be all about respect and treating your wife like a lady. That’s crap, love. You’re my wife. I’m going to do all sorts of filthy things to you because you belong to me. You’re my little toy. I’m going to fuck you as often as I can and in as many ways as my filthy mind can come up with. That’s a strong marriage.”
BTW...on the series: Overall this series is fun and very interesting, with a good amount of action while still having a touching romance. It's so different from most of Sophie's book because it takes place on alternate planes of reality but core of the stories is still the great work that Sophie always gives us. I'm really loving the series. I love how Sophie brought in the "Alternate planes" versions of many characters and places from her other 2 series, the Bliss and Sirens series. It's just so fun seeing these "crossovers". I think they'll give people that have already read those series a laugh but I don't think you need to read those others series to read this one. It would just give you more of a laugh finding the crossovers of characters from Oak's "normal" series on the Faery plane. :)

3 Underwhelmed Stars
Vampire royal Dante has a massive reputation as a player. Seen by most as only being interested in fun, women and good times, he is faced with finding a wife or being disinherited. Wolf shifter Kaja Dellacourt has endured bad treatment throughout her life, now she finds herself banished by her cruel and callous pack. Going to a new plane she finds her life taking an unexpected turn when she is bought by Dante.
I did a little bounce in my seat when I read the blurb of this but it's not a book that had me sinking into my sofa.
I could have done without reading about Dante getting a BJ from a hook-up (occurs before he meets the heroine Kaja), the scene felt unnecessary.

I have to admit that as much as I loved Beck and Cian in Bound: A Faery Story, Dante was the one who stole my heart. From the moment Sophie finished Bound, I was asking her when she was going to write Dante's story.
Little did I know that she planned to turn Dante into a Dom. And what a Dom he is. He's loving and firm and sexy as ever. Just yummy.
What I didn't expect was to also adore Kaja, the woman/werewolf who claims Dante's heart. I'm not sure I've ever read a character like Kaja before. She's naive and eager to please, and happy just to be loved for the first time in her life. There are times that her story will break your heart.
And we get a taste of Beck, Cian, and Meg, and their continuing troubles with their murderous Uncle Torin.
This story will leave you in tears...and hopefully begging Sophie to write the last story in the trilogy.
Maybe if we all ask nicely, she'll start on it soon :)

Vampire Dante has a well earned reputation as a playboy but his latest scandal is one two many and his family are threatening to disown him if he doesn't clean up his act and settle down. It's the last thing he wants so he makes it his mission to find a wife that his family would disapprove of so that they won't mind when he quietly sets her aside. Kaja is a werewolf who has been exiled from her home, alone and in a strange new realm where she doesn't understand any of the rules she feels completely out of place until she meets Dante. She feels an immediate connection to him but she is wary of letting him get too close and ending up with her heart broken, especially when she feels so out of place in his home. Dante may have gone into this relationship expecting it to fail but the more time he spends with Kaja the stronger his feelings become, now he just has to convince her that they could have a happy life together.
I loved Dante in the first book so I was really excited that we were getting his story next. He was such a fun guy who brought so much humour to the story that I was sure I was going to love him so it surprised me when I didn't warm to him immediately. I really struggled with the way he initially treated Kaja, yes I could understand that he didn't want a long term relationship and that he felt pushed into marriage by his family, but he chose to court her and knowing her history and the abuse she had suffered he was still willing to use her for his own gain. He came extremely close to crossing unforgivable lines for me but I should have known that I can trust Lexi Blake and he managed to turn things around just in time. Once we got the Dante I remembered from the first book back I was so happy to see him and Kaja making a go of things.
Kaja was a really interesting character, she'd come from a totally different world, one that was much more brutal and unforgiving than we're used to so her way of looking at things could be very odd at times. She was really sweet though and desperately wanted to fit in with Dante's friends and family, she just wanted safety and a place to call home really so I was pleased that everyone was so willing to welcome her and I especially liked the friendship between her and Meg. The chemistry between Kaja and Dante was great from the beginning but it was once I started to feel the emotional connection between them that I really started to root for them as a couple.
Alongside the romance we also find out a lot more about Beck and Cian's family and the war that their uncle started when he killed their parents and claimed their throne for himself. Things are really building to a head on that front and revelations at the end of this book were jaw dropping. I'm definitely excited for the final book in the series and I'm glad it's already been published so that I can dive straight in!

The book was funny - Lexi Blake books are always funny - but the romance was definitely weak. I didn't mind seeing hero Dante get a blowjob from an OW before he met the heroine, but I really objected to how Kaja demonstrated no jealousy whatsoever when she later came face to face with the OW.
I also felt like the insta-love between Kaja and Dante left way too many questions unanswered. It was treated like a panacea for all the issues in their relationship e.g. his ulterior motives in marrying her, her desire to run free...
In essence, I wanted to like this book a lot more than I actually do.

I love Dante. I knew there was a great man under all the joking, lackadaisical, playboy personality. We already knew he had a good heart by his actions in the first book. I'm glad he was able to find the perfect match for it. And I loved how finding Kaja both completed him as well as showed her her own self worth. I was so sad for her just reading the prologue! What horrible people! I got a little bit tired of Dante's internal berating, always assuming people were doing things because they didn't believe in him. But I loved how his sister saw right through him to who he really wanted to be, who he could be, when he was trying to be what he thought they wanted him to be. I loved the epilogue and I can't wait to see the Unseelie symbiotic twins find their bondmate and come into their powers. And I can't wait to see Cian and Beckett's reaction to their choice.

I hate to admit it, but I was rather disappointed in this one. As much as I love Sophie Oak, and she is an amazing storyteller, this one seemed to be just a "bridge" story to get us to the next one. It lost is "fae" charm the first book held for me. I felt no emotional attachment to Dante, and Kaja was so innocent, at times, Dante's sexual attention bordered on creepy. I found myself skimming most of the book once they were on the Vampire plane just so I could find out what happens with Beck, Ci, and Meg. And even though I didn't "feel" this one, I am looking forward to the next one, it sounds like we will be returning to the "faery story" I became attached to.

I really liked book #1, and so had high hopes for this story. Set in the same universe(s), this story continues the struggles between two sets of paranormal creatures. One supposedly less evil than the other.
Our new H/h pair go through the same issues of learning about the different realms and how they interact. And while the lust was strong, the actual characters were not. Dante was really a pain, and his transformation was slow and didn't really ring true for me. He left Kaja alone and unsupported much too often.

ok i loved the Dante in Bound by the one in Beast oh so much more. (he is kinda a cross between Sam Fleetwood and Stephen Talbot) he was so funny but when he unleashed his alpha male well lets just say YUMMY!! so can not wait for the next story...and i knew it!! that is all i have to say on that!! Loved it and loved meeting the "others" who were more then then their earth plane counter points....and of course my favorite was there!!!!

Werewolf Kaja is abducted and to be sold at the consort market, but she´s too feral and the owners want to put her down. Vampire Dante has been given an ultimatum from his father, marry or be thrown out of the family company. What´s better to scare his father with than a feral woman, not suited for better company? At the same time, Megan, Cian and Finn are being targeted by mercenaries. Longing for the third book (it better be a third one =D ) with the cousin Bronwyn and her destiny.

Oh! Dante’s story was a good one.
After doing a reality show and made to look like a total tool, Dante’s father threatened to cut him off if he didn’t get his life together and find a wife.
So, like the man child that he is, he decided to find a wife that was completely inappropriate, that his family would hate, so he could keep his place in the company. He’s marry her, have her embarrass the family, then send her off to live somewhere else while he returned to his playboy life.
What he didn’t expect was to find Kaja. A wolf shifter who’d been mistreated all her life and thrown out of her pack to die on her own. She was taken by a planewalker and sent to the market to be a consort.
Dante found her savage and perfect for his plans. Then she shifted to a wolf.
Then she fascinated him.
Then she burrowed her way into his heart and Dante would never be the same again.
I loved this book!
Dante’s evolution from selfish, but sweet, playboy to a hot af man was entertaining. I loved that Cian, Beck and Meg were also a large part of the story.
They are all closer to the twins achieving their rightful place. I cannot wait. And the epilogue - OMG! I can’t wait for the reunion that I hope is as emotionally wonderful as I imagine it to be.

This story has well developed characters and the storyline is intriguing and captivating. It kept me glued to my kindle wanting to know what happened!! Dante is a smarta$$, sweet and caring and this author made me fall in love with all of his facets. I can’t wait for the next installment of this series!!

Okay, so maybe Dante doesn’t inspire fear as much as sexual lust. However, few people make the mistake of disrespecting this vampire royal.
We initially met Dante in author Sophie Oak’s first foray into the paranormal genre with Bound. Dante was essential in the rescue of his cousin’s, the Seelie King's, bond mate, Meg. He impressed me then with his strength of loyalty and character. It’s that character that is a central theme in Beast.
Dante has always been the underestimated playboy. So much so, he too believes his “job” in the family empire is to party and look pretty…until he met Kaja. A werewolf cast out from her home, Kaja was merely trying to survive when she was captured and sold to the gnomes for their tournament auction. Kaja has been more animal (beast if you will) than human for so long she has trouble acclimating into a world where she’s expected to wear clothes and bathe regularly.
Dante is in the position of needing a consort, also known as a wife or bond mate. Kaja glows as no other consort Dante has ever met, even Meg. These two mismatched and misunderstood souls will fight each other and anyone who threatens their mate for the chance to be together.
I became so immersed in Ms. Oak’s world building with Bound I didn’t see how she could top herself. Honestly, I was willing to settle for simply enjoying Beast as a follow-up to Meg, Cian and Beck’s story. It was that and so much more.
Dante has perfected the cocky, self-assured, bad-boy fun persona. It’s who he is but at the same time it isn’t. It takes provoking his inner beast to prove dominance over his mate and protect the woman he grows to love and admire. Do you see the significance of the title? Brilliant!
I had doubts about Kaja as Dante’s leading lady. Ms. Oak paints her as an abused wild animal to Dante’s refined royal status. Kaja had a lot to learn to survive in Dante’s world. Like any true Alpha female, Kaja doesn’t simply meet the challenge, she runs to face it. I fell in love with her honor and courage right along with Dante.
I would be remiss in not mentioning that fans of Sophie Oaks other series will be thrilled to see some familiar faces…sorta. I won’t give away that particular treat you’ll have to read the book to see how she performs her magic. Beast is an excellent story that picks up where Bound left off. You’ll receive a richer enjoyment Dante and Kaja’s story if you read Bound first.
Ms. Oak’s characters rarely, if ever, fall in love at first sight. Lust at first sight is a different matter. While they almost always feel chemistry and/or sexual attraction, she allows the true passion and love to build slowly throughout the story. Beast is bathed in tension and sizzling descriptive sex. If you don’t want to be in the room with these people, don’t read this book. However, if you crave vivid writing, carefully crafted dialogue, and plots so thick you’ll need a knife; Sophie Oak is the story teller for you. I hope you’ll join me on this sensational journey sure to have you searching for your own Faery story.

Love this series, so much more than a erotic book, storyline is very deep, covers the war/politics of the different planes or dimensions like vampire plane, wherewolf plane, planeswalkers - hell planes since they are demons, and many more. Full of fantasy fae, all kinds, all the characters we love to read about but placed in a well writen story with some hot sex...
If you could imagine you whole life being stolen when your the king to be and you must retreat to a poor existance in a dangerous forest to hide from the new king who has killed your entire family and deal with all the creatures you have been protected from it may seem a bit scary
For Beck and Cian who are sybolic twins who share a soul life goes on trials and secrets.. since they found their bond mate or soulmate 'Meg' which she gets to share both guys 'yummy' one the warrior side the other intellect, both have savage need for her and take her together it is quite lovely really, they are one but two and with her they become a Triad.. they all feel what the other feels when they together sexually or not..
Thru Meg the brothers come into the legend which was not believed by Beck or Cian, but now Beck is the STORM LORD & Cian the GREENMAN, Imagine making him mad and maybe the earth who he can command swollows you up or vines with giant thorns grab you and take you life. Beck controls Air/water and can cause hurricanes and more.. Meg she just loves them both but with out her they cannot exist. They are fae.
There cousin Dante is a Vampire and he takes a bond mate in this book and well she is quite a unique being, so the story here is Kaja and Dante bond but Dante has been a well man whore all his life and now he if finding love and is so confused over it.. Kaja is living on the vampire plane which has not forest or green growth at all. She with her nature needs to be able to run thru the forest, I will not spoil more but read this you will love it. 'DANTE REALLY CAME INTO HIS INNER BEAST IN THIS BOOK I LOVED HIS CHARACTER AND POSSESSIVE LOVE FOR KAJA...

You will not be disappointed.

Dante Dellacourt is a rich, spoiled, "man whore"... only in a good way. Well, ok so his family doesn't think it's good. After his latest scandal involving the vampire version of a certain reality tv show, his Dad gives him an ultimatum. Find a consort and settle down, or be disowned.
Kaja is a werewolf. She has been labeled an outcast from her pack and left to starve on the frozen plane she's from. While learning the hard way how to survive, she was attacked and brought to a strange world. Finding herself unable to understand anyone or shift for some reason, she does the only thing she can. She fights.
When Dante accompanies his cousins to address a problem at the marketplace, he finds a woman unlike any he has ever met before. Even alone, frightened, dirty and savagely attacking anyone who comes near her, this mysterious woman calls to the primitive part of himself that he never knew existed. Now, he just has to figure out how to tame her and then claim her.
I loved Dante in Bound. He was fun and sweet. Watching him fall a little in love with Meg was very touching and I was just waiting for him to find a strong consort. Kaja definitely fits that description! It was a lot of fun watching the interaction between them... especially the great sex.
I love Sophie Oak's stories and this one is definitely no exception. I don't think its quite as good as Bound but it's definitely good. :) I feel sorry for my friend who I kept messaging going "Oh I love this line!!!" Now, she's decided she has to read this book too. This is definitely one I recommend. But, if you want to read it, you MUST start with Bound. There's too much that will not make sense if you don't start at the beginning.
For those of us who have read the Siren series, there will be a couple of Vampires you are going to really enjoy seeing in this book. :) But Sophie, Jeremy! Really?? Also, um, WHEN is the next book? :)
Dante Dellacourt is a rich, spoiled, "man whore"... only in a good way. Well, ok so his family doesn't think it's good. After his latest scandal involving the vampire version of a certain reality tv show, his Dad gives him an ultimatum. Find a consort and settle down, or be disowned.
Kaja is a werewolf. She has been labeled an outcast from her pack and left to starve on the frozen plane she's from. While learning the hard way how to survive, she was attacked and brought to a strange world. Finding herself unable to understand anyone or shift for some reason, she does the only thing she can. She fights.
When Dante accompanies his cousins to address a problem at the marketplace, he finds a woman unlike any he has ever met before. Even alone, frightened, dirty and savagely attacking anyone who comes near her, this mysterious woman calls to the primitive part of himself that he never knew existed. Now, he just has to figure out how to tame her and then claim her.
I loved Dante in Bound. He was fun and sweet. Watching him fall a little in love with Meg was very touching and I was just waiting for him to find a strong consort. Kaja definitely fits that description! It was a lot of fun watching the interaction between them... especially the great sex.
I love Sophie Oak's stories and this one is definitely no exception. I don't think its quite as good as Bound but it's definitely good. :) I feel sorry for my friend who I kept messaging going "Oh I love this line!!!" Now, she's decided she has to read this book too. This is definitely one I recommend. But, if you want to read it, you MUST start with Bound. There's too much that will not make sense if you don't start at the beginning.
For those of us who have read the Siren series, there will be a couple of Vampires you are going to really enjoy seeing in this book. :) But Sophie, Jeremy! Really?? Also, um, WHEN is the next book? :)

3.5 stars. Beast is the second book in the Faery series. This is Dante and Kaja's story. Dante is a vampire who is struggling to change his spoiled, rich, playboy image. His family orders him to settle down and find a consort or they will disown him. He lives on the vampire plane, but he finds himself on the refuge plane to find a consort at auction. There he meets Kaja. She is a werewolf and has had a hard life, outcast from her pack for no fault of her own. She is confused and lost, but happy to find Dante, who cares for her like no other. They both feel a connection to each other, but they must overcome their vast differences, and, of course, they fall in love along the way.
I accidentally read this book first in the series, instead of book one, Bound. So I was a little confused on the world-building. I definitely recommend reading the books in order. Still, I did enjoy this book and found it entertaining. I found Kaja and Dante to be a good match with great chemistry. Kaja was very unworldly and innocent in many things, but she was she was still a grown woman who felt a strong primal connection to Dante. I did find him to have a few jerky moments at times and I didn't totally love his character, but I liked him more by the end as he matured and took responsibility for himself. I would have liked a little bit more resolution of the couple's relationship at the end. But I still found the book to be a sexy, enjoyable fantasy romance.
Overall, Beast was an enjoyable read. I didn't quite like it as much as Bound, but I still liked it. I look forward to more from this fun series!

Dante has given himself the reputation of the ultimate player. Perceived by most to only have interest in fun, women and good times. Dante is one of those people that you can’t judge by what he wants you to see. He’s intelligent, loyal and cunning. As Dante's layers begin to peel away we find a man filled with emotions, determinations and wants he wasn’t ready to admit.
Kaja is primal yet submissive. Rugged Pack life was all she knew, then to be thrown into a world of which nothing is known the beast within her takes survival to an instinctual level. She was an outcast of the pack and something different to the new place she finds herself in. Dante is her alpha. From the moment she finds herself in his presence she sees him as her first. She feels a connection, something that’s unknown to her. Kaja is unique all around. From her sheer nature to the way she tries to adapt for something he’s not quite sure what it is, but she wants it.
Beast was fantastic. Dante was so much more thanI expected. He has some pretty deep layers of emotions. He did what he thought was expected of him only want to find out, those expectations were nothing but a push for him to find what he truly wanted him his life. Kaja and Dante together is something truly unique. I love the way their connection and bond formed, developed and grew into something more than either one of them expected it could be. Two beasts find their balance to their beast with another beast. I truly love this fairy world that Lexi Blake has created. This is not the first time I have kicked myself not discovering these books earlier. I am very happy they have been released and I get to enjoy them now.

I liked this better than the first, as obviously indicated in my 5-star rating. Kaja and Dante couldn't be more perfect for each other, one wouldn't miss the vampire-werewolf pairing. I failed to note in my review for the previous story how refreshing Ms Oak's spin on the paranormal genre is. I thought I've read a lot about them and this new concept/realm comes along, so kudos to Sophie Oak!
On to my review: I'm really wary of reading about vampires, but I never get enough of werewolves, and Dante's character really developed dramatically. Kaja is really adorable in her feral way. I know those two adjectives don't fit well in the same sentence but that's how I see her. I like the connection between them, it was overwhelming, powerful, and heartwarmingly intimate.
Kaja never fit in anywhere and the cruelty done to her only made her stronger. Dante was always perceived as the shallow one because he lived the typical spoiled bachelor's life, drinking, partying, and sleeping with a lot of women. He's now 30 and nowhere near settling down until his father threatened to cut him off. In this case, the iron hand worked.
Somewhere along the way, they fell in love with each other deeply and unexpectedly. I really loved the character crossovers, Julian Lodge has part fae part vampire blood, Stefan Talbot manufactures sex toys. "The Jennifer" suspiciously seems like "The Rabbit" based on the description. Sex was hot as well as the mild BDSM.
I can't wait for Bronwyn-who-happens-to-be-alive's story. It's obvious the Unseelie twins would be her bondmates, she dreams of them.

I highly recommend this book! And just when you think there can't be more...hang on to your seat and your Kindle, because the epilogue is going to rock your freaking world.

Kaja was an outcast in her werewolf pack. Always shunned and forgotten, she was thrown out into the cold. Finding her way to the refugee plane, she was thrown into a cage as a captured consort to be won. Frightened of her surroundings, Kaja does not submit quiety. Only Dante seems to be the only one she'll listen to.
In addition to the love story which is full of conflicts and discoveries not to mention some very hot love scenes, Oak weaves some exciting subplots. Her characters are three dimensional with witty dialogue. The worlds she paints are filled with mystical creatures and interwoven with our reality in such a way that it doesn't lose it's magical appeal. I absolutely adore this story and the series and can't wait to jump to the next one.

This might be my favorite Sophie Oak book yet! If you liked the first one, you will like this one. If you thought the first was lacking, then you will love this one.
When we met Dante in Bound, he was humorous and lively, but you could tell that he was lacking a maturity level. But I was intrigued by him nonetheless in the first book and looked forward to his own story.
What we see here is a man who is afraid of disappointing his family, so he ignores his own passion and acts frivolous as the "bad boy". Once he meets Kaja he begins to allow the real Dante to emerge. This is a great story about two people finding themselves by finding each other.
I can not wait for the next book. The humor in this book is just so great. I laughed out loud so many times. Great imagination and writing.

3.5 stars. Surprisingly enough I enjoyed this book. No menage, thankfully, but I could tell book 1 and looks like book 3 were trios. But there was actual PLOT. That made SENSE and had a POINT.
I liked Kaja, the wolf girl with the direct talking no hiding feelings instant loyalty and strength. Dante was the typical playboy vampire, but he had a deep insecurity, a need to prove himself... And an odd urge to be dominant??
I was hoping he would go back to her plane and kill Stefan but oh well. Enjoyable read.

I don't know if it'll be considered a spoiler if I give my reaction the the ending but just in case you are forewarned. There might me spoilers 'round these parts I reckon.

*gasps*
*nearly faints*
*gets back up and yells* WHAT THE FUCK!
But seriously I did not see that coming. Out of the whole book that made me give it 5 smackaroonies. Everything else was great too but that epilogue pushed me over the edge...of my bed.
